  2. There is no way all three of those dudes make the OD roster. Thaiss is a guaranteed contract and all but a lock to be there come March.
  3. Now you’re trolling too like West Eddy?
  4. It’s absolutely insanity. Rarely should you not play the service time game, especially when you’re owner is Jerry Reinsdorf, you’re coming off a 121 loss season, and the prospect is question has not come close to forcing the issue.
  5. This organization has completely broken you fathom.
  6. If he’s the Opening Day SS I lose all faith in Chris Getz
  7. I was referring to Tauchman & Slater. I can’t really comment on Taylor until I see what they get for Robert. Regardless, I don’t believe Fletcher would be a good everyday CF defensively, so not sure that he offers anything better than what Taylor does. To me, the OF post Robert trade is going to be a shitshow no matter what else we get a major league ready CF prospect.
  8. He may not, but I just don’t see a major league hitter in him and wasting 300+ plate appearances on him this year won’t change that. Would rather spend $3.5M on a veteran RF platoon and potentially take some pressure off of some of the other kids.
  9. Sosa, Vargas, & Baldwin have all performed in the minors and should be given legitimate opportunities. Fletcher was legit bad last year offensively and ideally needs to show something in the minors before being handed a starting role at the major league level. Blocking the first three is highly problematic whereas adding veteran OFs on the cheap is unlikely to be an actual issue IMO.
  10. There is some value in not losing 121 games again. Not a ton where we should be making bad long-term decisions, but enough to hand a starting to guys unworthy of an opportunity IMO.
  11. Also, gun to head, I will say Robert will not be on our opening day roster. And my real concern is we are going to sell him for pennies on the dollar.
  12. These guys weren’t even league average when playing half their games at Charlotte last year. I’m all for giving the young guys a chance, but Colas appears to be a bust and Fletcher & DeLoach appear to be massive pro scouting misses for us.
  13. I fully agree trying to squeeze value out of washed out vets doesn’t make sense. But Fletcher & Colas have done nothing to warrant playing time in the majors, so I can understand the Tauchman & Slater additions. I personally don’t see the need for Rojas and made that clear in that thread. I also worry about the Drury signing if they plan to put him on the major league roster.
  14. I’m going to wait to see what they trade Robert for before commenting on this move. If they give him away like Jerry’s accountant Harold suggests, then I will rip this move to shreds. If they can actually return value for Luis, then this makes some sense since we lack legit OF prospects in the upper minors.
  15. I don’t really agree when it comes to the OF. Fletcher & Colas don’t appear to be major league bats and DeLoach has already been DFAed. The only young option for the OF is probably Baldwin and he’s likely needed at SS to start the season.
  16. Getz signings Tauchman & Slater showed us what he thought about Fletcher & Colas. This 100% has to do with Robert.
  17. This only makes sense if you’re trading Robert. I’d assume that’s far more likely than we were assuming.
  18. ? Teams can only carry 13 pitchers, so not sure what you mean by a pitcher light. The Sox will almost certainly have a four man bench and eight man bullpen.
  19. It’s just trolling from a dude who appears addicted to derailing every thread
  20. Why would the state not give the Sox a sweetheart deal to stay at the Rate? The past deal is irrelevant to an existing stadium with no other obvious use case.
  21. If they don’t give Sosa an extended look in what will very likely be another 100+ loss season it would be an absolutely travesty. I pray they don’t prioritize giving a roster spot to Drury over him.
  22. You’d think the fact Jerry went to Springfield and pitched this proposal would be proof that Related isn’t conning anyone, but alas, hard to pass on a good conspiracy theory!
  23. Nashville will not pay for a new stadium…full stop.
  24. They need to find a way for Benintendi to not be a terrible defensive LF, which will likely prove to be a challenge insurmountable.
