  1. They need to find a way for Benintendi to not be a terrible defensive LF, which will likely prove to be a challenge insurmountable.
  2. Related are good damn swindlers…don’t get how they keep conning everyone!!!! Poor Jerry even went to Springfield to sell his 78 vision because those evil fucks at Related brainwashed him.
  3. Montgomery & Ramos should start in AAA. Let Baldwin and Amaya platoon at SS to start the season. Give Sosa an extended look at 2B. Vargas splits time between DH & 3B. Meidroth up sometime in May followed by Montgomery & Ramos around June or so (assuming these guys do well in Charlotte). Weakest performers in the IF demoted or traded. One of Teal or Quero hopefully by July and displaces Thais. OF becomes a complete s%*# show post trade deadline. Against RHP: Tauchman, RF* Robert, CF Benintendi, LF* Vaughn, 1B Rojas, 3B* Vargas, DH Sosa, 2B Baldwin, SS# Lee / Thais*, C Against LHP: Slater, RF Robert, CF Vaughn, 1B Sosa, 2B Benintendi, DH* Vargas, 3B Amaya, SS Lee, C Baldwin, LF#
  4. 🤣🤣🤣…you are legitimately nuts bro if you believe this
  5. This is all fair. But one thing I will say is that we need to give Getz some time to develop into this role. You will never see me justify the hire, but the reality is once Jerry made the call to give a guy without the proper experience the job it was going to take some time to find his bearings. The Vargas trade is a perfect example of that. I think a first time GM without any veteran support and many moving pieces happening concurrently likely got played at the deadline in that deal. Mistakes like that can’t keep happening moving forward, but we also have to accept the fact that Getz is learning on the job because Jerry prioritized familiarity over experience. Will he get better? Probably and the Crochet deal looks more promising than his other deals, but just “better” may not be good enough. And right now, it’s totally fine to be skeptical because of Getz’s poor resume and lacking trade record so far.
  6. Yup, and the bulk of our cap space. We need to go all fucking in on the trenches. And honestly, I think WR is a much bigger need than RB at the moment.
  7. The problem is it’s all the same argument over and over again. Every single transaction (outside of possibly Crochet) we have the same handful of posters debating the same topics. And I have partaken in some of these threads, so I am not free of blame either. But at some point you have accepted defeat in being able to convince your counterpart to take your position. IMO, it’s very fair to say the following: Getz has been generally been bad at trades so far The Cease trade doesn’t look promising right now The Vargas trade was questionable from the get go Pro Scouting still remains a major area of concern It’s too early to draw conclusions on Getz as a trader To me, there is nothing controversial in the above, but I guarantee we couldn’t get the board to align on those five points. Certain sides have locked in on their view of either Getz being a total failure at trades or him being completely free from blame, where the reality is somewhere it the middle right now.
  8. The odds are certainly stacked against him. I just think it’s too early to say he’s a “bust” because he is still very young and has one elite skill in plate discipline. On top of that, he has revamped his swing this offseason. Again, more likely than not he fails, but I am not ready to write him off just yet.
  9. His BABIP was .234 last season. That is the 7th lowest in all of minor league baseball for hitters with 400+ plate appearances. Obviously I have no context around what drove that, but it’s well below his career marks up until that point. More likely than not, that figure will normalize quite a bit next year. Doesn’t change the fact it’s a red flag, but I’d rather have a prospect with a low BABIP than one with a super high K rate.
  10. He was 4th in DRS last year amongst all 3B. He’s far more likely to be our 3B than our 2B, although he probably gets some playing time at both spots.
  11. I knew it was much deeper, but seeing some of these names does really reinforce that point. Zavala would firmly be a top 15 to 20 prospect in most years for us and he’s not even making the top 30. Imagine if we actually had a LatAm pipeline to supplement the prospects we already have in place.
  12. That’s the best 31 to 40 I can remember in at least over a decade.
  13. It’s absolutely ridiculous to have held onto him this long if he needs to start next season on the 60 man roster.
  14. Yeah, stock up at AAA by all means, but they better let the kids play.
  15. Isn’t the league minimum $800k though? Why does an extra $150k really matter. I’m guessing I’m missing something obvious here. Regardless, I’m pretty sure his stuff graded out well last year. As such, he was one good half season away from actual trade value like you said. I don’t our current infatuation of lefties with fringe stuff.
  16. I’m actually shocked they cut bait on Wilson so quickly…Harold, I mean Gene Watson strikes again!
  17. Nicky isn’t a 0.9 fWAR player if he plays SS everyday so I’m not sure I get the comparison
  18. The only problem for the Bulls is the Reinsdorf’s will never be removed. That will be their bread & butter for the foreseeable future. At least the White Sox will be freed of this torture within the next 10 years.
  19. I just can’t stop thinking about how incompetent AKME really is. There is a Joe Cowley article that says AK’s presser was just GM speak and he has a real plan and sense of urgency behind the scenes, but actions speak louder than words and these fucks don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt until we change is made.
  20. Pretty sure Getz cooled the jets recently on Colson.
