Managerial “Search”
And who else is left of known candidates?
-
Managerial “Search”
Has he been ruled out?

Managerial “Search”
Who has been bitching & moaning about the info Harold provides?

Andrew Vaughn
Andrew Vaughn being the best bat on the worst hitting team in baseball history is not some sort of accolade. The reality is he’s a roughly league average hitter who plays a bad 1B and is one of the slowest baserunners in baseball. That is a negative value baseball player and we now have +2,200 PAs to confirm it. Full stop, we should never settle for a below replacement level player just because there isn’t an obvious replacement. It’s the GM’s job to figure out a way to get better production than that and that’s exactly a tall ask.

Managerial “Search”
Yup, we are even more fucked now.

Managerial “Search”
I’m not sure how you can argue the brand is fine. There has been considerable damage done. That doesn’t mean we can’t recover, but we have a reached a new low point that hasn’t been topped since the strike.

Fire Chris Getz
Imagine if Fedde were on the Twins in 2025, we’d definitely have no shot a playoff spot then.

Fire Chris Getz
Vargas’ fast swing rate is 8.3% vs. a league average of 22.5%. That is not good bat speed.

Crochet open to extension...
Attaching Benintendi to Crochet would be the single dumbest decision in baseball history and only this shitshow of an org would even consider something so idiotic. If it happens, it should be very clear that Harold is Getz.

2025 Projected Arb Salaries (MLBTR)
I’d rather bring in some AAAA bats who never got a real shot in the majors than give another +600 plate appearances to Vaughn. There is zero reason to believe at this point that he will ever figure things out.

2025 Projected Arb Salaries (MLBTR)
$6M for Vaughn or $5M for Lopez would be a travesty.

Sox trying to fix Vargas
I admittedly haven’t watched a lot of Sox baseball since the deadline, but two things stand out to me regarding Vargas. First, he is a highly disciplined hitter who isn’t going to chase much and will draw lots of walks. And that is valuable given the makeup of the rest of the team. Unfortunately, he also looks like a low quality hitter when he does make contact. Making I’m missing something, but I haven’t seen him square up all that much and when he does it feels like his power is lacking for any sort of corner-type position. For a dude who was once heralded for having a 65 grade hit tool and 50 grade power, I certainly expected to see more out of him than I have so far.
- Riley Greene?

Farhan Zaidi
Maybe he’s the new Director of Analytics? 🤣🤣🤣

What are you looking forward to this off season
The highlight will likely be the buildup to a Crochet trade. Tons of speculation on all the young prospects we will get before Getz settles on a post hype guy with less than six years of control as the centerpiece.

Getz asks for "patience"...
100%.

Getz asks for "patience"...
You think everyone is suddenly a bad player.

Getz asks for "patience"...
And who had zero protection this year. Pitchers had zero reason to throw strikes to him and Robert tried to do too much because no one else could. It was a recipe for disaster and the results show that. If I were Getz, I’d try to get one decent veteran bat to slot behind Robert and see if that helps.

Getz asks for "patience"...
Where is Vaughn in this list?

Getz asks for "patience"...
My biggest two fears are they force Benintendi into a Crochet trade (given how much Harold has yearned for such an outcome) or they sell Robert for 25 cents on the dollar. Otherwise, I don’t expect much action. No doubt they will add a handful of cheap veterans similar to this past off-season, but it’s clear they are going with a legit youth movement in Y25 for better or worse.

What sort of gift is expected when you hand the rest of your division the playoffs?
Jerry & Getz should be embarrassed beyond belief for pretending they could maybe compete this year in what they deemed a crap AL Central after they set the all time loss record while three opponents made the playoffs.

Getz asks for "patience"...
Let me state a few things on this topic: Getz should have kept his message simple and just stated the org is vastly disappointed with this outcome and they acknowledge it’s unacceptable Citing a need to be patient is fair because it’s going to take a very long time to turn this disaster around but it wasn’t the right to time to say it The hostility at Chris Getz is totally warranted as he is another insular, unqualified hire who only got this job because of snitching & TLR Sox fans should never be viewed as being “weird” for being pissed off at this franchise and shouldn’t have to abandon their team because of a shitty owner

Crochet open to extension...
I’m not sure how we ever build a capable major league offense without trading Crochet. The only potential impact bats in the system are Montgomery & Wolkow and the former is starting to look more like an above average regular than a star and the latter has a ton of development ahead of him in an org that hasn’t been able to develop bats. If you wait for the draft to solve those needs, it could take four or five years. Unfortunately, you pretty much have to trade Crochet if you can land a couple of positional prospects with high ceilings.

Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record
I hope from this day until Jerry’s last breath, that he toss & turn in bed every night realizing that he is single handedly destroyed this franchise through his arrogance & stubbornness. He will die a rich man with endless money going to his heirs, but he has also cost them hundreds of millions of dollars by turning this once proud franchise to the worst in sports. Any hope of public funding for a new stadium went down the drain when he allowed us to hit rock bottom. His legacy will forever be stained by the travesty of the 2024 White Sox and the s%*# show of an org has left behind. I pray that he never gets to experience winning baseball again and leaves this world with no signs of hope for the franchise. This may all sound petty, but f*** Jerry Reinsdorf to hell & back.

9/26 Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1:10PM - final home game
Skipping work and heading down to the Rate. Can’t risk missing out on history.
