  1. Oh, I’m not suggesting he won’t do it, but why any fan would want to see it is beyond me.
  2. It’s very bizarre, but he has eaten some money. Honestly, it’s blocking players with any semblance of potential that hurts the most. But you know what, at some point just send his ass to the bench if Jerry won’t cut him right away.
  3. That’s a tough one. I mean, on one hand you have the argument that $55M for a team on pace to win 43 games with no other bad money and an owner who won’t spend on legit stars anyways is somehow more valuable than young controllable talent. On the other hand, you have the argument that a catcher who is currently the worst offensive player in major league history with over 120 plate appearances (out of a +40k sample) who is also providing negative value in terms of blocking, throwing, and framing is somehow worth it because of how he “handles” the pitching staff despite CERA saying otherwise. And with both arguments laid out, I think I’ll go with defending Oldy Moldy to the end being the worst one. I mean we’re talking about the worst fucking hitter since 1871, but when you hate analytics more than anything other than Jeremy Haber’s laptop and Nick Madrigal’s small stature it’s not surprising he may not fully realize how epically bad Martin has been this year.
  4. lol…this s%*# is absolutely hilarious. Dump Benintendi’s $55M contract so Getz can go out and sign the next Benintendi. What a fucking awesome plan!
  5. Yes, the number one focus for a team on pace to win 43 games with no other long-term commitments should be dumping a $55M contract over trying to get the most talent possible for their best two players. ?
  6. I’ve endured a lot of bullshit and stupidity in my time as a Sox fan, but if Getz forces Benitendi into a Robert or Crochet that might just kill my remaining fandom. Would be the absolutely dumbest thing ever as we are a long ways away from money being hindrance from competing.
  7. It’s a horrible proposal and Pirates fan are saying it’s way too much…lol.
  8. I’d kill for an actual rumor right about now.
  9. Is he still a prospect? Is that a real question?
  10. If those are the type of bats we will be targeting in free agency, then we might as well fold up shop right now. You can’t expect to fill half a lineup with dumpster dives and expect to be competitive.
  11. It was fun to f*** around with when it was free, but I wouldn’t pay a single dime to use it.
  12. It’s also no longer free and I can’t imagine anyone would actually pay for it
  13. I don’t envision Tanner Banks having all that much value. Yes he’s lefty and is controllable for a while, but he’s also a 32 year old relief pitcher without much of a track record. He’ll net us something if he keeps this up, but he isn’t nearly enough of a sweetener to land a premium prospect when paired with Fedde.
  14. Just a bummer more than anything. He needs some real innings and this obviously slows down that build-up. But glad to hear it’s not overly serious.
  15. Wow…you are actually condoning writing off a player for making a single mistake in his major league debut.
  16. I’d need 60 & 55 FV positional prospects, a 50 FV prospect (a pitcher would be acceptable as the 3rd piece), plus an interesting lottery ticket or two.
  17. His xwOBA is nearly identical last year. His sprint speed is the same. His defensive metrics aren’t great, but small sample size and he may not be giving his all given the shitshow that is this year’s squad. The health is a concern, but there won’t be a ton of 5 win players available for GMs to gamble. Just takes one to say “f*** it, I want to win a World Series” to get a quality return. I don’t you’re getting a Soto level return anymore but we should be able to get something good if he can stay healthy until Aug 1st. If not, trade him during the offseason.
  18. Kjerstad would be worth a lot more than $23M to $24M in expected surplus value. BTV is way too low on Fedde, especially if they think he is somehow less valuable than Tanner Banks.
  19. I remember when I was a Vaughn defender. I know he’s had a couple hot weeks, but I can’t wait to never see him in a Sox uniform again. What a huge disappointment.
  20. So how does your everyday 1B being a relief pitcher actually work? Are you actually going to pull what should be one of your best hitters out of the lineup so you can pitching him an inning or two of relief? Just seems like something that sounds cooler than the reality of the situation.
  21. I really hate watching the Andrew’s back to back.
  22. The Chuckster looms large! Hopefully this is a precursor to the Maldonado era coming to an end.
