  1. Bockenstedt with 8 K’s, 0 BB’s, 2 H’s, & 0 ER’s through 4 innings. He was a 5th year senior who we signed as an undrafted free agent, so he’s very much on the older side for A ball and solid results shouldn’t be all that surprising. That being said, he was a guy the Sox targeted immediately after making their last pick, so maybe there is something there? Haven’t seen him pitch yet so no idea what kind of stuff he has, but may put Kanny on if he goes back out for the 5th.
  2. Out of curiosity, where would you place Eder? I think you can make a legit argument he has the second highest ceiling after Schultz if the stuff is fully back (which seems mostly to be the case), but he’s also on the older side and still needs to prove he can work through his control / command issues. I put him a tier below Nastrini & Iriarte for now given those reasons, but can totally see the reasoning to have him ranked higher.
  3. Yup, both of them are super interesting. And beyond them, there is probably another half dozen or so legit SP prospects in full season ball. I spent quite a bit of time debating whether to put Keener or Bush at 10. Burke would be in the mix if I knew his shoulder was completely healthy. I know Adams has his fans (haven’t actually seen him pitch). Gordon has pitched really well against less advanced competition. And Batista is a kid who really intrigues me.
  4. What’s your question on Eder?
  5. I’m sticking with football from now on
  6. Adding players now is challenging. The big question is should have added different players during the offseason. Personally, I believe they knew this team would be garbage no matter what given there few prospects ready to contribute. As such, they needed to acquire some cheap placeholders to buy some time with a goal of not being historically bad in the interim. I think the real flaw is Getz assumed that by fixing the defense there would be enough of a floor to not lose more than 100 games. The problem is that most of his additions are legit awful hitters, which put significant pressure on three dudes with injury histories and two dudes coming off mediocre seasons. And unfortunately, those injury plagued guys all got injured (some bad luck there) and the two Andrew’s continue to not be good. The remaining group may be the worst set of offensive players ever assembled in baseball history. I said for the last few months that Getz’s offseason plan of all defense and no offense would be a fascinating experiment, and so far, it’s blown up in his face. I fully expected to lose 100 games and would not have penalized Getz for that given the shitshow that was the front office tandem before him, but under no circumstance should being the worst team in baseball history be allowed. And that’s a very possible outcome and one Getz should be accountable if it happens as he’s the one who has acquired the bulk of the retreads & misfits that we are giving playing time
  7. Yes, it was a terrible bet…lol. Don’t think I will gambling on Sox again anytime soon.
  8. I have no idea what you’re referring to here. That being said, not sure why my political affiliations matter when it comes to Jerry Reinsdorf wanting his children to sell the team when he dies. But if you really want to know, I’m a liberal who hates Trump. Hope that helps confirm if I easily fall for Con jobs or not.
  9. Given the shittiness of the major league squad, I’ve been looking for reasons for optimism elsewhere in the org. And nothing stands out more than the quality of our minor league pitching. There’s some real talent across all four levels with a few more legit prospects on the IL and in Complex ball. However, it’s a very diverse group of pitching prospects in terms of age, ceiling, variance, repertoire, & proximity and I’d imagine there is likely to be quite differing opinions in how these guys are viewed. Below is my current top 10, but I’d love to see who other posters here would include in their own. Rank | Prospect | Age | Level | ETA | FV Noah Schultz* | 20.7 | A+ | 2026 | 60 Drew Thorpe | 23.5 | AA | 2024 | 55 Nick Nastrini | 24.2 | AAA | 2024 | 50 Jairo Iriarte | 22.3 | AA | 2024 | 50 Jake Eder* | 25.5 | AA | 2024 | 45+ Jonathan Cannon | 23.8 | AAA | 2025 | 45+ Payton Pallette | 22.9 | A+ | 2025 | 45 Tanner McDougal | 21.0 | A+ | 2026 | 45 Grant Taylor | 21.9 | IL | 2026 | 45 Ky Bush* | 24.4 | AA | 2024 | 45
  10. Do you literally just make up your own realities?
  11. Please stop overreacting to minor league radar guns
  12. Two run bomb from Tatum now.
  13. Would be amazing. And it really seems like this kid is a legit dude.
  14. Another bomb for Quero
  15. Gordon pitching very well. 6 K, 0 BB, 1H, 1 HR through 3 innings. Feels like he will be an early promotion to W-S.
  16. I definitely drank my money’s worth, but feel bad for the kid that there was zero excitement from the offense. I do hope Jerry and the front office realize the impact that being this bad has on convincing the next generation of baseball fans to choose the Sox.
  17. My son keeps asking if “so and so” is the best hitter on the team and I have tell him there isn’t one ?
  18. Alright, DraftKings has a stepped-up parlay promotion, so throwing some money on the Sox. $50 bet pays $850 with the boost. Here are the legs: White Sox to win White Sox the score 2+ runs Reds scoreless through five Vaughn 1+ total base Pillar 1+ total base Sosa 1+ total base Please be kind baseball gods!
  19. Yup, but at least tickets are cheap on the secondary market. And Crochet alone is worth the price of admission on a beautiful day like this.
  20. White Sox lineup: Grossman, LF# (.564) Vaughn, 1B (.514) Sheets, DH* (1.159) Pillar, RF (.619) Sosa, 3B (.555) DeJong, SS (.643) Remillard, 2B (.666) Fletcher, CF* (.657) Maldonado, CA (.226)
  21. Scooped up some scout seats last second and taking my older son to the game. Today will be our World Series and hopefully Crochet can lead us to victory! Let’s fucking go!
  22. Assuming we see Iriarte, Schultz, & Gordon today. Not sure who goes for the Knights, but if it ain’t Nastrini or Cannon then I’m not sure it matters.
  23. The pitching hasn’t be terrible though. If you remove Crochet, Fedde, Kopech, & Wilson, then it’s likely the pitching staff is worse. And I’m super optimistic about the young arms we have on the cusp, but no guarantee they come up and immediately produce. On the offensive side, I’m not sure which prospects will be ready this year and/or actually called up. Montgomery could obviously push for a role at some point, but do they actually want to call him up and him join this s%*# show? Not sure there are many locks after that. Several guys at Birmingham could reach AAA this year, but not sure they promote them all the way to the majors. I do think some of the bad vets like DeJong & Maldonado could get cut at some point and hopefully their replacements are better, but short of Montgomery I doubt they will be game changes. Definitely hope I’m wrong there though.
  24. Yeah, a successful trade deadline could make this team a real threat for 120 losses. When it’s all said and done, I think this could be the worst offense in major league history. If Crochet gets shut down and you trade most of the other arms worth a damn, then there is no limit to how bad this team could be post deadline. It’s going to be close because losing 120 games should be damn near impossible, but with a lack of talent and bad injury luck it just might happen.
