Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
Those are examples of two of the largest expenditures in franchise history and that’s beyond embarrassing. But hey, tell me Jerry isn’t cheap when Cease & Lopez are our #3 & #4 starters come June when one of our starters go down.

Isn’t Bridgewater signed to a multi year deal?

Does he really off the better glove at this point?

Not against RHP (which is all that matters) and it’s not even close.

Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
Come on man, we’re good because we traded away a bunch of talented assets and signed a couple Cubans. Go look at our list of biggest free agent signings and tell me Jerry isn’t cheap.

What a fucking cheap fuck
-
Joc to Cubs
You just lost your own argument. We don’t need a RF who can’t hit LHP (plus we have Engel), we need one who can crush RHP. And Joc has been way better at that than Eaton historically.

What a fucking joke...this front office is clueless

They could be great if one of Cease or Kopech develops into a front-line starter.

I don’t buy the Sox lost a lot of money at all. Where are these losses coming from? Even a third of their TV deals would cover the bulk of their prorated payroll expenses. The stadium is more or less free without any attendance. Yes, they paid some front office workers and minor leaguers for a portion of the year, but I can’t imagine the losses were that massive. Forbes estimates their total non player expenses in 2019 was roughly $100M and a ton of those would have to be park related. Maybe I’m missing something though, but I’d wager the actual loss to be minimal. The problem is the Sox lost any operating profit they typically pocket and Jerry must not like that.

I blame some of that on Reinsdorf loyalty, probably wasn’t easy to cut the cord with Coop.

If Gioltio got injured in spring training, you’re looking at the following: Lynn Keuchel Cease Lopez Kopech / Stiever Holy fuck is that a problem. We’re literally banking on massive improvements from basically all the young guys for us to overcome one major injury to the big three.

Sullivan already pointed out we nearly doubled our payroll from the 2018 season! Let’s ignore the fact Reinsdorf literally pocketed millions that season and that we are down YoY on what they were prepared to spend pre-COVID, but if this organization is good at one thing it’s using all resources to spin our payroll spending with the casual fans.

I don’t mean from a legal standpoint. Business 101 is you design a product the consumers will want and they will actually spend their money to procure it. If you refuse to invest in your product up front, then in almost all businesses you will fail. Jerry doesn’t get this concept and instead makes KW say dumb shit like “I can’t a dollar if I only have 50 cents” in attempt to blame the fanbase.

What company puts out a shit product and then blames their consumers for not wanting to buy into said shit product?

Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
Can someone start a changeorg petition for him to sell the team? Obviously it will do noting, but I don’t want that cheap fuck feeling like a boss all offseason because he signed the top reliever on the market while ignoring every other need.

Anyone else remember when we were supposed to have “unprecedented financial flexibility”? I guess three B tier free agents ate all that up.

That would be great.

He’s going to become an ace for the Cubs.

Honestly, I’d be excited for a Mazara addition at this point. It’s clear they aren’t going to spend any real money and Nomar adds some OF depth for dirt cheap. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Beef carrying that water for Uncle Jerry!

Who is using Codify that didn’t previously though? Hendriks & Giolito are already good.

I’m not sure they’re going to keep Lambert in a starter’s role. It’s much more likely Flores is the #8 starter which also isn’t great. I know McClure looked great at instructs but he’s another guy who will be on a tight innings limit.
