  1. I wouldn’t recommend looking at his past 30 day splits. That .666 OPS looks pretty fucking awesome in comparison.
  2. Also, was planing to wear my Robert jersey as a final send off but the guy is such a wimp that I have pivoted to my 20 year old Jenks jersey. Real heroes deserve to be honored, not ones afraid to play through a little groin pain a week before the trade deadline.
  3. I’ll be there with my Cubs fan wife and our three kids who could give two fucks about the White Sox. Should be a blast! At least give me a win baseball gods for enduring this suffering.
  4. He’s out again??? Now I’m starting to get worried about getting anything for him.
  5. Robert + Sosa for Vientos would be terrible.
  6. I’m more than ok with pursuing that market inefficiency. I also think power is a massive need for us. I’m just not convinced Vientos is the answer. Part of that is the player, part of it is the fit. I get Robert is a flawed asset, but I’d prefer going in a different direction when trading him.
  7. Yup, Clifford might end up at 1B, but at least LF remains possible at the moment. Vientos should not be playing 3B. Even Mets fans agree he is more of 1B or even DH type.
  8. Athletic writer mentioned Tauchman as a possible trade target for the Astros. Given his extra year of control, I’m not moving him for anything less than a 40 FV prospect. The Astros have a pretty bad farm system, so that could be someone as high as back end of their top 10. A guy I would target from them would be Joseph Sullivan. He’s a 23 year old, LH hitting OF who just hit AA. Despite above average speed, he’s more of a corner OF type. That being said, he’s put up some big numbers in High A. He’s gone from a contact oriented approach to more of a three outcome one, which shows in his K, BB, and power numbers. Obviously far from a sure thing, but I think this would be a good gamble to take in a Tauchman trade.
  9. Is it? Is Vientos even good? He’s a one tool, slow, RH hitting 1B / DH who is hitting worse than Robert right now. His success last year was driven by a 92 percentile barrel rate, which has fallen off a cliff. Can he get back to that elite level? To me, his 2024 season feels like a total outlier. Maybe there is some underlying issue that can be corrected, but I am not excited about acquiring a project 1B / DH type who has four years of control left and will further limit our flexibility in the infield.
  10. Ugh… not feeling this Bob nugget:
  11. Feels like you’d have to swap Vientos and Vargas. Personally, I think Vientos is a great fit for us. Would prefer one of their non Benge OF prospects.
  12. Is Vientos hurt this year? His bat speed has plummeted vs. 2024.
  13. Definitely felt a piece light at the time of the deal, but honestly it feels decent with the benefit of hindsight. Will be interesting to see how Albertus does as he’s almost a bonus at this point.
  14. I agree on Crawford, but Robert should be able to land 45 FV type prospect, which could easily be a top 10.
  15. No way…you need to go down multiple tiers when it comes to Houser. I’d target someone like Eli Lovich who is very young and has interesting corner OF tools but hasn’t come close to putting things together yet. He’s the type of prospect with some ceiling who might be gettable for Houser.
  16. This opens up a 40 man roster spot right?
  17. Finally, the move we were all waiting for.
  18. The article cites spotty StatCast metrics but his xERA is 3.95 or right around the middle of the pack due to strong barrel and ground ball rates. There are reasons to believe he can be a valuable SP moving forward, even if the the 2ish ERA is far from sustainable. A weak SP market would definitely help his value though.
  19. I understand the risks with Crawford, but I’d still easily roll the dice on him for Robert. He is 21.5 years old and has plenty of time to grow & adjust. I also think you are greatly underselling his physical skills. He’s a legit 70 grade runner, which is incredibly fast. He has far more raw power than Juan Pierre ever had. The tools are there to be a special player even if they haven’t materialized in the way we’d like to see yet. Candidly speaking, if he was hitting more line drives and running better routes, he’d be one of the top prospects in the game and completely off limits. I don’t think the Phillies would give him up for Robert, but that would be a HR trade for us right now. I would not trade Taylor for him though…would need something with a higher degree of confidence to move him right now.
  20. On a lesser note, our 3rd & 4th picks who were college OFs are basically missing their entire first full seasons. At least Bonemer and Antonacci have been hits so far.
  21. You 100% consider trading Taylor if you don’t feel he can stick as a SP. My only issue is I think he will gain significant value with an actual track record.
  22. Meidroth is fucking study. @fathom - You are going to be stuck with him for years to come 😁
  23. They should have said he had the runs or something.
  24. I don’t like this post…😰
