  1. @Minoso-Pierce-Allen-HOF why do you keep bringing up AJ Reed. Dude is not in contention for a major league spot.
  2. I can’t even come up with an example of how much worse he’d be out there.
  3. It’s way too floor-oriented IMO.
  4. I’ve always felt he would be traded at some point the moment we protected Mercedes. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to trade for a bench piece though unless they are young / controllable or we should have just signed one of a half dozen free agents.
  5. Seems like a pretty small opportunity with EE in the fold.
  6. You aren’t Larry from SouthSideSox are you?
  7. How much have you actually seen Colins catch this year?
  8. This list shows just how many more interesting guys we have in the lower levels than we ever had before. Obviously the bust rate will be high on these guys, but damn will they be fun to follow this year. That being said, I think your list is running at least ten too short for me. These are the other guys of high interest for me: Luis Mieses, OF (#20 by BA) Lency Delgado, SS Anderson Comas, OF (#23 by BA) Victor Torres, C (#25 by BA) Jefferson Mendoza, C (#30 by BA) Harvin Mendoza, 1B Sam Abbot, 1B Cavers Weaver, OF Logan Glass, OF Ruben Benavides, C
  9. FutureSox has released their top 30, but figured its time for us release our own rankings. Here is my official top 30 rankings as we enter the 2020 season: Luis Robert, CF Micheal Kopech, RHP Andrew Vaughn, 1B Nick Madrigal, 2B Dane Dunning, RHP Jonathan Stiever, RHP Micker Adolfo, RF Zach Collins, C/1B/DH Luis Basabe, CF Matthew Thompson, RHP Andrew Dalquist, RHP Blake Rutherford, OF Jimmy Lambert, RHP Bryce Bush, OF Gavin Sheets, 1B Yolbert Sanchez, SS Luis Gonzalez, OF Konnor Pilkington, LHP Tyler Johnson, RHP Zack Burdi, RHP Lenyn Sosa, SS James Beard, CF Ian Hamilton, RHP Codi Heuer, RHP Bryan Ramos, 3B DJ Gladney, 3B Jose Rodriguez, SS Luis Mieses, OF Benyamin Bailey, OF Lency Delgado, SS
  10. Exactly, there is zero benefit to be honest right now.
  11. Very cool that MLBTradeRumors is citing @Y2Jimmy0 on this. There is some real smoke here despite how badly the Sox / Moncada want to downplay it for now.
  12. A 150 wRC+ in AA followed by a 117 wRC+ in AAA (SSS) suggests he’s more than worthy of a roster spot. I’d still hold him down for the extra year of team control though.
  13. You really need to rub one out or something because you are way too nervous about everything bro.
  14. 60 grade hit tool? He’d have legit trade value as a DH prospect if he had a 60 grade hit tool along with a 60 grade power. I’m not sure you realize how rare that combo is, but Fangraphs has six total prospects with 60 FV grades in both those areas. One of those guys is Andrew Vaughn who was the third overall pick last year. The Mercedes love us really starting to get out of control here.
  15. Engel has been an absolutely horrible hitter against major league pitching outside of 83 BABIP fueled plate appearances against LHP last year. He’s going to need to prove himself over a much larger sample before I feel confident in handing him the RF platoon role over Leury. Also, Adam also doesn’t have a great arm, so defensively I’m not sure he’s better in RF than García.
  16. Exactly, and the cost of a prime free agent year is much more than some people imagine. To be able to get two or three of those at $30M per would be a huge win for us.
  17. I really don’t think the Sox plan on using Leury as the primary reserve IF. I’m almost certain that role will go to Mendick. Once Madrigal is up, Leury’s role should be platoon RF and versatile utility guy. Engel will likely be the final bench piece as Robert’s main backup and late inning defensive replacement for Eloy and/or Mazara. I would honestly be shocked at this point if those guys and McCann weren’t our bench come May.
  18. Mendick is our primary reserve IF and I really don’t see that changing. If anyone were to get bumped for Delmonico it would likely be Engel and that seems incredibly unlikely. And the only chance for Mercedes to make the team is with a five man bench IMO.
  19. Don’t get me wrong, I’d be perfectly fine with a prep in the 1st. I just think they’ll want to add another arm with TOR potential if available. Not sure if any of the arms in the minors, excluding Kopech if you count him, truly have that type of a ceiling (still a bit early to make that call on Dalquist & Thompson IMO).
  20. I don’t see them benching their big free agent addition unless they plan on using McCann as Giolito’s exclusive catcher.
  21. I think they will prioritize one more “core” piece with their 1st next year and starting pitching is probably our biggest need. Also, it sounds like that is where the depth is where we’ll be picking.
  22. You think Duffy over Keller on Opening Day?
  23. Seems pretty likely that NotSteveCishek has a White Sox source to some extent.
