Stroman: I stand with Tim Anderson
Chicago White Sox replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Refute your point? Your point is idiotic. You tried to compare the word n$gga to the word cracker and completely ignored the fact millions of people in this country use the former on a daily basis with no ill will in mind while no one uses the latter without hate in mind unless they need something to go with their cheese. The connection is just plain dumb bro. -

Because millions of African Americans decided it was important to take back a historically significant racial slur and make it their own. Who are you to tell them otherwise? -

Potentially intensive language? How is what Tim said insensitive in the context it was used? -

That’s a separate issue. Tim Anderson is clearly black and did not use the word to demonstrate racial superiority. That’s as clear as mud and really isn’t up for debate. If MLB is worried that there will be gray situations like you’re alluding to, then talk with the players union and get them to agree to a zero tolerance policy. Making an example out of Tim for what he said given the context and when no precedent is in place just shows how behind the times the MLB is. -

If all sides agree the word shouldn’t be used, then simply set a zero tolerance policy. Until that’s in place, it’s compete bullshit Anderson got a suspension for his comment while Kyle fucking Schwarber was not penalized for his recent actions. That’s the reason people are upset about this and it’s a very fair criticism of MLB. -

This post is the perfect example of what I’m talking about when I say some white people dont get the word. N$gga is not the same as n$gger and your statement above is proof you don’t get that. If he said “weak ass dude” would that be considered racially insensitive? That’s the equivalent of what he said. I don’t how anyone in the world can honestly think a black man could call a white person the n word (and not the original racial slur version to boot) and mean it in a hate-filled way. -

Baseball isn’t a normal profession and he didn’t tell his boss anything. He simply called some asshole who hit him with a 90+ MPH over a bat flip that they were a little b****. Unfortunately he used a word that some white people don’t understand and got suspended as a result. There was nothing racist about what Tim said and his comments were relatively tame to what umps hear on a daily basis. Without a zero tolerance standard in place on the word, him getting suspended is a complete crock of shit. Of course Stroman is going to stand for him and I applaud him for putting their past beefs aside in doing you. Your little “bias” accusation here is quite frankly straight up ignorant. -

I have no idea what in the fuck you are talking about, but it’s very clear you don’t have a great grasp on the situation. Also, change that handle for the love of god. -

Future White Sox Lineup #GetExcited
Chicago White Sox replied to JUSTgottaBELIEVE's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think there’s hope for the lineup, but you’re getting a little carried away by saying so much of the core is in place. We hopefully have three important pieces in place. Robert & Madrigal are likely to be major leaguers, but are still just in High A. Collins bat is responding well to the juiced ball in AAA and a better hitting environment, but still has a ton of question marks defensively. Hell, my lineup is assuming we land Vaughn with the #3 pick. Still plenty of unknowns / question marks with most of these guys. Moncada & Anderson taking big steps forward is huge for the rebuild, but we’ve still got a ways to go. -
Sure, but Madrigal was the consensus higher ranked player at the time and there were rumors the Sox were going to take Singer for archaic reasons. My point was the Sox have this “college player” stigma early in the draft and I’m willing to see if they will buck that trend again and go with the higher rated HS player if Adley & Vaughn are off the board.

And that's a White Sox winner!
Chicago White Sox replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I’d argue you could do both. Let’s just say the Astros will give up Kyle Tucker and a projectable arm for Rodon. You just filled an OF hole with a cheap 60 FV prospect, meaning you have even more money to fill out the rotation. It won’t happen, but an unrestricted GM could go out and sign both Cole & Wheeler (kind of like the Cubs signing Lester & Lackey). Suddenly you’re looking at the following rotation next year. Cole Wheeler Kopech Cease Giolito / Lopez Again, we could easily afford to add both of those guys, especially if we have another young stud in Tucker to anchor the lineup. That being said, I don’t see a Reinsdorf owned team doing what it takes to land someone like Cole, which is a sad but unfortunate reality for us. -
I don’t follow...what hasn’t been determined yet? Who they’d pick?

And that's a White Sox winner!

I recall you saying that in the past and that’s very interesting. Right or wrong, I still can’t help but thinking that slinging sliders the amount Rodon does is a dangerous proposition. -

Chicago White Sox replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Without question, but I don’t see that happening. I think it would be one or the other and a lesser secondary piece. And even that is assuming Rodon keeps this up until the trade deadline, which is a huge question mark. -
I’d be enraged if they took a pitcher over Witt or Abrams, but for now I’ll give the Sox the benefit of the doubt. Last year Kiley or Eric said we were going to take Singer and we ended up doing the right thing and taking Madrigal.
