  1. He said “talk is cheap”?
  2. What did he say other than they plan to be more aggressive next offseason?
  3. I’d say Heuer not making the top 30 is probably the biggest surprise, but given the reliever profile I can understand why he missed the cut.
  4. I’m going to guess the Top 30 consists of the following guys: Corner Infield (4): Vaughn, Sheets, Burger, Krogman Middle Infield (4): Madrigal, Sosa, Sanchez, Rodriguez Outfield (8): Robert, Walker, Basabe, Adolfo, Rutherford, Gonzalez, Bush, Beard Catcher (1): Collins LH Pitching (2) Pilkington, Flores RH Pitching (11): Kopech, Cease, Dunning, Stiever, Dalquist, Thompson, Lambert, Hamilton, Johnson, Hansen, Burdi
  5. This most definitely doesn’t apply to the White Sox & Renteria.
  6. Yup, one high-end starter and one high-end RH reliever is what we need plus a depth starter or swing-man. After that, we’ll rely on some of the young arms such Hamilton, Schryver, Ruiz, Fulmer, etc. to step up and/or serve as bullpen depth. Wouldn’t be surprised if they add a few veteran arms for Charlotte’s pen, but saying we’re 10 short on arms is fucking ridiculous.
  7. Lol...or I should have just let the source speak for himself.
  8. @SoxAce said Pilkington was hitting 94 MPH a few start ago.
  9. The Astros didn’t sign anyone on the level of Machado, so that parallel doesn’t really hold true. The Sox will most certainly spend money and supplement the young core (even if it’s not Cole or Rendon), the bigger question is will they sign the right guys or end up with more busts.
  10. Based on what? What have the White Sox done to draw that conclusion? If anything, selling international bonus slots for cash says the the White Sox plan to spend money this offseason in their own demented way. I don’t hate Josh Nelson, but these SoxMachine clowns (minus Margulas) turn everything into the end of the world. It’s enduring as fuck and it’s hard to take them serious sometimes even though they clearly know their baseball.
  11. Almost every company does an exit interview with HR when somebody quits...
  12. I’m not sure I follow.
  13. They are expected to pitch this year? If so, that’s great to here.
  14. I was too slow to the trigger unfortunately...
  15. I think Burger will start at High A and will move to Birmingham if he has a strong first half. They have to be aggressive with him next year to make up for lost time. Just crazy for a position player to lose two full seasons due to the same essential injury.
  16. I’m praying this second half collapse is the lever that forces change. Even with more talent, Ricky will always be an obstacle we’ll have to overcome.
  17. Burger still recovering from a “bruised heal” and not expected back this season. I’m guessing Thompson & Dalquist are instructs but won’t be pitching this year. James Beard is the definition of a project and it’s going to take some before we know what we have in him. High risk, high reward player and odds are it won’t work, but no reason to jump to conclusions just yet.
  18. Narvaez had a very flukey offensive season in 2018 and was a terrible defensive catcher. If he was a desirable commodity, someone would have given up much more than Alex Colome. And no, his framing isn’t suddenly decent. He’s still a terrible defensive catcher all around. As for his offensive numbers this year, his quality of contact continues to suck. His flukey power numbers have started trending down significantly and right now he’s relying on an unsustainable BABIP (his xBA is 40 points high then his actual BA) to inflate his season totals. Dude has always had a strong eye at the plate which allows him to be a league average bat. The problem is that’s not very valuable when are a horrible defensive catcher.
  19. Sheets’ turnaround has been incredible. 14 HRs more than doubles his output last year in an extremely friendly offensive park/league. Really wish they’d reward him with a promotion to Charlotte, but very unlikely at this point.
  20. Lol...I’ve clearly had too much to drink.
  21. This is a guy that wants to give Jose a 3/39 extension to “penalize” the owner of his favorite sports team. Do not try to reason with him.
