  1. Anderson + Cease + anything else is absolutely ridiculous for three months of Machado. No way they get close to that much IMO. Also, Engel is one frustrating player.
  2. I hope you are right, he’s always had pretty good control and now he’s walking like crazy it seems.
  3. I’m guessing because his command isn’t there he’s more focused on hitting the catcher’s mitt and not holding runners similar to Giolito the other day.
  4. Man I really wanted to believe in Zach Stewart. Did not work out unfortunately.
  5. Mentioning Jeff Marquez should be a bannable offense 😜
  6. Ian Clarkin is really bad at baseball.
  7. Albies had a fairly big fan base. And I think some of us were hoping we could get Luzardo in a Robertson trade.
  8. I don’t think he gets bumped up until Robert is back.
  9. I wonder if/when they call up Vieira & Hamilton. Those two (and eventually Burdi) could really be game changers. Here are Vieira’s stats over his last 10 games: 12.2 IP, 2.13 ERA, 8 H, 0 HR, 22 K, 10 BB Still a bit wild, but clearly effective with a rediculous 15/9 K rate. Hamilton meanwhile has been stellar all year with the following stats: 15 IP, 1.20 ERA, 8 H, 0 HR, 22 K, 7 BB, 1.81 FIP Can’t wait for these two to join the big league club!
  10. IMO, 3B would be a waste of Moncada’s range. I’m sure he’d be fine over there, but I think he can be an elite defensive 2B.
  11. Caulfield’s brain literally collapses upon itself?
  12. All roads must lead to Puig my friend.
  13. The problem with your logic is Madrigal showing that he can play a competent SS only improves his value. Every team knows what he’s capable of at 2B. If you draft him, you play him at SS in the minors until he proves he’s incapable of playing the position or you are certain he will need to fill in at 2B in the very near term. More versatility = more value and I think it’s impossible to say he can’t be a solid defensive SS at the major league level given his tools.
  14. Agree, got to get at least one top 50 caliber prospect. A back end top 100 wouldn’t cut it for me.
  15. Exactly this. If he’s willing to agree to fair terms, I think a four year extension after this season makes a ton of sense. Something like 4/$80M would work for me. That would cover his age 32 to 35 seasons. And by 2021, hopefully Sheets or Burger is ready and able to push him to DH more often.
  16. That team above ^ could be pretty damn solid depending how Rodon & Kopech look. That’s at least a major league caliber offense with a fairly interesting pitching staff.
  17. The team could/should be a lot better after the All-Star break: 1. Moncada, 2B 2. Sanchez, 3B 3. Abreu, 1B 4. Davidson, DH 5. A. Garcia, RF 6. Jimenez, LF 7. L. Garcia, CF 8. Anderson, SS 9. Castillo, C #1: Rodon #2: Lopez #3: Kopech #4: Giolito #5: Shields/Stephens CL: Jones SU: Rondon SU: Fry MR: Soria/Vieira MR: Avalin/Bummer/Cedeno MR: Beck/Hamilton/Gomez LR: Santiago
  18. I was just giving you a hard time, but let’s never forget how bad May was last year: 42 PA, .056/.150/.056/.206, -42 wRC+, -0.7 fWAR I mean, May was so bad they cut bait after 42 plate appearances. Doesn’t change the fact that Engle is a terrible baseball player though 😁
  19. Really think they’re going with Kelenic with an underslot deal.
