Why would the Braves want Machado after signing Donladson and also having Camargo, Swanson and even Riley in the upper minors?

Really seems like Machado’s agent is waiting for a team to blink. Honestly, if we’re already at 7/$245M or so (purely my speculation), I say just go 10/$300M and be done with it. Make those last three years worth $20M, $20M, & $15M respectively. Who really cares about the $55M eight years from now and it potentially reduces our luxury tax burden during our comeptive window.

Wetbutt leaked the Quintana trade the night before and it officially broke around 10:00am or so that next day IIRC. HidingInYourMomsRoom claimed last night a deal should be announced today. If you don’t believe in coincidences, this could be announced before lunch.

Yup, Simonetti has said it’s in the bag for weeks now, which doesn’t explain why it hasn’t happened. I don’t buy what he has to sell.

Unfortunately, you have no idea what the Sox do with their profits. You assume they just keep a bunch of excess cash on their balance sheet, but they may cash out each year and pay their owners a dividend. The reality is we have no idea how the Sox operate their business.

Plus with the Phillies finally getting serious about Harper, it seems like maybe just maybe we’re slowing reaching a conclusion here.

Leury has none, but Delmonico, Palka, & Engel all have options remaining.
