White Sox Around the League
The real question is how’s his defense been?
-
And that’s a White Sox Winner!
The velocity was promising at the very least. We need to see more before we consider him fixed, but at least there’s reason for optimism with him now.

Most important thing this big league season...
Moncada was always going to be the 3B if they missed on Machado.

McCann is so fucking bad.

2019 Minor League Infields
Realistically, it would be great if Burger or Sheets could take a big leap forward and for one of the Kanny infielders to put themselves on the prospect map. That combined with Madrigal and a high draft pick would make me feel much better about our infield depth going forward.

It’s a theory that could theoretically make sense. Like I said, there’s got to be more to the story than just “we got sloppy” players.

Interesting and honestly it wouldn’t surprise me. There has to be things going on that are contributing to the general sloppiness.

You should change your handle to “Look at Rick Hahn Lawyerspeak” if you’re now blaming bad luck for years of poor fundamentals.
-
3/30- Sox at Royals, 1:15 CDT, NBCSC
Ok, if you don’t think the sloppy play is from a lack of preparation / practice / development, then Hahn is certainly to blame for continually bringing in fundamentally poor players. The point is you can’t blame the players forever because at some point it suggests there is a larger problem at play.

And this is why our player development sucks...we expect these guys to know everything before they come into the organization. There is a reason our fundamentals are poor year after year and it’s not simply because our players lack baseball IQ and/or focus. I don’t care what profession you’re in, at some point you can’t blame your direct reports for their sloppy work and their failure ultimately fall on the manager.

Most important thing this big league season...
The development of Moncada & Jimenez are the two most important elements of this season. Those guys have to be stars for this thing to work. After that, we need at least one of Lopez (more likely) & Giolito (less likely) to develop in a solid #3 starter. If both guys bust, that really sets us back. Rodon also settling in as a dependable #3 type would be helpful as well. Any further development we get out of Anderson is just gravy IMO.

If we’re stuck with Alonso, we might as well use him at 1B against RHP. Abrue’s only chance at a future with this club is at DH whether he likes it or not.

Now I’m convinced you work for the organization in some capacity or at the very minimum are related to someone. When the product is sloppy on the field year after year, that most definitely falls on some combination of the front office, coaching staff, & development staff.

You just said it takes one single start to be perfectly predictive.

Moncada for MVP!!!

Come on dude, not all guys react the same way to cold temperatures. Stop making everything so black and right.

For god’s sake can we stop using Fangraphs as the end all be all and use some critical thinking. It’s 35 degrees and we’ve seen subpar velocity games in the past from Lopez in similar conditions. There is absolutely zero reason to panic that he suddenly lost the velocity on fastball.

Dude, it’s one fucking start, stop making ridiculous conclusions off of it.

What do you mean? If Lopez is injured, I’ll probably have to take a few months off from White Aox baseball.
