I like our chances to out-pitch these central teams over the long haul. I hope our SP depth just wears these teams out over 162.

QUOTE (Tmar @ Apr 18, 2015 -> 03:37 PM) Suck it annabelle sanchez Lol classic man

QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 18, 2015 -> 12:22 PM) It's not about the PR, it has something to do with the players' union having cause for legal action. A GM will never be honest about that. Of course not. So all this talk it stupid.

My gosh, Merkin asked him the questions. Nnice job Gordo! Nice canned responses! Way to represent the Sox absolutely 100% correctly and not take the bait from a POS from the media. So proud of ya man! Reporters are plain evil when they try to stir the pot. Way to sniff it out GB!

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) I can't get mad at cubs fans for being excited. Bryant's a rare talent, but the pass Theo gets for sending him down is ridiculous. I don't disagree with Theo's decision at all, but the idea that Theo doesn't bring rookies north for opening day (or hasn't historically) for developmental reasons is a joke. He did it to buy an extra year of control. Again, I don't think Theo should be criticized for sending Bryant down, but let's not act like it was for developmental reasons. Is there any history of GMs coming out and saying something like "of course we're sending his ass down for 12 days. It gets us another year of control." What happens PR-wise in that case?

Gotta 12-hr memory this s*** boys. Chris Sale can right the ship!

Say this wasn't the replay era of baseball. That ball beat the runner by a mile. You gotta run out there and take a s*** on the ump's shoes at a bare minimum. Pump your guys up, take away the momentum. Make your tirade last a half hour so the pen can warm up. I'm so pissed that I have to join the "Robin Sucks" club now. I'd like to run for president if it's election time ?
-
This is my first time being mad at Robin. Gotta stand up for your boys there and challenge. Right or wrong, get Alexei's back there. Now I'm pissed.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 10:27 AM) Why is our hottest bat, who is also our 5 hitter, sitting in a week with 2 days off? Robin needs to be fired! No...killed!

And That's a White Sox Winner !!

I like that we can pop 3 in row without fully clicking. Last year we needed to be full steam to grind out 3. I see the 2015 Sox as a team that has the potential to pop some long winning streaks, 8/10s etc. we might be scary good once the dust n rust settles and Rodon/Montas force the issue. -
There is so much more information that goes into daily lineup construction than R/L match ups, and we aren't privy to ANY of this information. Somebody touched on illness & injury nicely and that probably constitutes 1/100th of the information unavailable to us usually. I mean like bro...what if there's a plan or something to beat Carrasco? "Na dude, lefties hit righties better so case closed". GMAFB What if the brass feels carrasco isn't the best thing for MJ's confidence? So many variables.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) I wouldn't say it's impossible. Hahn likes him. There would have to be a zillion clauses in his contract. My only clause would be that his sons have to be marooned on islands somewhere. They ruined everything airing the dirty laundry. This reminds me of that Seinfeld where Jerry and George stay up all night trying to figure out a way for Jerry to switch the roomates he's banging. I don't see how manage trois works here though.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 06:09 PM) No, not particularly. He just doesn't seem like himself lately and his approach at the plate is way off. It seems as if he is trying to hit everything in the air, when he should be slapping the ball around like he did last year. It isn't a question of his effort, because I know he gives everything he's got each and every day, but I just don't understand why the results aren't showing for him. Yea I think all the pressure is off everybody now. So he had a s***ty 20 ABs. Like you said, let's watch his approach this week and see if he has some more productive ABs. After all he's an OBP horse and our Spanky. Can't knee-jerk the good or the bad.

Nobody plays harder than this dude so what could there possibly be to worry about? Are you worried about something specific OP?
-
I still think Conor is a really good 3Bman. Line drive contact hitters are desperately what this team needs.

I would imagine there are plenty of playoff teams that have lost 4 in a row at some point during a season. Say we win six in a row now. I'm sure there are plenty of playoff teams that have won at a 60% clip Get off the ledge people. We have a lot of good players. It seems like it can work.
-
We got some really nice pieces. Hang in there boys. Royals SP doesn't scare me and they have no thunder and they pitched a million innings last year. The man'll pitch next week. I'm excited.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 06:38 PM) There's almost no point in signing Bonifacio if you're not gonna start him against lefties ALL lefties?

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 11:25 PM) P.S. - I have a baseball boner and it hasn't gone down yet, should I consult a doctor? I dunno man these baseball boners are in their own league. It might slap you in the face for even thinking about going to the doctor.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 11:17 PM) You just can't shoot a traffic violator in the back as he's running away. I know nothing about that cop, but he's going to jail for murder. If he's a normal, upstanding citizen, I feel sorry for him. I realize Milkman laughs at me, but why can't these bad cops just shoot a guy in the leg or the foot or the hand? What's with the shooting to kill in all these instances? s***, the minute the lawbreaker realizes the cops are shooting at him, he's probably going to stop running anyway unless he is suicidal. I dunno. Ive never been shot at but i think I'd keep running too! Anybody catch the movie Captive w Ryan Reynolds? It's at redbox. Holy s*** those cops that devote their lives to finding kidnapped kids are heroes. What a 180 from these beat cops shooting regular folks. That's a cop. Stopping monsters. That movie made me want to devote my life to stopping such horrible things. Give them whatever they need. Give them the suburban traffic cop's 70k armored Tahoe.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 03:50 PM) You have obviously never been a boss of anything other than your own ego. There is no free ride. They exchange their services for money. They do the policing that you don't want to do however need someone to do. While I will agree that they shouldn't act like pricks, your fantasy of butler service shows how removed from reality that you are. I bet you just get down on your knees and thank your boss every day for the opportunity to be employed and bring him coffee and rub his feet and god knows what else. Lol why are you getting so defensive and agitated? I'm actually the exact opposite of what you described- I'm out in the jungle every day negotiating contracts and putting people to work. That's how I contribute- there's no room for ego in business. Apparently there's plenty of room for ego in police work. If you can't see the point of my butler exaggeration I don't know what else to say. Cops being ego maniac tough guys is one extreme while being more like butlers is the other extreme. All I'm saying is the norm should be closer to the butler side of the meter instead of full-prick, where it seems to be trending more every year. Giving these suburban cops new SUVs and tactical gear every year only adds to this IMO.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 08:48 AM) That they should do it because it is a good thing to do, and not a paycheck. If they sign up to do it for a paycheck that's the whole problem man. The only qualification then for becoming a cop is to give up on your hopes and dreams to take the free ride. That's my point. So therefore they shouldn't act like pricks since they are living on our dime, admitting they don't want to participate in the economy. They should act like butlers instead of pricks. You can't have it both ways.

Wow Hawk n Stone laid it on thick just now bashing Adam Dunn. Calling his approach selfish, bad for chemistry etc. They never mentioned his name but man was that obvious.
-
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 11:00 PM) Really? For some cops, yeah. But you think most cops working ANY inner city beat have a 'free ride'? YOU get shot at daily just because you are trying to enforce the laws that others made. A nice car to ride around is isn't enough. The $70k, 80k and pension isn't enough. I'll be one of the first to complain that the police are over militarized, but a free ride? Perhaps you should arrange a ride along some time with an inner city cop. I agree and see your point that inner-city policing is a super dangerous job. I think the discussion here, or at least what I was referring to though, is about suburban and village police where daily danger is hardly an issue. Those are the PDs that suck their communities dry with all their amenities and unnecessary upgrades. But even with your example, it is still a free ride. Unless you think most Chicago cops become cops becuase of some inner calling to serve and protect. I call bulls***. I'd say the vast majority, maybe even 90 some percent (no way to quantify I realize) just wanted a guaranteed paycheck and the right to carry a gun and boss people around. I don't think the danger aspect discounts the free ride aspect, it's just the price you pay for your free ride. You roll the dice. Poverty creates the necessity for police, but those that police should do it because of an inner-calling to serve the people. If that were the case we wouldn't all dislike them as much as we do. I mean don't you always feel like you're treated as guilty until proven innocent most of the time, just cuz he/she can?
