  1. Beasley got lit up and took it like a man. That was wild.
  2. QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Jan 4, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) I would have farted into a wine glass and smelled it. Since, after this offseason, Rick Hahn's farts likely smell like rainbows and fresh cut grass. Thanks, Charlie Haeger's Knuckles What if Hahn offered you the position of his special GM counsel on the condition you had to drink from his fart glass for the first few weeks...would you accept? Edit: thanks, stix
  3. When your post is posted I'd like to post a comment. After my sandwich I will be back. But here's the kicker to flip the Switch... What's Hahn going to do about the Dayan Viciedo situation as I fell it hasn't been discussed. Quality discussion. Thanks, jsticks.
  4. For every area that's seeing gentrification and increasing property values & outlandish rent....there's the opposite area, seeing degentrification and values plummeting, crime rolling in, malls folding up etc. It sucks that people have to shuffle around against their will, but all races have to deal with it. Money talks. That's the rule.
  5. We can always add during the season like Youk & Liriano. We'll probably have a breakthrough prospect or two emerging so we can keep AMD.
  6. Haha man I really wanted to read that article and then noticed it was Insider. Confirmation bias not to get insider
  7. I always suspected our park was hitter-friendly. Good post, thanks.
  8. QUOTE (Douglas Rome @ Jan 1, 2015 -> 01:10 PM) not a troll. thanks, douglas It happened again. Just ask a mod how to delete the "thanks, douglas". That way people won't want to commit suicide on here. You understand. Happy new year!
  9. QUOTE (Douglas Rome @ Jan 1, 2015 -> 07:07 AM) I think Ozzie is funnier, he gets drunk and goes off on Mike North on the air, you can't make this up. thanks, douglas Haha he was the king of quotes. I think you accidentally created a signature when you signed up cuz there's no way you want "thanks, douglas" to end every post of yours. I'm sure a mod could help you fix that!
  10. WTF is with all these ideas?? Tell her to meet you at a Starbucks for a 20 min meet, ya know, to determine if you like her cuz you aren't sure if there's a spark yet. Then after you've had enough of her trying to impress you, decide if you wanna grab a dome or two in the car, or just bolt if you ain't feeling her.
  11. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 08:36 PM) I'll take the pick, and better chance for sustained success. Na man. We can't allow you to disagree here. You must switch over to the dark side We all love the idea of solid drafts producing sustained success, it's not a new thought whatsoever OR an idea that anybody can disagree with. EVERY single sox fan wants the team to draft well and develop talent. Duh. Popping a 3rd round pick to close out the Viciedo Era is a no-brainer. How can you honestly argue that saying F-YOU to Sale & Abreu is a good idea? That's what you're saying, right? You're saying the Sox should trade them and rebuild with 2nd & 3rd round picks?
  12. I would think a package of Anderson & Montas could get a young, MLB-ready Ben Zobrist. 33 is way too old to send top prospects out. I know most teams want him but I also think most teams don't really want to pay top-prospect price. As stupid as it seems, maybe his price really is DV + lol.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 12:34 PM) ? Because they don't have enough infielders or because they're expecting their shortstop to be unavailable opening day due to xxx? XXX= the bodies piling up. Can't let the bodies pile up Sterlin
  14. QUOTE (Douglas Rome @ Dec 28, 2014 -> 04:30 AM) My introduction to this fine forum was not very pleasant . But now that we know each other, I'm looking forward to a very good 2015 season. With the additions made so far, I hope we're not done, there's no reason the Sox can't manage the front page all year. thanks, douglas It's all good man. And don't worry, not a single Soxtalk member will remember this thread in another day or that you were part of it, I promise. Welcome!
  15. I guess there's one by-product from all of Hahn's moves that I didn't see coming at all. Hopefully every addition here translates to an extra 5,000 asses in the seats per game.
  16. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 26, 2014 -> 05:33 PM) The Bulls frontcourt backups, Taj and Niko > than the majority of NBA starting FCs Too bad we're so weak in guards.
  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 25, 2014 -> 04:45 AM) no said he is useless, if fact i like him as a player. however many who are more verse in the advance stats have stated the 3b will be better manned with 2 players. 2 different hitting players. pin pointing my statement i can see, since the other poster is a mod / admin and it appears you didn't want to direct this to him and the other poster just corrected your statement. i can see that. such a classy statement meant to all. Buncha spoiled jagoffs real class. Dude...
  18. Lol bravo? I'm not taking an Internet stance, just saying the dude is very aware of his splits and might be working on it. I don't think those 100 ABs are necessarily wasted going to him, but I agree having a RH infield sub to play against the toughest of lefties is a wonderful idea. I think it's one offseason too early to say Conor is useless full time.
  19. The Conor platoon talk is getting out of control. Apparently most of Soxtalk hit their primes career-wise at 24 years old and never wanted to get better at anything...or you all got fired after a year. Buncha spoiled jagoffs- merry Christmas
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 01:36 AM) His swing path reminds of of a right-handed Mark Kotsay. Just smash everything in to the ground. What's exciting to me about him though is how short, sweet and compact his swing is on outside pitches. He can murder outer-half balls to right field and I feel like that is the key to being great. Most guys can only pull balls and it seems like he refuses to be that typical pull guy, almost to a fault at this point. I would bet Davidson is the opposite which sucks and is pretty typical for young strong guys. Seems like the more correctable problem Avi has. I could be wrong as s*** though.
  21. I see your point man but don't you think 2 douchebags and a top prospect should be the price for a fringey #1 workhorse? Also possible that dominant pitching wasn't as common then so the demand was a bit higher than you're seeing now.
  22. If we get Longoria...I guess we don't really need a farm system anymore.
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 20, 2014 -> 04:14 PM) I've got to be honest, I 100% disagree with you here. Every day Shark goes unextended is a day closer to free agency for him and ultimately some ridiculous offer from another team that we'll be unable or unwilling to match. You waiting for him to "prove it" for whatever reason just makes it more unlikely we'll keep him long-term. Totally understand that point of view as it's the common valid one. But it sure leaves out all the intangibles and bits and pieces of negotiation that actually matter. I mean, that point of view is the same one used to sell & butcher cattle.
  24. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 20, 2014 -> 03:39 PM) I think the Sox think that he is improving as a pitcher so signing him now, when he has a lesser track record, would be advantageous to the team's negotiating leverage. If he goes out and throws 200IP, with 200+ Ks, and an ERA around 3 again he's going to cost even more than his hypothetical market value now. I do think it's all moot, because Samardzija is set on hitting FA. It's interesting how outwardly optimistic the FO seems to be. If the marriage between the Sox and Samardzija were to continue, I would think the extension would come in Novemeber of next year. Yea I get that, but I just don't understand the rush on here. It's kinda creepy because he hasn't even pitched an inning here. Just leaves this uneasy feeling in my stomach listening to this extension talk before any of us know what we have. Makes me kind of want to puke out of embarrassment for our organization if they are actually trying to extend him now. Hopefully that talk is just to appease the Chicago media idiots who think this situation is somehow related to the cubs trying to extend him. No similarities whatsoever. Let's not be the creepy and desperate organization. Let's be pro and make him prove himself first. Mercy of the heavens!
