Yeah I thought about that...but Lee was originally a 3B so maybe he could make the transition. He's still a young guy and you don't really need a great defensive guy at first anyway. If Mo Vaughn can pull it off I think Carlos could handle it. I'd really rather see Konerko go before Lee tho.
If I could have anyone??? I'd wait for Konerko to get hot and then trade his ass for some quality prospects or whatever we could get for him. I'd move Carlos Lee to first base. Then I'd swing a trade for Carlos Beltran from the Royals and try and sign him to a long contract with the money that we have freed up from Konerko. Next year our lineup looks like this:
Jiminez/Miles/Harris/Whoever - 2B
Beltran - CF
Thomas - DH
Ordonez - LF
Lee - 1B
Borchard - RF
Crede - 3B
Valentin - SS
Olivo - C
Graf is a great utility player...a great one...but he's not an everyday player. We've tried to do that in the past and it doesn't work. I haven't really seen Miles play, plus the fact that we have no proof he can hit major league pitching...I've got to go with Jiminez for now.
Why does anybody here even give a rats fat ass what Apu thinks about what is going on today in Iraq ?
Damn good question.
Because he is very vocal on war efforts and I was curious to hear his opinion on this topic...no harm in that I don't think.
Is anybody else astounded by the remarkable similarity in style at the plate between Jiminez and Roberto Alomar. Now I am not saying the he is as good as Alomar or ever will be...but the two look identical swinging the bat.
Anybody else into his rap music? I think me and two buddies of mine might drive down to Des Moines, IA on Friday to catch his show. Nothing much else to do so it should be a good time.
I don't see a problem with that at all. He can still unbiasedly perform his job while having a personal opinion on the war. There is no reason that we should believe the two conflict.
On ESPN at each teams homepage the little box up in the top right that tells you leaders and a number of other things tells you the lineup and rotation if you click on the Lineup thumbnail.
From Mazatlan...it was f***ing awesome. Hot weather, scantily clad women, and more alcohol than you could ever possibly consume in a lifetime. Anyway...good to be back...for the most part.
