  1. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) Is she old enough for me to be thinking what I am thinking?? ;-) I believe she said she's 19.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 09:00 AM) Heeey, IWC. I didn't know you posted here. Not a whole lot (just look at my total posts and my join date) but I'm around. I read more than post.

  4. I guess this is a good place to add this. AOHell really sucks. I went through something similair when I tried to cancel my account. I called them to find out when my contract ended and was eventually told 3 different dates. Then when I did cancel they continued to charge my credit card for a couple of months afterward. I finally called my credit card company and they got my money back for me. Also, Verizon likes to promise you certain credits/savings and then not give them to you when your bill comes in. I had them for the 14 day free trial period. We found out that US Cellular is actually cheaper so I cancelled on the 14th day and ended up with a $700+ bill because they charged me cancellation fees. I called them and complained about it and they had to look into it. A week later they got it down to $50 (for the minutes used) but I had to wait until they sent me a new bill. I finally got rid of them for good a month later.
  5. No lightbulb thread is complete without a link to this page. The lightbulb has been burning since 1901!
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) My favorite is the 'diagnostic' machine. Yep. $80 just to turn the damn thing on. Then when they figure out the problem, they quote you another price to actually fix it. Most of which is labor costs. $50 for the part. $150 for them to put it on.
  7. Whenever I go to a mechanic (which is fairly rare) I tell them what is wrong and ask how much it'll cost to fix it. I usually know what the problem is and can do most of the repairs myself but every once in a while I'll run across something that I'm not quite sure about or comfortable doing myself. The last time I had it in the shop was because I needed a new starter. It was a pain in the ass to get to, there were a lot of wires sticking out of it and it was the middle of winter. BTW, if your mechanic tells you that you need blinker fluid or offers to rotate the air in your tires, get a new mechanic.
  8. Sorry, that's an urban legend. Here's the exact same picture with a similiar story. EDIT: OK, I found it on snopes. The story you posted is wrong... Snopes.com
  9. I've never met anyone personally but I know a few people that went to school with the members of Cheap Trick.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:53 AM) Is it mathmatically possible? With the lower capacity, I don't think they will be able to sell enough tickets to push the average up high enough to get over the 2.9 million mark. They'll have to average about 36,000 a game. If the current average is at 34,615 then they are damn close. They haven't even played the Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals or Astros yet...
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 08:05 AM) In February, a 27-year-old French woman was killed and her sister badly injured when they were run over by a police vehicle looking for a mugger on Miami's South Beach. The officer will not be charged, but the family of Stephanie Tunc has sued the city for negligence. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story. I need to become a cop. I'm amazed at what they can get away with. There was just a story here in Rockford about a cop doing about 80 MPH with no lights or sirens, hitting a car and killing the people inside and getting away with it because he was "responding to a call".
  12. I have a pair that do the same thing. The soles of the shoes have a bunch of small "bumps" instead of the regular tread. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not...
  13. I bought my new vanity and medicine cabinet from Menards...
  14. I think both of my dogs would be stupid enough to just keep running through it. That and their fur is so thick I'm not even sure they'd feel anything.
  15. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Tenta had some damn good talent for a big guy in the ring to pull off some moves not known for big guys + also to not legit hurt anybody with moves. IIRC, one of his moves was really, really fake looking. It was where his opponent was lying on his back and he'd bounce of the ropes, jump up and sit on the guy. Except for the fact that his feet would hit the ground first and he'd still have another 6 inches to drop to land on the guy. I guess if he ever did that move for real there would've been a lot of broken ribs...
  16. Wasn't he something else before he became know as Earthquake? Was he the guy that wore that blue African-like outfit? IIRC, he was a tag team with Tugboat (who also became know as something else).
  17. Why do we say yesterday and last night? Why not yesternight and last day?
  18. ***You Are 34% Evil*** A bit of evil lurks in your heart, but you hide it well. In some ways, you are the most dangerous kind of evil. Not really suprising I guess. I've never been arrested, drunk, done drugs, shoplifted anything (on purpose), shot a gun, cheated on a girlfriend or been in a fight. I threw a couple of eggs at an old guy's house one time but felt bad about it afterwards. My conscience always gets the better of me...
  19. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 18, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) Well then, I guess you've never heard of the Green Bay Packers. My team has a record sellout streak of 44 years. Every. Single. Home. Game. And you better believe it, that stadium is atleast 80-90% full, every damn game. I have never gone to a game there that has been different, and I have been going to games since 1992. I honestly did not know that. I don't really follow football much though... Aren't they also owned by the citizens of Green Bay? I know I'd go watch a team every sunday if I had a stake in their ownership so it makes sense. They also have a Yankees-like history of winning championships. The Cubs on the other hand are the only franchise I've ever seen that actually embraces their losing.
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:38 PM) I took that 1st part as more of a crack at Sox fans. No. Sox fans are just like any other fans. Put a bad team on the field and the fans quit showing up. Cubs fans are the exception to this rule. They are the only team in the 4 major sports (that I know of) that can have 3 million fans show up to watch a last place team. Of course having a major media outlet boasting about how "great" the ballpark is for 20+ years while essentially ignoring the other team in town helps too...
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) Truly riveting last night :rolly ... I'm torn between the 61 year old trying to pass himself off as a 40 year old.. or the one that was looking for some cat action as my new all time favs. :headshake I had to LOL when I heard "You're naked, you're chasing the cat around and you have a tub of cool whip on the table..."
  22. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ May 16, 2006 -> 12:31 PM) I was cleaning my garage a few nights ago and I found my Rollerblades. I remember my wife (then girlfriend) wanted to go rollerblading about ten years ago, so we both went and bought some blades and hit the road. Bought elbow pads and hand guards (or whatever they're called). After, oh, 30 minutes, I realized that I hated rollerblading. I never used them again. I'd give them to Goodwill, but I'd hate to see some bum in a "Frankie Says Relax" t-shirt rolling around town in my blades. In my garage they will stay. A constant reminder that my wife does not really know me and what I like to do for recreation. I have almost the exact same story. Mine are sitting unused in my basement. I used them a few times but that was it. They were fairly cheap though. IIRC, I paid under $50 for them.
  23. QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 12, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) Concerned she might be pregnant, the girl visited a GP three times but tests proved negative. She learned the truth after buying a home-testing kit from a supermarket. She went to a doctor 3 times and they told her she wasn't pregnant. Then she goes and buys a home prenancy test for a store and it says she is so they believe that instead?
  24. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ May 11, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) Bingo. We will never outdraw the Cubs, period. It's happened before (despite what the Cubune will have you believe) and I guarantee it will happen again.
  25. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) If I do decide to buy it, I'll be a first-time buyer. Having many more great games (does psp have any?) made me interested in getting it after having no interest at first and waiting to see what the came out with, and the much prettier design kinda seals the deal. I've been turned off by the touch-screen since the first time I saw it. It was a display model in a store and the screen was all scratched up. I was suprised the touch-screen still even worked... Suprisingly, there are more games for the PSP than for the DS. 367 to 326. I admit I've never played any of them though so I can't comment on how many of them are any good.
