Wow. Law has a rumor that the Orioles are trying to slide Willits.

Law updated his mock with new dirt that might be bullshit. Has Ike Irish going to the Angels at 2, and Doyle to the White Sox.

Also, Kiley has Steele Hall going to Cinci here. That's a new wrinkle. Mentioned they have interest in Carlson as well.

Final Kiley mock. Also has Ethan Conrad with the 44th pick.

I think Steele Hall because just because the board falls to worst case scenario, but hoping for JoJo the most.

Doyle was also asked about pick 44 specifically with the White Sox. Notes that they are into Kruz Schoolcraft, and Michael Oliveto. But goes specifically into Schoolcraft. Notes that it could come down to a bidding war between the White Sox and Royals for him. Also here's a writeup on Oliveto via BA.

Doyle was asked about the Sox and Carlson getting to 10. Says he thinks the big hurdle is Toronto at 8. Carlson is in the Jays mix along with college pitching. Depends on them. Ponders if Jamie Arnold or Liam Doyle are available at 10, can you pass that up? Also notes that the Sox are big game hunting at 44 and trying to cut a deal at 10.

Sounds like the Marlins are really into Ike Irish which is new and fortuitous. They were heavily linked to the prep SS guys up until this point which would help one of Carlson/Parker to fall to the Sox.

Listening to Doyle's podcast from this morning. Sounds like the Angels Scouting Department are all in on Willits, but Perry Minasian wants a close to the majors player to plug in fast. Thus the Liam Doyle/college pitcher angle.

Just catching up on this since I've been out of town getting stabbed. Found it interesting that Kiley has Fauske going 14th to the Rays. He's mentioned with plenty of others teams too. Orioles, Brewers, Tigers, and Twins.

I'm fine with Arnold. It's just that I have no idea where the impact bats/hitters come from if you keep drafting pitching with first round picks. I don't think I dislike any of the rumored targets except Jace. His profile is just terrifying historically. From a pure entertainment value selection, I'd love to see what the Sox do with significant under-slot savings on a Kayson Cunningham pick. Perhaps Steele Hall as well, but I think the savings would be less with him.

Listening further, it sounds like it's gonna cause a lot of havoc or annoyance with the later first round prep types. The Orioles are gonna be calling up a bunch of those offering them more money with them, where in turn agents will be calling up the interested teams with higher picks telling them they have a higher offer and that they will need to match it or offer more for them to sign.

There's a new Doyle podcast out where he says teams are scared of the leverage the Orioles now have with the amount of picks and money they have available. Talks about potentially calling up Carlson or Parker telling them they will have more money waiting for them at 19 than in the top 10 if they can make it to that pick. Then caveats there really isn't historical precedence of floating players that far and for that much money.
