  1. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 08:48 AM) Why do I feel like the team in the top 5 that thinks Swaggerty is the best bat in the draft is us? Really wouldn't be mad about either him or Bohm at this point. Sounds plausible. He did mention Swaggerty in response to my White Sox draft connection question yesterday.
  2. Kiley on a bunch of draft prospects including Bohm, Swaggerty, and India. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/far-too-man...raft-prospects/
  3. I'm cautiously optimistic about Davidson. His approach and at bats have been pretty exceptional this season. This is the year to find out what we have in him.
  4. Some draft items from Keith Law's chat today.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 01:36 PM) How would people feel about Alec Bohm & Alek Thomas with our first two picks? Yes please.
  6. Kiley McDaniel @kileymcd 13m Opinions still mixed on Turang, up and down this spring. Finished strong at NHSI, maybe he’s turning the corner
  7. Seems Kiley answered my questions. Plus this one.
  8. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 05:14 PM) Another 3B? They just drafted a 3B. I mean if they think he's the next Robin Ventura or something, sure. I'm still hoping for Madrigal or McClanahan at this point. To be honest, I was never quite sold on Burger. At least not as a long term 3B. Losing a year of development hurts a bit too. Bohm seems to be much more highly regarded at this point as well. Though I'm still awaiting more of a consensus on his defensive acumen.
  9. Aaron Fitt @aaronfitt 9m9 minutes ago More Aaron Fitt Retweeted Aaron Fitt By the way, we’ve gotten a lot of questions lately about Jonathan India’s #mlbdraft stock. I agree with @DSeifertD1PBR’s assessment in this piece — he should go in the top half of the first round.

  11. It was touched on in the mock draft snippet, but Bohm truly fits the mold of the organization's draft trends of late. Advanced college hitter with great plate discipline and power. Bohm is trending up in all aspects and signs point to top half of the 1st round. I think the only question is the ability to stick at 3B. If he could be at least average there, I would be on board.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 10:36 AM) Get on the Blaze Jordan (MS) bandwagon...the next Bob Horner/Dave Kingman/Pete Incaviglia/Rob Deer, haha. Next year.
  13. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 10:17 AM) BA Super early mock 1.0 1-10: https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/ml...ock-draft/2018/ McClanahan is my top choice if they go pitcher, so no qualm here. He fits the White Sox profile pretty well. If anyone can fix his command issues, it's them. Also interesting that the industry still sees Brady Singer as a top guy. Not as big of a slide as some would think. Also noteworthy that Gorman isn't even in this mock, and that Bohm has moved into top 10 consideration.

  15. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 07:22 PM) With the bat that Beer has he will go top 10.. I wouldn't even hate it if the Sox reached and took him at 4. He's that good of a hitter. He won't last past 10 despite his defensive... shortcomings? As of right now, he's not even close to sniffing top ten.
  16. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 11:41 AM) This is likely irrelevant, as he isn't going to go #4, but Beer has homered in each of his last 4 games. He now has 10 and his average is up to .284. He also has walked 25 times, in 95 at bats, so his OBP and Slugging Percentage are very good. Where do you think he'll be drafted? I'm gonna go with competitive balance round. Someone who really believes in his bat will risk it. I'm not sure with the depth of this class that I would even want him with the Sox 2nd pick currently. Way too one dimensional.
  17. Aaron Fitt @aaronfitt 2h2 hours ago More Florida is all smiles after Jonathan India's 2-run homer puts @GatorsBB up 7-2 in the 4th. India went the other way on a 92 mph Jackson Gillis fastball, lining a missile into the Vandy bullpen. 2nd homer of the weekend for India, who went deep to left Friday. Aaron Fitt @aaronfitt 53m53 minutes ago More Aaron Fitt Retweeted Gators Baseball Jonathan India has impressed in all facets of the game this weekend. He really has become a complete player. I’m betting he winds up going in the first round this June. #mlbdraft
  18. Singer looking much better than he has the past few times I've watched. 11 K's against Vandy. He sure has a herky jerky delivery and a funky arm slot though.
  19. Both Mize and Singer will be on the WatchESPN streaming service for those interested. Singer is such an enigma to me. I've seen him pitch a few games and while he's solid, he doesn't blow me away in the slightest. I never quite understood the 1.1 hype with him. I imagine his stock is mid 1st round at the moment?
  20. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 30, 2018 -> 12:10 PM) I know these rankings can & will change, but who are the top four guys at the moment? Mize, Liberatore, McClanahan, & Hankins/Gorman? Obviously it seems like we’ll probably end up with a pitcher and I’m fine with that. Adding another elite pitching prospect will give us the depth to move some arms to add a cost-controlled bat when the time is right. Sounds about right. Might throw a Madrigal in there. Feel like the Hankins injury dropped his stock a bit. The buzz isn't there at the moment.
  21. Callis been giving his take on Madrigal today. Context is the possibility of him going 1.1. Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB I know what you're saying. But Altuve's path is one of a kind ... A 5-foot-7 guy who may profile better at 2B, you just don't see that type of guy going No. 1 overall. Nick Madrigal can play, no question. Just don't see him going 1-1. @MLBDraft Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB Albies & Madrigal aren't going to have Altuve's power. Bet the under on a small 2B having a .200 ISO every time. My initial comment wasn't meant to denigrate anyone, just to say that profile is not going to wow a team drafting No. 1 overall.
  22. QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 30, 2018 -> 07:05 AM) Is he still hurt? Yup. Broken wrist. Sounds like he's not that far off though.
  23. Teddy Cahill @tedcahill Alec Bohm just went deep for Wichita State. Big blast to RCF. Wichita State leads 1-0 in the first. That's his sixth of the year. Just keeps climbing on draft boards
  24. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 03:57 PM) Is anyone else's mlb.tv stream sounding like chipmunks? Yep.
  25. @MLBPipeline 8m8 minutes ago More Luke Bartnicki, a @GTBaseball commit & one of the top 10 #MLBDraft prospects at #NHSI18, takes the mound at 6 p.m. ET. Watch live here: https://atmlb.com/2J14HW3 Preview: https://atmlb.com/2IYGTC1
