  1. This is on the Manager. Ricky would have taken Bummer out. Anyone would have.
  2. It was so obvious that Kirk was going to get a base hit. No doubt in my military mind.
  3. I'm thinking Burger is too good for AAA. Find a spot for him next year.
  4. Miggy, among other accomplishments, won the Batting Title 4 times. Stud. Hawk loved him. He was fun to watch. I still remember his rookie year at Miami in World Series playing right field. He looked like he was 12. But he could hit, and he made it look easy.
  5. Hernandez has a $6 million team option for 2022. Looks doubtful to me. Pilkington having solid AA season so far. He'll probably be up to Cleveland in 2022 or 2023.
  6. I have zero stats to back this up, but by just watching Vaughn batting in many games, it seems as if he is either robbed by a great play or he hits a screamer right at someone very often. I hope I am right, because this kind of luck usually evens out.
  7. One break Sox got last night was when Timmy knocked in Collins with the go ahead run in the 11th. The right fielder came up with a horrible throw to the plate. Collins did not get a good jump off second, and I was surprised Coach sent him in, but it worked. A good throw would have had Collins, and the inning gets changed.
  8. First, you don't offend me on this issue. The only time you pissed me off was when you called another poster a Racist when you not only did not know him, but you didn't know the facts of the issue at the time, whatever it was. Second, I wouldn't mind a bit if owners disclosed finances. If I were an owner, that might change. One thing that has always irritated me is when they lose money but at the same time pay themselves a huge stipend, just to be able to reflect a loss. I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry does that. It's almost like money laundering. Not quite, but almost. In a perfect world the union should be able to see the cover sheet of the teams' tax returns, excluding all the complicated schedules. This won't happen for a lot of reasons. As it stands right now, I really don't know what the owners disclose in their private negotiations.
  9. ....which is probably a product of collective bargaining, plus private corporations are under no obligation to show checkbook.
  10. Of course, the owners control the money flow. What do you guys suggest, that owners turn the checkbook over to the union or the players?
  11. Yes, but you missed a few adjectives on both sides that are valid.
  12. Alec Hansen with another tough outing.
  13. Nope, but it goes both ways. Both sides are trying to screw the other side out of money. So, you still lead the league in cynicism.
  14. The old argument is that MLB has higher development costs, compared to NFL and NBA. Just sayin....
  15. How would this game have ended if Oakland batters did not swing at Kimbrel's pitches that were waay outside, especially that one on a 3-2 count.
  16. Plus an earthquake or two.
