  1. If he goes to A's, I bet Semien moves to 2B.
  2. Actually, he was tradable with his original contract. He had a clause in there that gave him a $1 Million bonus if traded, which Rockies paid.
  3. The new team gets him for the minimum salary, and Toronto is on the hook for the rest.
  4. Tulo at first hated the trade to Toronto. My understanding back then, based on hearsay (or I just can't remember the source), was that Tulo could not easily get his dogs into Canada. I'm not familiar with dog laws up there these days. I'm not making excuses for him, just sayin'...….
  5. Good stuff, Mark. Enjoyed it. Wow, $375 predicted for both. That's heavy spaghetti.
  6. Casey Stern probably a Cub Fan.
  7. You sure about that?
  8. Well, Brantley is gone, signing with Astros. He would have fit in nicely with Sox.
  9. Yes, but that gap would close, plus they are both better than the alternative.
  10. Actually, there is no long term reason why Anderson could not switch to third. My preference would be that he stay at short, but he could pick up third quickly.
  11. A great read. I sent it to several pals who are baseball fans.
  12. No, Tulo would not just walk away. He's gonna get his money. Toronto did what they did because of the enema factor. They just want him gone.
  13. 1. Alonso makes Sox a better team next year. He's probably still on team in 2020. 2. Call was expendable. 3. If Sox draft Vaughn, he will probably be first baseman sometime in 2021.
  14. Good post, Zisk. I was wondering the same thing.
  15. I'm not with you, partner.
  16. Can't do the ownership thing. Other existing teams have to approve new owners, and they won't start that can of worms.
  17. When he came up with Rockies, I thought he had HOF written all over him.
  18. Tulo's former back up.
  19. Lou Piniella just missed selection by one vote.
  20. Thanks, that's what I suspected. It just seems to me, that if they non-tender those guys at same time, they should know they can protect Thompson by adding him then. Unless, of course, they just don't think he is good enough. We'll see. I just think some team will select Thompson.
  21. Last I checked, Sox were at 37 roster spots. If so, why wouldn't we protect Zach Thompson?
  22. For many years, I had heard that 2866 base hits called for automatic selection to HOF.
  23. Do you like Gorman better than Bryce Bush? Fowler is owed around $50 million. Geez, what a bad contract.
  24. Called him out and probably told Preller to trade him to the White Sox, the only team stupid enough to take him. Then Hahn complied and threw in Tatis.
  25. Even if Shields was perfectly healthy at time of trade, which he wasn't, it was still an incredibly stupid trade. Hahn got off easier than Preller.
