  1. At this point, it's more of a: Offer Giolito and Cease extensions Lynn is set Make Keuchel earn his spot Offer Rodon a QO or one year + mutual option(s) Kopech / ReyLo compete with Keuchel for his spot.
  2. After seeing Michael Reinsdorf's revamp of the Bulls - I feel like this sentence could apply to him. GarPax to AKME was night-and-day different, especially with how they handled maneuvering the cap and the willingness to sacrifice so much future cheap talent in draft picks to make win now moves. I'm not saying it's the correct course of action - but I also wouldn't be shocked.
  3. It means that our Latin scouting and signing department is improving after being an absolute abyss of misery post-Wilder, sans the older and/or can't-miss Cuban signings. Since you want the Tatis trade to be engraved on Hahn's tombstone, you should be glad that the guy who found him is signing more players that are finding success in the minor leagues.
  4. Yes, that's the guy who should get fired.
  5. That tweet really sums it up the best. Let's say you get a nasty breakthrough case - maybe you have a naturally weak immune system. No treatment. Unvaccinated person that has decided to help prolong this pandemic and clog hospitals? Step right up!
  6. I mean, when ChewPawcca is right there and is a much easier mascot to pull off, I think that's the route they'd go.
  7. Be it Romy, Yogurt, Popeye, Montgomery - I'll take whoever can close that revolving door. Since Iguchi left, we've had the great Getz vs. Nix debate, only for it to be settled by moving Beckham to second base. Then after he was there for four years, we haven't had the same starting second baseman two years in a row: 2014: Semien - 2015: Johnson 2016: Lawrie 2017: Saladino 2018: Moncada 2019: Sanchez 2020: Leury 2021: Madrigal Mendick is the only person we've debated as a long-term solution who hasn't gotten to start an opening day.
  8. We know, Ron. I reward you with a gold star and this is how you thank me.
  9. Ok thanks I'll merge. Here is the gold star you and Ron love getting.
  10. https://www.mlb.com/news/luis-robert-is-making-historic-contact-improvements Just imagine if he had had a full season last year.
  11. Sucks that he's one of the anointed faces of baseball. Stardom comes with scrutiny.
  12. He has all the ingredients to be a great SS, but he makes a lot of avoidable errors there as well. If he was still here—which, obviously, I wish he was—we'd be ripping him for his defense and demand he move to second or DH (look at Eloy). We'd also hate his body language right now and call him spoiled (look at Moncada). We would still absolutely love him, but god, you would not be calling him "Alpha Male" for getting so upset about calls that he gets in arguments with teammates and Caulfield would have an entire thread dedicated to Manny Machado or Bryce Harper.
  13. He's probably gonna be pissed off that he delayed shoulder surgery if they don't make the playoffs.
  14. Butcher box is a legit company, but not in my budget. Some time over the pandemic I realized my depression was causing weight gain so I did take it seriously and lost 30 pounds. I was lucky that I had income to address that during the pandemic (and cook lots of healthy meals), but when I was broke, cheap, unhealthy food was a big contributor.
  15. Obesity got brought up. Are we questioning anything that isn't an all natural food? Are the Sox serving meat that is only free-range cattle and chicken? Is the beer vegan beer? I demand answers.
  16. I love that measles, mumps, whooping cough, chickenpox, polio and smallpox would have completely whooped our asses with this line of thinking. We'd have kids in iron lungs and people saying "it's better than doing what the government tells me."
  17. Cal Quantrill, Ty France, Franmil Reyes are worth 8.8 Preller's reputation is pretty much built on fleecing the Tatis trade and building a good farm, but man, his trade record is looking more and more like he just loves buying shiny toys. If we were PadresTalk, we'd be ripping our hair out over trading Turner, Fried, and Grandal for Myers, Kemp, and Justin Upton.
  18. Vaccines haven't been controversial (in the mainstream, at least) until recent years, and that's because of people trying to make money. Before COVID, we got a measles outbreak in New York City.
  19. Trump was going to get every single thing humanly possible to save him. He was the damn president. Here's everything he got: https://www.bbc.com/news/health-54418464 You know what he didn't get from the doctors at Walter Reed? Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. The former host of Fear Factor took horse medication, yes. He also took monoclonal antibodies, which are far, far more important.
  20. Yeah, hydroxychloroquine made sense until they got data and then the data was like "doesn't do anything to help COVID, but people with lupus can't get this drug now."
  21. Also, scientists and some (definitely not all) politicians have been sounding alarms on rising obesity for years now. I love when I see a CDC recall on ice cream, especially Blue Bell, it's like: "I'LL EAT ALL THE DAMN BLUE BELL I WANT." CDC recall on lettuce: "TOLD YOU LETTUCE WAS BAD."
