  1. Fair point re: Insiders. But as a counterpoint, AKME are some of (if not the) worst at asset management in the league. I'll argue that bigger sins were: Not trading DeMar and Caruso once it was clear things were falling apart, extending Pat, extending Vuc and just an outright refusal to get a real #4. Lavine is one of the best pure scorers in the league. Before the new penalties, that contract was gonna happen for any player. It looked a lot worse with his injury + before his return to form, but contracts like Poole, Beal, Simmons, Grant, Draymond, Middleton, Wiggins (depending on how you view him as a player) and I'd even argue Embiid at this point, were/are all right up there. Someone was gonna give him that deal.
  2. Throw in the fact that we know they had two second rounders on the table for Drummond.
  3. Amendment: Apparently the Spurs already owned the Bulls '25 second rounder, for what it's worth.
  4. With the new cap restrictions, second rounders have value as cheap players. But now they need to include it to fix a prior AKME mistake. All the while other teams reportedly had interest in Zach. To really hammer home the fleece job the Kings just did
  5. Tre Jones, Zach Collins, Kevin Huerter They for real did a salary dump.
  6. Kings got Zach and three firsts. The f*** are the Bulls getting?
  7. The Kings really saw the Bulls roll out Zach and DeMar for years and said "we'll do that "
  8. I'm calling the Lakers about Vuc, the Warriors about Zach, and the Mavs about Lonzo, Ayo or Coby (in that order. Also Pat, if Harrison actually doubles down on crazy). I have absolutely zero faith the Bulls could ever accomplish such a thing, but one consideration is that Doncic can't get a supermax anymore. Teams should have their eyes on that summer.
  9. Nico Harrison is the guy that fumbled Curry for Nike. This is just one dead being brain dead. He also said AD will start at the 4 and end at the 5, so you know, really devaluing Lively, Gafford and Washington. What I'm getting at: Nico! Look at Pat's, uh, hot streak. And defensive potential. What do you think about a swap, my man?
  10. This is actually what happened, lmao. https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/mavericks/2025/02/01/dallas-mavericks-luka-doncic-trade-lakers-anthony-davis-max-christie/
  11. To be fair, when a GM randomly zeroes in on Anthony Davis and you're the Lakers being offered Luka Doncic, that doesn't seem like a hard deal to negotiate. "Hey do you guys want Luka? We want Davis to pair with Kyrie." "Wait, what? Yes."
  12. Shams is literally out here tweeting "Yes, this is real." There has to be some insane drama that puts Jimmy to shame.
  13. The Dodgers basically took the Air Bud approach and went "is it against the rules? No? Then we're gonna do it."
  14. If they were operating under the old CBA, I think it'd be a lot different. But new rules make moving him difficult.
  15. Nah. Brad Keller and Justin Morneau will never get the "old friend" tag.
  16. Turns out the Sox need to eat the entire contract if they want Lux.
  17. The Dodgers have 7 on the list besides Roki. They are absolutely unreal machine.
  18. Fundamental and Situational work perfectly fine on their own!
  19. Amaya will be the one player that I give Getz a pass for if he actually hits.
  20. I meant to say at least 45 days, but thank you for the exact number. I forgot that it keeps accruing on the DL (which is why we had the whole Crochet boondoggle).
  21. So, he spent 45 days on the active roster during the Championship Season (which is the regular season?), meaning he's no longer a rookie, despite only throwing 44 innings.
  22. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10152403-nba-rumors-bulls-suns-discussed-bradley-beal-trade-amid-jimmy-butler-buzz There'd have to be wild draft compensation coming back.
  23. If KW is gone, why does Law still hate the White Sox? But in all seriousness, I really, really hope Colson shows up in the make or break year. He's eerily trending down the Moncada path: left-handed (yes, I know Moncada is a switch-hitter, strikes out looking, back pain) and it scares me.
