Asa Lacy to White Sox. Make it happen Jim.
-
Yeah, I'm down with that draft. Will it into existence.
-
You're not gonna like today's mock drafts.
-
Should take if on the board: Detmers Should take if not: Howard Will take: Abel Will be satisfied regardless with any of them or Crochet. Not satisfied: Bailey

As someone who isn't a hockey fan, Blackhawks.

The owners blew this. They could have been the first sport back in a country starved for some sense of normalcy. Might have boosted interest in the sport. Instead, this.

ESPN erases the White Sox once again.

Greg, cut it out. I know you're hyperbolizing this because I know you have the cursory ability to look up that this is not what it means. It's abolishing the current force and starting over. Camden, NJ did it and is in a better place: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-06-04/how-camden-new-jersey-reformed-its-police-department So did Compton: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-52969375 The result: New police forces rebuilt from the ground up. Funds redistributed go the community, but in both instances the police forces actually grew, but had a reformed culture.

Well, that's just not true. If you thought for yourself, there's no way in hell you'd try and use "Holocaust revival" as a legitimate argument against a Jewish person, just because people want equal rights. That's asinine. Additionally, if anything bad happened to you, it'd be your fault, because that's your personal responsibility.

So, why did you turn out the way you did?

MLB fans will act much more civilized.

What's more likely: The Sox are able to help Detmers strengthen his arm and keep him healthy. The Sox keep Crochet healthy, without having him sacrifice his MPH and quality of his stuff. Also, who can learn a cutter easier. Ultimately, that's something the pitching staff and medical staff will decide - and I think could be the deciding factor if both were on the board. @bmags and I were on the Crochet train early this year. I'd still be very happy with that pick, I'd be a little (but not much) happier with Detmers. What I can say is that if we were operating under old rules, Crochet would not be getting big money after his junior year, which you, Tim, have made very clear is your barometer for a successful draft strategy.

He was the consensus #5, Keith Law had him #47. So yes, it was luck that he was at #13. So, I'd say that was more bad analysis on Law's part, which is fine, because drafts an an an inexact science.
-
Sale was projected at #4, he fell to the Sox through luck. Crochet is projected in the back half of the first.
-
Projecting Detmers = Nola is a lot easier comp than Crochet = Sale, even at the time of the draft.
-
They could sign Crochet underslot, Detmers would be a slot or overslot signing. I think using your logic, that makes Detmers better.
-
Not developed entirely in house, but do we get any credit for Quintana? It's clearly flat as an arrow.
-
That's certainly one way to get 2-way players.

Well, Minneapolis' City Council is considering disbanding it's police force. http://www.citypages.com/news/minneapolis-city-council-members-consider-disbanding-the-police/570993291?fbclid=IwAR1lhTV97PGf9fQuDz56ZifAXyADM1Ru4m5JxXpeY3q8uUQjGeuSknvmFao

God this is brutal to hear.

It's an older story, and thus studies, but back in 2014, two studies found at least 40 percent of police officer families experience domestic violence. Edit: Forgot link https://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2014/09/police-officers-who-hit-their-wives-or-girlfriends/380329/

I think my order of preference: Detmers Crochet underslot deal Howard

Police make comparable wages to careers that require degrees which don't involve life and death, so I don't see why we need a salary increase when it's addressing a glaring flaw in the system.
