  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 11:18 PM) Sounds like Sox wanted Groome https://mobile.twitter.com/BostonStrong_34/...511315572547588 They did even better
  2. Uh, if Tito Polo is the 3rd spect...rides entirely on Rutherford's shoulders
  3. If the only spects are Rutherford and Clarkin, that makes this less than stellar.
  4. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 10:34 PM) With Clippard coming back, we most certaintly need more than just Rutherford and Clarkin! +1
  5. If you had told me last year Lucas Giolito would be our 5th or 6th best prospect, people would have been dumbfounded.
  6. Holy s***, Rutherford is a great get. But gonna need like, three more names.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:39 PM) f***. WSD saying all quiet on the eastern front. And the Midwestern front?
  8. I'm not gonna bother speculating because I don't want my dreams dashed
  9. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:02 PM) Look at this post from a yankees forum "If this trade involves any of the following, I'm going to be super-pissed: Rutherford, Andujar, Florial, Clint Frazier, Torres Sheffield, Adams, Acevedo, German" Judge!!!
  10. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 08:58 PM) What the hell do you do if you're the opposition against Betances, Chapman and now these two? Strike really early and pray.

    QUOTE (Soha @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 08:27 PM) The Sox need a closer when D Rob is moved. If Kahnle isn't going to fetch much, which he probably won't due to his short track record of success - to me there's little reason to move him. Sox won't need a closer until 2019.

    QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:13 PM) Another laudatory fangrphs article on Kahnle today...comparing him to Andrew Miller. Reading that, don't want to trade him quite yet. Holding onto relievers in a rebuild is hero worship
  13. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 08:20 PM) ???? 4 eye emojis https://twitter.com/barstoolWSD/status/887466181946478592 God that's getting old.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:58 PM) Another fake Rosenthal? If it were real this board would have imploded.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:46 PM) Nice Fake deal.
  16. QUOTE (striker @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 02:33 PM) I did a twitter poll. Avi + Robertson for Kelly, Flaherty, Bader https://twitter.com/paulriker/status/886778081511452672 Surprisingly, most say White Sox say no. I actually think the Cardinals would say no. You might be able to get Kelly + some lower level guys like Perez, Alcantara and Hudson before you could get Flaherty and Bader. Done.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 01:12 PM) Who wanted to DFA Robertson? He's been good for the White Sox. ...did my memory fabricate this last year?
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 01:00 PM) Was that actually a thing? My dumbass would have dfa'd Avi but I don't remember the dfa Robertson bandwagon as much. Fairly strong last year I believe. Also to just give him the Yankees for salary relief. Now we're talking about eating a bit of cash to get someone like Andujar, Groome or Soto.
  19. Remember when a bunch of people wanted to DFA Robertson? Man times change.
  20. Sale deal has highest potential payoff, but getting the Q deal was a better deal.
  21. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 05:22 PM) I keep reading that this deal was "by far" the best offer on this thread. Does anyone have any empirical proof of this? Because if the Cubs actually gave the biggest return by a wide margin, then it wasn't a bad deal. I'd really like to see some sort of proof of that, though. There was doubt we were going to get Brinson from insiders with extremely close sources. The following prospects would have beat out Jimenez going by MLB Pipeline. - Moncada - Torres (Yankees weren't parting with) - Rosario (Mets weren't buying) - Crawford (Phillies aren't buying) - Robles (Nats weren't in it for Q) - Meadows (Pirates weren't gonna give him up) - Albies - this is the only one that there was smoke to and while you always go for talent when it's as close as Albies/Jimenez, we had a much stronger need for a power hitting OF.

    Also re: trading Kahnle now or in the future. We'd have Arrieta if Crain could have been dealt sooner and Nate Jones was possibly going to being back a Ken Giles return. Then there's Putnam.

    Think Nightengale was pure speculation or fed some KW info?
