  1. Yes No way of knowing Tatis would be the same player if he were a Sox. Hopefully they have learned to never trade with Oakland

who are we kidding here..........the signings will be late March dumpster dives Have we really lost our grip of reality?
  4. let the trade frenzy begin stock that farm - whatever that means
  5. I have no clue how any other GM would operate under Reinsdorf. I doubt any of them really would want the job. But the reality is most organizations would have fired Getz as farm director. Let's not forget he was also a big voice in the Grifol hire and now you know why it took that long to fire him.
  6. other GM, "Can't wait to fleece that guy". They'll try to 3 team trade where the s%*# team always get burned. It's almost like bullying.
  7. Hindsight and opposing GMs talk the talk but then they stop and think about it. I don't hold it against them for taking this risk. It's not like they are the only team that has done this. He would've been traded but the sad reality is a poor farm system and no suitable replacement. Imagine they have this lifetime hole in CF. I do wonder how this organization can produce players that turn into basket cases. In my perfect world there would need to be an owner to by the whole organization and have people in place, fire all of the former people but have them interview for their job. I have no idea how Ishba would repair this organization but he has to starting thinking about it. Who knows how long it will take to repair the damage, The one thing that needs to go is the former player syndrome. The people that were employed as coaches or office is just a reminder of mediocrity. You have to put in people from winning organizations. That's means no Getz with his Royal envy. I'm starting to think Robert is beyond repair. If I think that what is stopping a real GM of thinking the same thing. It will be adding another non prospect this organization is so great at creating.
  8. Good luck with that. It's the opposite and the only purpose to "revive their careers" is to make Birmingham better. Then those revived players hope to get traded to a team playing meaningful baseball. Imagine if one works out and the Sox offer like a 2 year contract? I can't imagine that.
  9. What will happen in 2028? Under 100 losses? Failing miserably at position players and trading future Cy Young pitchers, will eventually run out of the latter.
  10. Look at what the Rockies have to deal with in their division.
  11. This is the first Sox game I've watched since I can remember. They just happen to be playing the D'Backs which I have to play extra for. Don't have to do that to watch the NFL Cardinals or Suns. BTW if you listen to the D'Backs you get more info about the Sox then the Sox broadcast
  12. there is no such thing in this organization unless they are a future Cy Young candidate
  13. but they are very competent ay finding lefties that can't hit
  14. coulda been worse like White Sox worse and the runner makes it to 3rd
  15. not sure of that anymore either, then they have to move them to fill extreme weaknesses. In this age you can never have enough pitching because of the increasing amounts of TJ surgeries.
  16. One thing I noticed watching fall league teams is other organizations are investing in speed.
  17. they also hid the his drinking buddy got a DUI and while in his 70's.
  18. somewhere there's going to be a "please read my blog" author coming up with another rumor that some GM was going to make a great trade for Robert too many hindsight experts habitual losing organizations (and fans) trade players at what they perceive will be peak value for their rebuild of the rebuild rebuild. It never creates consistent winning. It tells fans they can't have nice things. Take some of the best players in the game and if they were on the Sox the above would apply. While the future looks sorta bright the Sox don't have that impact player and who is to say some of those will still be on the team if the good Montgomery makes it to the majors. If PCA were a White Sox he would be shopped around because he is looking for a contract. Despite all of this nonsense I posted JR is a curse like some other owners are. Even with him out of the picture how long will it take for that rebuild of the rebuild rebuild. I don't know if I will exist long enough to know that. I forgot what is was like for the trade frenzy discussions on improving the team on the field instead of making Birmingham better. Do ya think they are like that on the North Side? I don't hate the Cubs but I'm sure jealous of them. Welcome to baseball hell. It has to be beyond miserable for Sox fan- Cub haters. It's baseball hell for veteran and dumpster dive players since their hopes are getting traded to play some meaningful baseball. All we get out of it is ooh we gotta stocked farm - whatever that means.
