You see a lot of 1st round guys drafted SS or OF. (more athletic) I still don't understand why any team would take their worst defensive player and put them at 1B. They handle the ball more than anyone else which means greater chance for error.

You never know. It's that suck factor the organization might adore. It's a way of waiting for young arms to be stretched out who then will probably get traded if they are good. I wouldn't be shocked if 2026 is another 100 loss season.

I'm thinking that will be more disappointment and expose how overrated the farm system is in pitching. I often wonder if Ishbia would ever keep Katz and maybe some other coaches in the farm system.

that's a reality for any sports franchise baseball is the least predictable sport and we treat it like it is we fall for the same patterns of mythical success like the other habitual losing organizations, these are often the same ones/teams the past 3 decades
