Mike Clevinger declines player option.
I think the agent said walk. This is going to be an expensive market for pitchers. Stroman walked away from $21M. It could be pitchers are looking for long term contracts.

Current Mood
Thinking about switching to a different team. If the Sox were a loaf of bread that is poor quality do we still eat and buy the bread? Odd how we worship sports organizations. I think the only thing that is attractive about this organization is the stupidity. People like that

2024 Offseason Plan - "Try" to Compete Edition
too bad he's stupid at baseball

Cease
and let's not forget the Sox are bad a trades We are fans of a habitual losing small market....the team should be renamed Royals East

Tim Anderson Free Agency Discussion
File that under wishful thinking.

Tim Anderson Free Agency Discussion
So what Royal player will replace him and make every fan forget the TA hate?

Mike Clevinger declines player option.
This is where the Sox are not different from many teams. Even those post season teams.

Mike Clevinger declines player option.
We have the symptoms and that's the cure. We like to use the word trade and can't complete any thought after that. Never keep better players with a hope the replacements will be better, Haven't figured out hauls are the biggest myth in baseball. We are fans of a budget team that always makes bad choices. We are no different than the Pirates, A's, I would say the Royals but the Sox are now the Royals. I we need is lot attendants and vendors from the Royals. Our hope in free agency is similar to those teams. It's not the same in LA, NY, or even Cubs or even Philiies. I give the Padres and Mets owers some credit because they got big names. I often wonder if Veeck still owned the would the Sox be more like the Rays. He knew he couldn't afford players and wanted to invest in scouting.

Paul Janish Hired as Director of Player Development
Maybe this isn't the end of the world. Could it be any worse? Maybe he'll do fine. Somehow I get the real successful teams hold on to their top front office people and pay them well.

White Sox Decline Liam Hendriks’ Option
You never know, he might decide to retire instead. No team would do that option.

Mike Clevinger declines player option.
That's almost average in modern day baseball.

Mike Clevinger declines player option.
The small market habitual losing fanbase syndrome strikes again. Next up is the Sox/Royals rivalry in the battle for last place. Clevinger is basically looking for more money in an overpaid market. It's business. Some owner will risk giving him more money than Jerry. I'm sure media heads will throw around "culture".

Muncy back with Dodgers...
He would be another NL veteran that would fail in a Sox uniform. Not everyone leaves a team like the Dodgers. I don't see the doom and gloom in this one.
-
Jake Eder update...
Symptoms of the small market habitual losing fanbase syndrome Trades seem to have a high failure rate in this organization. I like those idiotic owners who treat it more as a sport than a business.

Seems like a missed opportunity
Don't teams usually "rush" college players?
-
Seems like a missed opportunity
He's a bottleneck on the bases. He seems like the typical KW pick. The Sox have a history of trying to develop plays at a position of need. I still remember them, trying Viciedo and Fields at 3rd. They even put Yermin behind the plate at Charlotte. Hopefully Getz doesn't work that way.

Padres Thread 2023
- 2023 World Series- Rangers/Dbacks
Younger generations aren't as interested in sports these days. When I was a kid there was less distractions. We didn't need organized sports. Houses use to have lots or there were fields to play baseball. Schools didn't resemble penal institutions and you could go shoot hoops on a playground.- 2023 World Series- Rangers/Dbacks
Baseball is not as popular as it use to be was the point. Wasn't the 2005 WS suppose to be the lowest rated? Did that matter to fans of either teams?- 2023 World Series- Rangers/Dbacks
Some just don't see that reality. There are 3 other sports going on. You also have college games. TV contracts and advertising were already paid for. There's a lot more to compete when it comes to a person's time for entertainment. WS appeals to most baseball fans I don't care for the NFL so I don't remember the last time a I watched a Super Bowl. There is a difference between being a fan of a team and a fan of a sport. I'm sure there will be even eyes glued in AZ since the Cardinals suck.- Why the Rangers succeeded and the Sox didn't...
Sox are bad at scouting big league free agents or for some reason free agents don't do well here. That's when you need to invest in the farm.- Why the Rangers succeeded and the Sox didn't...
Angels seem to lack improving their farm.- Why the Rangers succeeded and the Sox didn't...
Someone finally figured out that you don't give them anything to hit. Let the other 7 guys try to beat you. That's where small ball steps in.- Why the Rangers succeeded and the Sox didn't...
It can be if you spend $300M and dumpster dive for the rest.- Why the Rangers succeeded and the Sox didn't...
Just maybe baseball is not a predictable sport. Some of these teams that won 100 games were the result of more bad teams than last year. Padres, Giants, Cardinals, the whole AL Central, Yankees, Red Sox - 2023 World Series- Rangers/Dbacks
