  1. Oh and btw, the past 3 first round picks are position players, as are the past 2 second round picks.
  2. Do you even know what you are talking about most of the time? Sox has Eloy, Robert, Moncada, Anderson, Madrigal, Rutherford. The ceiling of this group is as high as most groups of young players in baseball. Your tiring argument is some of those prospects didn’t pan out, while likes of Albies and Torres are off to a good start. But in terms of sheer building around corner positional prospects, you can’t argue that the Sox haven’t been doing that, especially that the Sox gave up $60 mil and forfeited 2 yrs of intl signing for a 20 year old CF prospect.
  3. It’s about whether Padres are a good org or not, it’s the fact that Sox are heavy if positional prospects but you fail to see it. Aside from the Braves, Yankees and Astros also are top heavy with pitching prospects, these are 3 of the best run orgs in the league. So your self-hating comments don’t fly here.
  4. I agree. This shows the Sox are an smart organization. 11 of their top 15 are position players, while only 6 of top 15 for Padres and Braves.
  5. Are you following an 18 year old girl on Twitter?
  6. Considering there hasn’t been a qualifying player with ISO lower than .060 since 2013 I am pretty sure your projection is off.
  7. Somehow Eloy and Kopech have the most boxes to check of all prospects in baseball or any Sox prospects in history including Moncada, Giolito, etc. I am in the camp that the extra year of control does not have a huge impact at the end. It’s rather more beneficial now to let then go through the growing pains now and hope they will be in better position to be successful next season. Also as important is if they come up and show that they are the real deal, it will be sell this rebuild to the top tier free agents here in the offseason.
  8. This. Seriously, the only 3 or 4 players who envisioned to be part of our core who had more than 1 full year of MLB experience so far. Anderson looks like a league average starter, Lopez looks like a solid mid rotation starter. Moncada and Giolito has flashed talent but sure seems like they will need more reps to correct their flaws. the other 75% of the core is still in the minors and things are only trending up. I don't know the point to panicking and throwing Hahn under the bus right now. Unless someone comes back with some stupid shit and blames Hahn for Hansen, Burger, Dunning and Robert being injured.
  9. By no means I think they will likely be our future DH or 1B, what I said is that’s the only role they could play given our OF depth and their defensive inefficiency. Also with the money we have to spend, I would look to spend on 3B, C, and an SP before I do on 1B or DH.
  10. At this point you have to assume Eloy is your LF of the future (God forbids he's not). Since they are not RF worthy, you essentially have to pick one of Palka, Nicky, or Davidson to be your 1B or DH of the future. By that logic you go with the best bat, which in this case is Palka.
  11. Players like him we can quickly find out his value in the winter. If he’s a real prospect he’s going to be Rule 5’d, if teams seen him as an org filler, he could stay.
  12. I’m excited about Bush, but he’s got a lot of work to do on his swing plane. That GO/FO number looks insane.
  13. I am just surprised Abreu is still on the team in 2019 in Ron's world.
  14. It's actually pretty clear that Rick Hahn has been using his burner accounts to downvote and passive aggressively attacking Moncada.
  15. This also have to do with the fact it is the same selected few posters, yourself included, who make making these negative comments. We get it, you are a glass half empty guy, no need to beat that dead horse again. But there is a good chance Moncada turns it around based on comparison to past players. You of all people keep posting like the world is ending after he goes 0 for 4 isn't going to change a thing except for lowering the quality of this forum.
  16. No but it's pretty evident around here that you get off on whining about Moncada and tries so hard to get people so whine with you, and you put that over your fandom for the White Sox, which is questionable at this point. Your posts are negative in nature and do not carry any insight behind it other than constant whining about the same thing.
  17. And are you starting a Madrigal thread in PHT ranting about how Madrigal is a bust and this rebuild has been a failure?
  18. The reason I put 2015 as a possible worst draft is how many of those guys are already out of baseball. 75% of those guys haven't even been on the prospect radar, compared to the 2016 and 2017 drafts. Only guys who has potential to turn that draft around is Stephen and Zavala, and maybe Mendick, Zangari and Dopico.
  19. On the pitching side, last good pick was Gio Gonzalez. The the positional side, you have to go back to Ryan Sweeney or Chris Young. On a side note, boy I thought the 2006 draft was awful for us, but luckily Hector Santiago was the saving grace. 2012 is hands down our worst draft since 2000, 2015 could also be on its way to being historically bad. Others in contention are the 2000 and 2009 draft.
  20. 15.4% BB rate vs 7.7% K rate, with a cool 216 wRC+. Bush's contact rate and plate discipline is insanely impressive for his age.
  21. Cue the Eloy is now struggling because he's disappointed with not being promoted comments.
  22. I can see Sox picking up $3-4 mil on his remaining contract and taking a low minor player in return. That essentially it's a $2-3 mil saving for a player who doesn't add value to this team.
  23. You have it backwards. On 7/2 of any given year, they announce signings for that signing period. Meaning 7/2/2020 they will announce signings of the '20 signing period. Scouting and handshake agreements are worked out before the official signing period that's why you see a bunch of signings leaked or announced leading up to it. Now back to the Sox, Robert was signed as part of the 2016 signing period, our penalty years are 2017 and 2018 (current signing period). We just traded 2018 intl money as we are in penalty.
  24. We're in 2018 signing period. We were also in penalty during 2017 signing period. Keep in mind Robert was signed in May of 2017, meaning it was part of 2016 period. We will be out of the penalty box come 7/2/2019
