Josimar Cousin added to 40man, Luis Patiño DFA
I just don’t think he’s a huge loss. There was nothing impressive IMO in his short look. You can find guys like him everywhere across the league. He’s really name and pedigree over results at this point in his career.

The Rays originally gave up on Patino.

Cease To Padres per Passan
I would hope the Sox would go elsewhere. I'm not a fan of Dominguez at all.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Hampton is really the only guy in that group that I would say would need to be a given, but they really don't have much left in the cupboard. Jones is far from a sure thing. I'd say any team could beat what they have to offer.

Why Sox need a Soxfest...
So... I just got an email from the Sox. I am still a 20-game season ticket holder and I have been invited to a "Winter with the White Sox" - a season ticket holder party being held January 26, which happens to be the same weekend Soxfest is typically held. No other details were given as to what it actually entails.

A Tale of Two Cities . . . MLB Expansion.
No clue. It certainly seemed like Manfred did everything in his power to not help them out though.

A Tale of Two Cities . . . MLB Expansion.
I don't think Oakland stands a chance at seeing another team any time soon, if ever. Why would MLB put another franchise after a decades long battle to move the A's to Vegas? There's plenty of new markets they would rather expand too.

Orioles agree on new lease...
If you believe the article Nightingale posted, then no.

Sox Sign Erick Fedde - 2 years, $15 million
That 2006 team was better on paper too. I’m still mad how they finished that season.

White Sox sign Chuckie Robinson to minor league contract
That probably sets the catchers for this team. Stassi and Lee as the starters with Robinson, Perez, and Hackenberg in Charlotte.
-
Cease To Padres per Passan
Evidently neither did the Sox, considering Rowand was traded for Thome.
-
Cease To Padres per Passan
Probably. I don't see why MIA or HOU for that matter would move either of those guys.

Braves Trade for Carpenter & Kerr From SD
https://twitter.com/Braves/status/1735808242129756541 They certainly love those odd trades.
-
Wacha to KC
Agreed. And they’ve set themselves up nicely to have some quality assets they can move at the deadline if they aren’t in the race come July.
-
Hunter Renfroe to KC
There’s probably more people than we’d expect to take a chance as a GM for a pro ball team regardless of the situation. I don’t think you can say Getz is better than Hahn yet. Different? Yes. But better? I need to see more from him. He was not even qualified for the job IMO, but Jerry wanted a singular yes man and he got it. The biggest question is whether he can learn to operate in the restrictions that Jerry puts on him - something Hahn could never learn to do.

Cease To Padres per Passan
I certainly wouldn’t mind the Rangers getting involved.

Glasnow traded to Dodgers
The difference with a prospect getting hurt is you aren't depending on that prospect to be a difference maker immediately, nor are you depending on them to be used as trade bait. Eh, I disagree. Glasnow is set to make $25M compared to Cease's estimated $8.3M. Glasnow also has a massive injury history that Cease does not.

Glasnow traded to Dodgers
Definitely risky.
-
Tigers Signing Flaherty
They may never sign another free agent again. A guy like Flaherty making $14 after the season and red flags he had is nuts.
-
Tigers Signing Flaherty
Per Trevor Plouffe on Twitter. I honestly thought he was gonna come to the Sox to be with Katz.
-
Glasnow traded to Dodgers
They obviously heard something and tried to jump the gun to get ahead of the bigger, legit insiders.
-
Yoshinobu Yamamoto got $325 million 12 years from Dodgers (+posting fee)
Isn't this MLB TV?
-
Glasnow traded to Dodgers
Say the Sox hold onto him and he goes down with TJ in spring. He misses all of 2024, and 2025 is nothing more than him coming back and shaking off the rust. His value is gone just like that.
-
Glasnow traded to Dodgers
No. More like a lack of desperation by the teams that fit the best return the Sox are looking to receive. Baltimore prospect hugged at the deadline and it blew up in their faces. So far they are doing it again. If LA doesn’t feel the need to make a competitive offer after acquiring Glasnow, then that isn’t going to sway Baltimore to suddenly change tune.

Glasnow traded to Dodgers
The Rays always find a way. Opener or not he'll probably be turned into a stud.
