  1. I would think so, but you don't need to put a guy on waivers to DFA them.
  2. The Sox put him on waivers, if that isn't an indication of what his future holds with the club, then IDK what is. With the new rules eliminating trades, you only put a guy on waivers if you want him gone.
  3. I hope they just decide to DFA Yas when he's ready. There really is no reason to keep him around the final month with him being a FA.
  4. This is what I thought, but I haven’t seen “irrevocable” mentioned at all. Then there’s people saying that Gio and Lopez were released. Guess we’ll find out for sure on Thursday.
  5. How exactly do waivers work since they changed the rules? Are these guys FA no matter what if no one claimed them, or can teams pull them back?
  6. No one in the Chicago media will dare have the balls to go down that road. It’ll be nothing but underhand softball questions.
  7. At that point he was consistently pumping 99+ with a very sharp slider. The upside was very real. This version of him is a shell of what he used to be, add in his refusal to have a 3rd off speed pitch like a changeup and this is what you get.
  8. Every GM has misses. Rizzo is probably the one guy with past Sox connections that might actually be able to make a difference.
  9. Salvy Perez with the Royals paying the majority of 2025-2026. I hate it. So I could see it happening.
  10. Yes. Only on mobile.
  11. Already have mine ordered. I was at one of those games he did this.
  12. It sounds like Nightengale was running with a bunch of nonsense. Maybe JR does ultimately choose him, but as of this point nothing is imminent like Bob’s tweets suggested. I think we can all take a breath and hope that an actual search takes place.
  13. https://x.com/scotbertram/status/1694789844415676683?s=46&t=YB66BSH8MdsOmPwZtTqy1w Moore has not heard from the Sox.
  14. Man they REALLY dislike Perez. I know he isn’t the best catcher out there but you’d think the kid would get a small look to see what he’s capable of. He’s had success hitting the ball in Charlotte.
  15. I hope you’re right. I just don’t see it. If there’s one constant to being a Sox fan it’s that you will always be disappointed.
  16. You ever see the end of Old Yeller? Oh well…
  17. That’s George Lucas’ wife. Born in Chicago too.
  18. I don’t think MLB would allow it anyways. Manfred wants to expand, not move a 124 yr franchise out of a huge market. It would be more beneficial to just add a team and keep Chicago. I totally think them leaving for the west suburbs could be a real thing though. Just look at all the cities vying for the Bears.
  19. You’d think Hahn would know after how many decades in the organization that JR is never going to give out a $100M+ contract.
  20. And it’s amazing the amount of “stay out of Chicago business” people are out there that ignore the issues that are hurting the city. I never thought I’d see the day that people get attacked for having an opinion that crime is bad.
  21. We have a winner. Nothing will change until Jerry is dead. This is a big ol fugazi attempt to give the illusion that change is coming.
  22. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Eloy to IL. They said day-2-day, but we all know how amazing this training staff is at completely getting the diagnosis wrong.
  23. I don’t think Fernandez is much of anything outside of minor league filler. He’s played a ton of 1B this year too, so despite earlier reports I think that tells me everything I need to know about him.
