I don't know how anyone can properly evaluate Pedro right now. The bullpen is a complete mess right now, and they would make any manager look bad. If they pitched just middle of the pack this team would be sitting at .500 ball right now. Considering the human turd this team had the last two years running things, I'm willing to give Pedro a huge leash to try and right the ship. I can say with 100% certainty that TLR is by far the worst Sox manager I've ever seen in my lifetime.

I'd rather see Banks up personally. Diekman is a sunk cost and they are trying to get to some bridge between him and Crochet most likely. I agree though - such a short leash with Ruiz, you'd expect the same with Diekman.

Don't forget the Dodgers traded Jordan Alvarez for Josh Fields (the pitcher). Every team has their fair share of L's on the trade front or through talent evaluation if you look hard enough. The Sox biggest problem is the inability to spend over those mistakes. It's been that way for 40 years.

I think that Marcus Semien comp I've seen floated around makes a lot of sense. Nothing particularly special, but extremely solid.
