They're gonna have to bring in some veteran-type. You can't go into the season with Korey Lee and Carlos Perez as your catchers. Maldonado was (at least before last year) a very good defensive catcher. I'd rather have him as a backup then see Perez on this team. At least he'll be cheap.

They got slapped in the playoffs because they failed to add to rotation talent, and it’s not exactly like there is a can’t miss option in the FA pool. Cease had a rough year last year but the stuff is still there and his 2022 performance was elite. If they want him, pay up.
