  1. You’re stopgap until Monty is ready. At least he plays solid defense. Sad thing is his production would be a huge upgrade compared to the shitshow we watched last year.
  2. Wait, they actually hired a guy who was known for the stuff that he will be in charge of? What madness is this?
  3. What happens is I go on a 24 hour bender celebrating.
  4. I thought I remember seeing that Hahn nearly moved Tim right before KW traded Burger. We had real smoke around Cease right up to the end too. But considering the two guys that were responsible for this years deadline are gone, I think it's too soon to really know what this new FO are planning on doing. I'd guess Tim is for sure gone. And I think they'd like to jettison Moncada and Eloy too just based on their lack of work ethic.
  5. Saw this earlier today. Certainly is interesting, but not enough to make me want anything to do with the guy.
  6. He’s hoping the Sox pick that option up because he isn’t worth it on the FA market.
  7. Bannister might literally tell them to stay away.
  8. Yep. And he honestly might be a positive influence for the clubhouse. But what is really worrisome to me is what the Sox will give up for him. No chance in hell Jerry takes on that contract, which leaves Getz with the only other option of trading valuable assets to get salary relief.
  9. I honestly think we may see a historic loss season next year.
  10. The Sox won’t get anywhere near the top rotation arms available this year. Nola would be a pipe dream. They are going to shop on that classic C list group and sell it as quantity over quality.
  11. I don’t think it’s just the velo drop. The league has adjusted to him as well. I think teams realize or know what to look for and just sit on a pitch. There’s a handful of guys who lose velocity late in their career and learn to pitch better or differently to compensate. He hasn’t done that IMO.
  12. Tony was the worst manager I’ve ever seen. I’ll never get over the decision to walk Turner when he was down 0-2. That was the ultimate brain-dead move I’ve ever seen.
  13. Sox had to wait 10 days in order to call up Remillard again. It was just a formality.
  14. I would think so, but you don't need to put a guy on waivers to DFA them.
  15. The Sox put him on waivers, if that isn't an indication of what his future holds with the club, then IDK what is. With the new rules eliminating trades, you only put a guy on waivers if you want him gone.
  16. I hope they just decide to DFA Yas when he's ready. There really is no reason to keep him around the final month with him being a FA.
  17. This is what I thought, but I haven’t seen “irrevocable” mentioned at all. Then there’s people saying that Gio and Lopez were released. Guess we’ll find out for sure on Thursday.
  18. How exactly do waivers work since they changed the rules? Are these guys FA no matter what if no one claimed them, or can teams pull them back?
  19. No one in the Chicago media will dare have the balls to go down that road. It’ll be nothing but underhand softball questions.
  20. At that point he was consistently pumping 99+ with a very sharp slider. The upside was very real. This version of him is a shell of what he used to be, add in his refusal to have a 3rd off speed pitch like a changeup and this is what you get.
  21. Every GM has misses. Rizzo is probably the one guy with past Sox connections that might actually be able to make a difference.
