  1. I didn't catch the postgame, does anyone know if there are any clips of this? How embarrassing is it you got called out by the greatest hitter in the organization and a HOF player?
  2. Nice to see Ramos with a HR.
  3. I think I’m leaning towards him being fired. This is like Hahn talk.
  4. I think the biggest issue with Vaughn is that he is a 1st round pick. Had he been, say a 3rd or 4th and put these numbers up there would be far less complaining. His expectations are obviously going to be high than what his current production level is (and rightfully so as a 1st rounder). I think people just need to realize that he most likely isn’t going to be anything special. The Benny hate is weird too. He’s been disappointing with the power and fielding but it’s really hard to point a finger at him as the reason this team sucks. I think it’s fair to say that his contract probably could have been allocated to other areas of the team, but I wouldn’t count him as a negative on this team. What other alternatives does this organization have? No one wants to see Eloy out there in LF, and the internal options of Hamilton, Fraizer, Reyes, Haseley aren’t going to out produce Benny.
  5. I’ll disagree, and double down. Why isn’t Ozzie employed by one of the other 29 other teams if he is such an amazing manager? Sox have the best kept secret in baseball hidden away in their pre and post game shows?
  6. A body to fill in once the big pieces get shipped out.
  7. Yeah, I’ll take sabermetrics over old school methods ANY day of the week. Seems to be working pretty damn well for the Dodgers, Rays, Astros, etc. Ozzie’s antics would sour pretty damn quick on that clubhouse. You’re talking about a clubhouse filled with millennials. Screaming and yelling only gets you so far with certain type of people. And those type of people are rare among todays younger generations. Not saying I don’t think this team doesn’t need a kick in the ass but old school methods don’t have the same effect as they did 20 or 30 years ago. Ozzie lacks the aptitude to change with how the game is played. If he was such a great option 29 other teams would have given him a chance by now. Thanks for 2005, but people seriously need to move on with him already. Or maybe the Bears should ask Ditka to come be their coach too?
  8. He’d be a complete disaster though if brought back. I love Ozzie, but his ignorance towards saber metrics would leave him at a massive disadvantage. We all saw how overmatched TLR was and Ozzie would be no different.
  9. Wow… There’s a name I completely forgot about.
  10. About time the Sox go get some upside.
  11. What did the Sox do with Shirley? Is he locked in a closet somewhere? This draft has not gone how anticipated.
  12. I don’t think a senile old man who falls asleep and shits his pants in the dugout, and makes horrific in-game decisions like IBB someone with a 0-2 count is all that intimidating.
  13. If both do end up working out and make it to the majors, it’s a good problem to have. They can figure it out then. I don’t think he sticks at SS personally, and I think the Sox will end up putting him at 2B. A possible IF of Gonzalez (2B), Montgomery (SS) and Ramos (3B) would probably be the ideal scenario IMO.
  14. Certainly seems that way. Crazy to pass on both Skenes and Crews, but they kind of did the same thing when they drafted Davis a few years back.
  15. Zavala doesn’t belong in the majors. I’m plenty ok with him never playing again for the Sox ever.
  16. Paywalled, so I’m not sure who he has going to the Sox.
  17. If Tony loved it, we all should have known how bad it would have ended up. I still can’t get over how that HOF hack was the beginning of the end of the competitive window.
  18. He's absolutely not finishing this year on the Sox. They better get something for him.
  19. Ozzie would be a massive dumpster fire.
  20. Would be great if he could be another cheap, controllable piece for the future.
  21. They don't have the guts to drop him lower. It's really puzzling. IDK if he is truly that much of an issue or distraction in the clubhouse that they don't want to rock the boat or they're that dumb that they want him in the 2 hole.
  22. I'm sure there's teams that look at him as a change of scenery guy. I'd be curious myself what would happen if you surrounded him with superstar talent (i.e. the Dodgers) and just let him play, batting 8th or 9th with zero expectations or pressure. He did really well in the WBC in a similar setting.
