  1. They certainly seem to have the pitching side of things figured out. Lots a great performances and development going on in the lower levels.
  2. Anyone who intentionally walks a batter in a 0-2 count does not know baseball, period.
  3. Which is terrifying. He won’t go over $100M. He won’t go more than 4 yrs for pitchers. Throw in no extensions for young players… they aren’t signing anyone or anything significant ever again.
  4. Even if he was cheap, I don't think he has any desire to take a team friendly deal and stay in this organization. I certainly wouldn't in his shoes.
  5. Sox only paid him league minimum with ATL covering the remander. I get what you mean, but it could have been a lot worse. This guy will never play in another MLB game again.
  6. The call is fine... he just needs to stop getting excited for EVERY. SINGLE. THING. that happens on the field. How he can't figure out the difference between a pop-out from a HR yet blows my mind. I'm hoping he's a one-and-done with the new network deal. Massively under-qualified individual compared to some of the other talent out there.
  7. More likely the 20th anniversary of the 2005 team as the centerpiece for Soxfest.
  8. Was thinking the same thing. Colson not working out would be quite the setback IMO.
  9. Probably why Schriffin was hired. Jerry wanted a guy to scream and get excited over everything to combat the suck on the broadcasts when he watched.
  10. As someone who had to deal with vestibular neuritis after a nasty sinus infection... I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Permanent damage and a solid 2-3 months of therapy just to feel normal again.
  11. It's been such a long time since I remember the Sox having an affiliate absolutely dominate like that.
  12. Not necessarily. If both of those guys are listening to coaches, putting in the work, and trying to perform but failing, then why would the coaches have issues with them? Their effort is there, they are trying, they just aren't getting it done. I don't think Colas is a guy who is willing to put it all out there to effectively get better. Like I said - I think this is a Yermin Mercedes 2.0 situation all over again and none of us know what has actually went on (in 2023) with him. Jared Kelenic was described as the same way in Seattle when he first came up.
  13. I don't think it's ever been a talent issue, it's a between the ears issue. Hahn anointed him starting RF well before 2023 ST. He did well, but the league figured him out quickly, and now we have a kid who either isn't making the right adjustments or is too dumb enough to listen. It's Yermin Mercedes all over again.
  14. I just need them to hit 62 wins so my over bet hits ?
  15. He’s on a little over $1M deal, he’s a pretty low risk option for a team looking a little help.
  16. I 100% agree. Kopeck is good as gone with how valuable relievers are at the deadline.
  17. Sitting and doing nothing has never solved any problem. At least you can fire and remove one aspect of the team. The guy isn't qualified to be a manager. It doesn't matter the talent level of the players. Rid yourself of whatever filth you can and at least send some sort of message the organization has a pulse.
  18. The logical choice is Cannon, especially with Clevinger going to be added fairly soon.
  19. That was a fun game. Let's try to do more of that please.
  20. Isn't there a specific amount of time required before he can be called back up unless filling in for an injury? Pretty sure they have to wait more than a few days.
  21. Wonder who goes. Mendick needs to be added to the 40-man.
  22. They were after Whit. He picked the better team. As pretty much every FA would have done. Only reason Pham is here is because no one came calling in the offseason and the Sox can pretty much guarantee playing time for him to prove his worth so he can get traded to a contender.
  23. We can't fall victim into believing that all of Nastini, Cannon, Thorpe, etc. are going to be hits. I'm totally fine with trading Fedde if a competitor offers a decent package, but the Sox need some sort of veteran presence that can give you 150+ innings. Let the arms force their way in, and keep amassing as much depth as possible.
