  1. I think Scott Boras is corrupt and unfair. You've worked the system for millions, quit crying.
  2. Thank God. That guy gets worse and worse every year.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 01:22 AM) LeBron crying about fouls by Taj and Kirk are hilarious. He tries to level people with his shoulder but can't take it. Carlos Boozer is having none of LeBron's s***. I'm glad I didn't watch this on ESPN. Watching that clip reminds me just how much I absolutely HATE Jeff Van Gundy.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 01:43 PM) It gets much better in the coming episodes. Caught up through episode 4. You're right, it's and excellent show.
  5. I wouldn't worry about it to much. If Flowers is DH and needs to sub in as catcher, you just lose your DH for that game. A pitcher taking a couple of at bats aint the end of the world.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) Colin was on Mike and Mike this morning replacing Golic, and Legler was contributing as well...they were talking about the two 3-peat Bulls teams matching up against these Heat. Legler was commenting on how we wouldn't have been able to play a center against Bosh, but that our length on defense would have terrorized the Heat. Imagine the matchups for the second 3-peat team...Jordan on Wade, Pippen on LeBron, Rodman on Bosh, Harper on Allen...what an incredible series that would be... Rodman guarding Bosh would make Bosh cry. Rodman would beat him down.
  7. QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 08:17 AM) I assume you mean Peavy, or are you referring to the recent Sale extension? No argument. Back to Lohse, I wonder how much good agent Boros did for Lohse. He was certainly looking for more money than the Brewers gave him. I can't remember what the Cards offered Lohse/Boros. I believe the only offer the Cards made him was the qualifying offer they had to make in order to get the comp pick. I think that was somewhere around $13 million.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) Anyone else watching Vikings on History? I am actually digging the series so far. Better than I thought it would be. I watched the first episode and have the rest DVR'd. I agree, it didn't look like much from the previews, but I was pretty impressed with the first episode. Doesn't hurt either that Lagertha (sp?) is hot as hell. I'll have to catch up.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) [/b] Better to let the NBA go. It is waste of time to watch anymore, especially with Rose turning into a Golden Girl instead of an MVP. This. I've gotten sick of the Heat hype and the Rose drama this year and for this first time ever have devoted more time to the Blackhawks than the Bulls.
  10. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 11:18 AM) I can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't blame him at all for leaving Cleveland with the clusterf*** of a roster that they had. Joining two other studs in Miami was slightly annoying, but at least he didn't end up in LA like every other superstar. I don't think most people have a problem with Lebron leaving Cleveland, it's the way that he did it that made him a douche nozzle.
  11. http://aol.sportingnews.com/nba/story/2013...a-illinois-star Apparently Kendall Gill and Tim Doyle got in a fist fight over the Noah basket interference call. Gill suspended.
  12. Call me crazy, but I think this could be a 90 win team therefore I chose 89-92
  13. QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 11:04 AM) I've thought for about two years now that if you let Flowers play everyday, he would hit about .260 with 20-25 homeruns. I'll give ya the 20-25 homeruns, but .260 seems a little high at this point. I see him being around .230-.240 this year.
  14. I'd say they have Flowers pretty accurate. He should be able to put up around a 2.0 WAR defensively. His power and decent walk rate means he should be able to produce at or slightly above Major League average offensively. Combined I realistically see a 2.5 - 3 WAR for him, which I am more than content with. Maybe even higher.
  15. Not gonna pay to read a Phil Rogers article, but even without reading it I can tell you Phil Rogers is a moron.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 11:59 AM) Jordan retired in his prime and denied bulls fans 2 years of play to figure his s*** out. To compare getting over a knee injury to getting over the murder of your father is a little ridiculous.
  17. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 12:18 PM) Proof? I don't know him personally. But judging from what he has said and done so far in his career, my analysis is far more plausible than what you have thrown out there, which apparently stems from your lack of patience to await his return. Too many people expected him to return by January, or after ASB, and March hits, there's a chance he's not coming back this year at all so people are just getting frustrated because they won't see him play this year. He is physically cleared to play, but no one knows his body except for him. His biggest issue right now is he's not able to put too much pressure on his left knee mentally, which leads to overcompensation of other parts of his body, i.e. hamstring. That's also why he's experiencing burning hamstring after practice. This will actually lead to a higher chance of injuring other parts of his body if this continues on. So while his knee has healed, he needs to be mentally be able to use his knee the "Derrick Rose way" before he should come back and play. People are comparing his injury to Shump Rubio and AP, but just go look at a Derrick Rose jump cut, he puts pressure on his knee far more than others do. If he's not able to do the things he's able do before, then he should not come back. I am one of the few people who actually appreciates his maturity in handling his return. He could have just made decision like any other headstrong young kid and rush back to play before he's fully ready, but now he's making sure he's taking the safe approach for the long term interest of the orgranization and the fan base. Grow some patience man. You will appreciate this when he's fully healthy again in the future. Thing is, if he waits until he's at the point he was before and without any discomfort, he'll be out for 18+ months. He's never going to know until he actually plays.
  18. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 10:53 AM) I think you need to stop making general statements without taking into account who Derrick Rose is as a person. We all know family comes first in the Rose family, because of everything they been through in Rose's upbringing. You also have to remember the impact Reggie has have in Rose's life. This is the guy who looked after him his entire life and even took over his AAU team so his brother could play. That being said, that doesn't mean they have the same personality and same opinion. And the fact that Rose hasn't told Reggie's ass off for giving his family a bad rep also goes to show you he will not disrespect his family, and logically his organization. That's not who he is as a person. Do you know Derrick personally? Because I know I don't. I've always heard he was a class act and family man and blah, blah, blah, but then he did have somebody take the SAT for him so he could get into Memphis. So honestly I really don't know what to think about his moral fiber. Bottom line is that I'm just getting sick and tired of this crap. He really needs to ass out there and play. He's to the point of no higher risk of re-injury and he says he has no limitations. What the hell is the problem? He's never going to have his confidence back until he actually gets out and plays. I think he's just afraid to fail and I don't like that. He's the biggest superstar in Chicago since Jordan, and if I were to ask myself would Jordan being playing by now if all circustances were the same, I know the answer would be yes.
  19. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) I think you are the fool here. Like other mentioned here, Reggie Rose comes across as a jerk who speaks whatever on his mind. But over the last 4 years, Derrick has never shown any disrespect towards anyone in the organization or anyone in the league for that matter. He has always had the quiet, laidback personallity. Saying whatever Reggie has said is out of character for him. I think it's highly unfair to question his character based on what Reggie said, unless the words come out of his own mouth I think you are fooling yourself. Thing that bothers me is that while Derrick did come out and say that those were Reggie's opinion he never said that Reggie was wrong.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 07:49 AM) You can call me a fool, but Reggie and Derrick have had totally different reputations forever. It is entirely possible Reggie is taking advantage of Derrick's fame, thinking his opinion matters and spouting it to anyone who will listen to him. Derrick is the little brother. He defers to Reggie. It doesn't necessarily mean what Reggie says Derrick thinks. It seems Reggie tells Derrick what to do and say, not the other way around. Derrick's the one with the money. Reggie works for Derrick. Reggie may have the I.Q. of a piece of construction paper, but I think he's at least smart enough to realize he can't risk pissing Derrick off or the gravy train is over.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 06:22 AM) Of course Derrick said that. He is maintaining his public image while letting Reggie speak on how they truly feel. Agree with you 100%. Anybody that doesn't think Reggie is Derrick's puppet is a fool.
  22. Anybody else looking forward to Bates Motel on A&E?
  23. QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 7, 2013 -> 10:55 PM) meh, would've liked more years since we'll lose 1.5 to TJ... but... not bad. How often do teams sign pitchers to more than a 7 year deal? I would guess almost never. To me its a perfect contract. If he can't still healthy the Sox can parts ways at 5 years costing themselves almost nothing in the buyout.
  24. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 8, 2013 -> 01:48 AM) I loved the Ssssh album but I think my favorite was Stonedhenge which preceded it. Rock on, Alvin! Yeah, Stonedhenge was a great album also. I've never been able to pick out a favorite TYA album. I just love Cricklewood Green, Ssssh, Stonedhenge and A Space in Time (even though it was a little more commercial). The only album of their's I never really got into too much was Watt.
  25. My second all time favorite guitarist. Nobody could play like Alvin and I mean nobody. Listen to the album "Ssssh" and you'll know what I mean. One of my main inspirations to start playing guitar.
