2013 TV Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 07:24 AM) Anyone watch Rectify? I DVRd it I DVR'd and watched the 2 hr premiere that Sundance played Monday night. I really liked it. It was a little slow moving, but I like that type of show. I don't think it will be a huge ratings hit, but I could really see it developing a solid core, cult type following.

How Much Rope Does Dunn Have?
QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 10:19 PM) I'd be really interested in seeing how he would perform in a Charlotte assignment. We really don't have anyone to replace him though. The Sox cannot option Dunn to the minors. Any player with 5 years experience can only be optioned with their consent. I would guess there is very little chance Dunn would approve a minor league assignment. QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 06:58 AM) If Hahn doesn't have the ovaries to get rid of Dunn, at least put him on the DL for 2-3 weeks and see what happens. There is really no point in getting rid of him right now. You're going to pay him anyways so you might as well keep him and see if he can come out of his funk. The Sox aren't going to win anything without a productive Dunn in the lineup. Not to mention the fact that getting rid of Dunn would not be a Hahn decision. The decision to eat $25 million+ has to come from higher up than the GM.

Game Thread 4/24: CLE @ SOX
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) Stubbs climbed up on the fan deck to catch it. Damn! I would have like to see that.

So game cast is showing Konerko's fly out as being past the wall. Is it off that far or what happened here?

Dunn with two walks in a game? If he keeps that up, he may get the OBP over .200 before we know it.

Game Thread 4/24: CLE @ SOX
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) Upton was a good player way before he met Greg Walker. Upton was good, but not other-wordly like he's been this year. I was speaking more in general terms than actually saying Greg Walker is the reason for the season he is having.

Game Thread 4/24: CLE @ SOX
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 02:26 PM) Hitting coaches don't matter. There was a recent narrative coming out of ATL about how Greg Walker massively has helped Justin Upton. And I believe that just as much as I believed the people here that demonized GW when he was here as a Sox. I agree to an extent. I think in general they don't matter all that much, but to certain players, finding the right one that they mesh with is really important. Kind of like how the only guy that could get through to the Big Hurt was Walt Hriniak. Maybe Greg Walker is Justin Upton's "Walt Hriniak".

Those are the type of jams Q needs to pitch out of if he wants to break Hershiser's scoreless innings record. 17 1/3 down, 41 2/3 to go.

2012-2013 NBA thread
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 07:07 AM) http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/4/23/4259...g-himself-bucks People are really watching that series? lolbucks 6 games under .500 playoff team The 85-86 Bulls were 22 games under .500 and made the playoffs. What did Jordan do in game 2 of that opening series? Oh yea, dropped 63 on the Celtics. I bet a lot of people regret not watching that game just because they knew the Bulls didn't have a chance in the series.

2012-2013 NBA thread
Don't know if anybody watched the Bucks/Heat game last night, but since when can you be assessed a technical and then whine and have it taken away? Not that the one free throw would have made a difference, but to me its still bulls***. For anybody who didn't see it, Lebron was jumping up and down and said something to the referee and was assessed a technical. They never shot the free throw and then after the commercial break, the Bucks announcers said apparently Lebron convinced the refs to not give him a technical.

Viciedo to the 15 day DL
QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 07:51 AM) If this is a muscle tear, or a pull, Viciedo would likely go on the D.L., for an extended period. Then maybe my wish for the Sox to sign Grady Sizemore, for the second half, might come true. I know that many on this board think that he is finished, but at 30, I would think that he would still be an offensive force. I'd love to see him bat right in the heart of the order: LF de Aza 2B Keppinger RF Rios CF Sizemore 1B Konerko SS Ramirez DH Dunn C Flowers 3B Gillaspie Great defensive outfield, improved OBP, better balance of right and left handed hitters, and more speed. Enough with the Sizemore talk already. It isn't going to happen. The guy can not stay healthy and when he actually has played the last few years he has been absolute garbage. Not only do you want to sign him, but you want him to be our everyday starting center fielder and our CLEAN UP HITTER. Give me a f***ing break.

2012-2013 NBA thread
QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 08:30 AM) I wonder if Rose has put this off for the playoffs on purpose. Makes no basketball sense, but makes a ton of sense as a way to get lots of attention and possibly become a hero while the stakes are low. I've always had it in the back of my mind that he was going to comeback for the playoffs to try and be the hero. I really thought that he would come back for the final game of the season just to have a warm up game first.

(Insert Celeb Here) is Dead
Storm Thorgerson passes away at age 69 from cancer. For those unaware of him, he designed the cover art for many of the greatest albums ever recorded with his most famous probably being The Dark Side of the Moon. Designed albums covers for Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Audioslave, Muse, Steve Miller Band, Peter Gabriel, Phish and many others. As a huge Pink Floyd, this is rather sad news to me.

Jury Duty Coming Up
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 11:16 AM) My old employer didn't pay you since you got jury pay. My employer pays me for the day, but I'm required to sign the check from the courthouse over to them so I'm not getting paid "extra".
