  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 7, 2013 -> 10:09 AM) Honestly I had no idea why Bosh was even taking 3s last night. He hit 21 out of 74 threes this season, it isnt like he is a guy that has a ton of success from that range. Yea for some reason this season Bosh has got it in his head that he can shoot 3's, especially this postseason. He's hit them at times with a fair amount of success, but I'll give him that shot all night long.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ May 7, 2013 -> 09:58 AM) Hinrich on Chalmers, Butler on Wade, Deng on James, Noah on Bosh, That is a great d lineup against the heat. Hinrich is a luxury at that point on chalmers (likely will get butler some rest since you can do hinrich on wade and keep nrob in game vs. Chalmers). Really hope Bosh can stay cold from 3. Heat become much easier to defend when that s*** isn't working. With Deng not being at 100%, I might be inclined to keep Butler on James and Deng on Wade. If Marco and Deng are on the floor at the same time, then Marco takes Wade and Deng back to James.
  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 6, 2013 -> 07:08 AM) Depends on the state, but a lot of states' drunk driving laws are too lenient even for people who don't have money. A big part of it is all the red tape and hoops you have to go to to prove somebody was over the legal limit. A lot of drunk drivers get off using the "Ryan Braun" defense. And Tex, I'm also very sorry for your loss. I live in Wisconsin and received an OWI about 5 years ago. I was pulled over along the side of the road because I had dropped my phone between the seat and the door and wanted to retrieve it. Cop happened to drive by and stopped to see why I was pulled over there (it was out in the country). I passed the sobriety test, but blew over the limit so I got arrested. We have the most lenient laws of any state in Wisconsin. We are the only state where a first offense is not a crime. They do not even put you in a cell, you just have to have somebody sober sign for you. The ticket itself is around $800, you have to pay $200 for an alcohol assessment, $200 for a class if they deem you not an alcoholic (you have to go to counseling if they feel you have a drinking problem) and then my insurance went up about $40/month for a year. You also lose your license for 7 months, but are granted an occupational license to drive to work. Total it cost me about $1700 or so. They have changed slightly since I received mine. Now, if you blow over .15 you have to have a blow device in your car for a year. They are so lenient here to the point where it really doesn't stop people from driving drunk until they get their first offense. More than half of my friends have had at least one offense.
  4. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ May 3, 2013 -> 02:20 PM) Damn. Really? You'd have so many crabs there would be a line of hobos following you around with metal detectors like "there's gotta be some gold in this motherf***er." Cuz they'd think you're a beach. That was my attempt at a joke. Those usually don't work out for me so well. Jokes that is. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ May 3, 2013 -> 02:24 PM) All you'd have to tell them is that the other team hit it. It's not like they'd be watching anyway. That's because they're all farm-fed Iowans who stare at cows all day. When you stare at a cow every single day for a good 20+ years you just learn to tone out everything to the point where you can't even see what is in front of you. That's why they never start throwing garbage onto the field until the 7th inning or so, because that's when they find out they're losing (they've been down since the third). Don't quit your day job.
  5. Beckham takes over second base when he gets back. If Gillaspie keeps hitting the way he is and Keppinger doesn't turn it around, then Gillaspie stays at third with Keppinger going to the utility role. After Gordon's back awhile, I think Robin will play which ever of the two are performing the best.
  6. I guess from your list I would choose Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp. If the list was expanded I would choose Crowe, Norton or DiCaprio. Or from the younger generation, JGL or Ben Foster. Ben Foster has got some serious acting chops.
  7. QUOTE (Andrew @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 01:00 AM) Sounds like a Sox player to me... I will gladly take a .746 OPS out of our 4th outfielder even if it comes with a 28% K rate.
  8. QUOTE (Andrew @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 01:09 AM) LOL...You found just ONE error, eh???? Here's my issues with your article (in bold - your writing): "If you still have Dunn on your fantasy squad, this is not the time to dump him. A season like his last seems to be in sight now, with high home run and RBI totals alongside a very low batting average and adequate on base percentage. Dunn is the ultimate buy low (really, really low) candidate at this juncture. For fans, prepare the right field bleachers: Adam Dunn is coming back." I don't know if you've been watching Adam - since you wrote this. - He's worthless. Like - COMPLETELY - WORTHLESS. It's in the record books, how bad he is. Only an idiot would keep him. - LOL. He's the ultimate...Sox Free Agent Buy. Too late, you missed it, buy the Jersey and show up, see nothing but disgrace. - Yeah... Hillarious. But in all seriousness... No. No, he's not. My 2 cents - take it for what it's worth. That ridiculous post wasn't worth two cents. My question is have YOU been watching Adam lately. The last week has looked like the Adam Dunn we all expected when we signed him. Guys that put up 40 homers, 100 walks, 90+ RBIs are pretty valuable in fantasy. There is nothing wrong with what he wrote about him at all. I'm just curious too, what in the record books show how bad he is?
  9. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 05:30 PM) IMO, most contemporary "country" music is pop dressed in boots & cowboy hats. Pretty much exactly what I was trying to say, it just took me a few more words to get there.
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 05:28 PM) Expound. And what about the middle generation with Strait and Jackson? I was kidding more or less. Honestly I've not listened to a ton of Eric Church, but from what I have heard he is at least tolerable. It just seems like Nashville spits out these carbon copy "artists" left and right. I don't remember where I heard it or who said it, but somebody said "to be a country star these days, all you have to do is work out 7 days a week and look good in a ten gallon hat. Merle Haggard would have no chance these days." And honestly I think he's right. Eric Church does seem to fit that mold less than others in my limited experience with him. I do believe he does at least contribute to the writing of the majority of his songs which I do like. I would say the majority of artist out there today don't do that. Guys like Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard did play a lot of covers, but the majority of the songs that made them who they were, were written by themselves. As far as the middle generation goes, it was the beginning of the end in my opinion. While George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks and the like had some great songs, they really helped bring country music to the mainstream and as it went to the mainstream it became more and more what I call "Pop Country". I certainly don't mean any disrespect to any of these artist. I encourage everyone to listen to what they want to listen to, this is just my take on it.
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 05:25 PM) No love for Eric Church in the new generation? No.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) Maybe Charlie Daniels? Yea Charlie is still out there, but he's in his late '70s too. Once that generation is gone, which realistically will be another 10 years or so, bye bye country music. I did see Charlie Daniels a couple years back and that man still puts on one hell of a show.
  13. Any Sabbath fans around? New single is out.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 29, 2013 -> 04:56 PM) He should absolutely be fired. Why should he be fired for that? While I certainly do not agree with his beliefs at all, they are his beliefs. They are also the beliefs of millions of devout Christians throughout the world. He did not belittle Collins or say that he did not belong in the NBA, or really discriminate against him whatsoever. All he did was say that if you are living a homosexual lifestyle, that you are not a "true" Christian. Which according to many people's interpretation of the bible is correct.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 26, 2013 -> 05:15 PM) Who's gonna fill his shoes? Nobody. Country music is on life support and has been for quite some time. The only true country artist left are the ones that have been doing it for 50 years. Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and others are all pushing 80 and once they go country music will be officially dead.
  16. Carlesimo just said that the Nets had some tough calls go against them in his post game presser. What the hell game was he watching?
  17. This Carmen Faustino guy ain't that good. We can beat him.
