  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 12:57 PM) I think Hawk loves Dunn. I agree. I think Dunn is one of Hawk's favorites. He seems to root for Dunn, Paulie and Beckham more than anybody on the team.
  2. I got 9/10. Got #7 wrong because I missed the part where it said there were two outs in the inning.
  3. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 10:00 AM) I immediately though of Uribe's catch in the 05 WS. There was a runner on second and he wasn't allowed to advance. I believe that rule was not implented until just a couple of years ago.
  4. I live 3 hrs from Chicago in SW WI and my local Fox station out of Madison is showing the Yanks/Angels instead. So no game for me either.
  5. I just bought an '09 Cadillac CTS about 2 months ago and absolutely love it. 3.6L Direct Injection, AWD, heated and cooled leather seats, panoramic moon roof, navigation, 40GB in dash hard drive to store music. All the bells and whistles.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 03:08 PM) Well that and Jake Peavy fracturing a rib... Obviously referring to Omogrosso.
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 03:04 PM) Are we supposed to think these moves are going to be the help we need to get over the top? Probabaly more about using too many pitchers yesterday then anything That is all it is. No more, no less.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 02:15 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 3m Infielder Tyler Greene headed to AAA Charlotte after clearing waivers. Was DFA'd when Beckham returned Monday. #whitesox No surprise. I actually thought he did a decent job in the little chance he got.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) He actually could easily hit 30 home runs this season. Yet it probably wouldn't change my opinion of him. Pretty strange statement. In my opinion, an Adam Dunn type player needs to have an OPS close to .900. If they do that, I really don't care what the batting average is. Will Dunn ever do that again? Who knows. At this point I would just be happy to see him back around the .800 mark he was at last year.
  10. QUOTE (MEANS @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 11:56 AM) no but with comparisons to Sap and JOF I might have to check it out then! thanks It really has a little bit of everything. A couple acoustic tracks similar to JOF and Sap and the others range in styles similar to the 4 full length albums. Obviously it will never be the same without Layne Staley's voice, but definitely worth a listen. I think I like it slightly better than Black Gives Way to Blue.
  11. Buehrle is pitching Saturday and then won't pitch again until Thursday. The Sox will miss him. This is the way it is according to MLB.com which I trust greater than ESPN. Hawk and Stone mentioned during one of the past couple games that the Sox would miss him as well.
  12. I think somebody might be sleeping on the couch if he ain't careful.
  13. Anyone pick up the new Alice in Chains album? Pretty solid all around. Scalpel is my favorite track. It would have fit right at home on Sap or Jar of Flies.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 01:20 PM) I went on Friday, they were really good. And Taylor Swift did a song that they almost never play, so its likely hardcore Stones fans were somewhat placated by that. I don't really care that she was there and sang with them because that is something they have always done with "current" singers. The problem is that there is no way that she should have sang "As Tears Go By" as that is a favorite of many die-hard Stones fans, including me. It's one of the first songs that Richards and Jaggar ever wrote together and is held dearly by many fans.
  15. I absolutely love mid-week, late afternoon games. It's nice to be able to turn on the game as soon as I get home from work.
  16. He has definitely looked better the last few games. Perhaps his back issue was more serious than anybody let on. I suppose we can only hope that was the case and that he is healthy again.
  17. Man, Bickell is gonna get paid by someone this offseason after his playoff performance. I have a feeling it won't be the Hawks that pay him.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 07:22 PM) But the teams still have to pay it. IIRC it goes to some charity. Are you sure on this. I was thinking the teams did not have to pay and thought the charity thing was only for fines.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 07:12 PM) YANKEES have to be VERY CLOSELY looking at ways out of that contract...surely, it will be settled in a courtroom. At the very least, not paying him for those days under suspension. Players always lose their pay when they're suspended.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 07:05 PM) It's pretty funny that Braun got off on a technicality and went right back to the juice. He really must think he is bulletproof Have to wonder if this is the end of the road for ARod. A 100 game suspension would make him almost 39 when he came back, no? I don't imagine his suspension would run concurrent with his time on the DL I bet they would let A-Rods DL time count. They let Manny Ramirez's "retirement" time count even though it technically shouldn't have.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 02:22 PM) 1. I think Adam Dunn is a pretty good guy, and I want to root for him. He's just really been terrible, obviously. Given the two pieces of information, I actually think it is possible he may elect to retire after the season. Craziness, I know, but it might happen. 2. If the Sox do go into fire sale mode in June or July, I'd be all for getting a look at Seth Loman, Andy Wilkins and/or Dan Black at 1B/DH for a few months. Or even Mike McDade. Whomever is hitting in AAA at that point. Why not? Might as well get a look at what you MIGHT have for the future, on the cheap. If they all flop, which is very possible, then you look in another direction for 2014. But it is entirely possible that there will be 1 or even 2 open positions at 1B/DH in 2014, so, best to look at your in-house options if you can. 3. Right now, the season is not yet abandoned, so you really have to stick with Dunn and Konerko, because they are your best chances for production. I really doubt he would retire and leave $15 million sitting on the table.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 02:25 PM) And by that, you mean televising games on channels people don't watch or get? This. I had to upgrade my package on Dish for an additional $10/month for the playoffs just to get NBC Sportsnet.
  23. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 10:05 PM) I agree, could've easily been 4-0 with the same type of effort. Kane is so close to breaking out and Saad is due. Great game all around, the Hawks controlled the tempo for most of the game. Good to see Boston win, I hate Pittsburgh. They took away home ice and can win the series in 6 if they take care of their games at home. Yea. If it wasn't for Quick bailing their asses out all the time, this would have been a blowout. That guy is a stud.
  24. While this was a one goal game on the scoreboard, the Hawks thoroughly dominated in all facets. If this game is any indication of how the rest of the games are going to go, I think we're in pretty good shape.
  25. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 31, 2013 -> 01:09 PM) Cubs have a +6 run differential, and the Sox are -29. I think the talent is close and probably can be argued either way. Those run differentials came in large part from the whooping they just put on us.
