http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/...-jury/13316529/ For the record, I didn't vote for him.

Well, the Tigers got shut out 1 of every 12.5 games that season and Alvarez was definitely an above average pitcher at the time so those probably weren't terrible odds.

Never been to Comerica, but I'd like to share my memories of my late father's one and only trip to Tiger Stadium on July 21, 1997: We were sitting in the lower deck in LF, and this was the conversation just before first pitch: DAD: I wonder if Frank Thomas will hit one to us in the first inning ME: No, the upper deck hangs out too far over the lower deck. It will land above us Five minutes later, literally directly above our heads **CLANK** DAD: Oh, I see what you mean Other memories from this game: Only time I've ever witnessed 4 K's in an inning (thank you Wild Wilson). Also, the only other people in our section were two guys who must have had made at least $1K in bets on games every day. One of them had $100 on Alvarez tossing a CG SO at 25:1, and blew a gasket when he got yanked after giving up a 1-out single in the 8th with a 3-0 lead.

Property taxes may be similar, but income and sales taxes are a lot lower in NWI, plus like you said you can get more house for your money. Yeah, Addison may be a bit far to commute from there. It's been a while since I've driven the tri-state in the morning so I don't know how long that would take.

Munster. First of all, Indiana's government and taxes are far, far less f***ed up than Illinois. So having narrowed the choices down to NW Indiana, Munster has by far the best public school system.

Very nice. Going to the Nov 22 game vs Louisville. -
I have been a Firefox guy for several years now. It's not perfect but it has served me well. The head of IT where I work uses SeaMonkey, which is also a Mozilla product, and swears that it is even better than Firefox. I haven't gotten around to trying it out myself yet.

Well, not exactly in Chicago but meets the public transit requirement: Oak Park. I lived there for 5 years and absolutely loved it. Lost of time spent on the Green Line between the Harlem and 35th stops.

If your SB% is 63%, then you are running too much, regardless of how much that is. Ramirez is 85%, and Garcia is 91%. They are doing it right. De Aza is another one who needs to run less.
-
Only issue I have with Eaton is SB%. If he can't do better than 63%, then he needs to run less. Don't take yourself off the bases with Abreu coming up.

At this point in his career, Danks is a #4 starter. If he is an upgrade to your pitching staff, then you probably have no business being buyers at the deadline. That said, if somebody is delusional enough to think that Danks will help them, the Sox should try to extract a nice price, because he can still be useful to the Sox as a #4 starter going forward.
-
I'm not worried about who takes Danks' spot this year. I'm worried about who takes his spot in 2015-16*. If the trade doesn't net somebody who will do that, then it doesn't make sense to trade him. * Don't say Rodon. Rodon fills one of the other two holes in the rotation.

There are two things that really need to be looked at when considering what it would take to part with a player in a trade: the ability to replace him and the contract. Dunn is a free agent at the end of the season, so there is no reason not to take the best deal offered for him no matter how bad the offer might be. Beckham and De Aza are free agents after next season, and both have replacements within the system, so they should be heavily shopped. They don't quite fit in the Dunn category of "take whatever you can get" because they could be traded after the season, but the standard should still be pretty low. Ramirez and Danks are good players who are under contract for two more years. The Sox don't NEED to replace them. They are both very capable of being productive members of a championship team in 2015 or 16. The bar should be very high as to what the Sox should demand to give these guys up.

Too pretty/too much of a distraction for vb team

Yeah, I feel bad for hetero males in Kazakhstan if she is hot enough to make them go that crazy. -
I'm not against trading Danks, but for me the price needs to be hefty. They have shed enough salary that they don't have an urgent need to dump his, and he can be a #4 starter on a contending team in 15-16. Need at least a Top 50-75 prospect for him.

Constant thunder for about 20 minutes now, and I'm about 6 miles NNE of the stadium.

Charlotte's night ending in 3, 2, 1 . . .

I don't mind Sale going 8, but there's no reason to send him back out there for the 9th.

He gets a full year's service time for this year.

Who was the 12th guy? Sign him up.

Sox willing to deal Beckham in "right deal now"

Yes, everything that is reported is true. I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I'm looking to unload cheap. -

Nope, the Sox never, never ever trade within the division. Avisail Garcia is a figment of your imagination. -
There isn't going to be a Game 2.
