I want to thank everybody for their input. We will definitely do S&I. We may still do Planetarium but probably not Field Museum. I do still want to do Brookfield Zoo. The kids have been to plenty of zoos as big or bigger than Lincoln Park so that would really be a waste of our time. We're going to be visiting during the week in October so crowds shouldn't be too big of an issue. The question I really want answered is with the kids whether it's easier to stay downtown or somewhere else (Midway, Rosemont, Oak Brook)?

This is kind of why I hate group stages in tournaments--you win your first two games and you have your spot locked up in the next round. You're playing to win the tournament so you do the right thing and rest Dempsey the first half and try a couple guys in new spots. Then you end up with a draw instead of a win which costs you world ranking points. We're going to have a car, so driving out to Brookfield isn't any big deal. The planetarium would not be boring for the 7 year old, he's really, really into planets/space right now. In fact, if we decide not to go there, we're not even going to tell him the planetarium exists just to avoid the epic meltdown he would have.

OK, I know most of you live in/near Chicago, but have any of you taken a trip TO Chicago with small kids (7, 5)? We are going for 3 nights in October and am looking for hotel suggestions? In the past when it's just been my wife and I we've just stayed downtown and taken the L and walked everywhere we went, but with the kids I'm wondering if that might be too much for them? We are going to do Brookfield Zoo, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and if we have time the Planetarium or Science and Industry.

Tickets on stubhub seem to be insane in general. Looking for 4 tix to Sunday 7/19 and everybody is asking at or above face value even though there are face value tickets available for direct purchase. Hoping prices come down eventually.
