  1. I want to go to the first series the Sox play at the Havana Rays.
  2. Jeff Torborg was AL Manager of the Year when I was 16.
  3. Leury Garcia was on the roster last year because the Sox chose to keep a backup 1B/DH on the roster, forcing them to have a bench player who could play 4+ positions to compensate. Look, as much as it might hurt to think of it this way, when the Sox decided to keep Konerko around for 2014, it was a pretty clear sign that they didn't believe they had much chance to contend.
  4. Yeah, if you never, ever miss on a trade then you are a chicken who doesn't make enough trades and is losing out on those huge wins as well.
  5. If you do that then you have to keep a 5th OF on the roster because there isn't anybody else who can play CF. I mean I guess you can stick Melky there but that's not an ideal plan.
  6. Yes, "unmarried partner" is now a relationship choice.
  7. No, if for no other reason that if the Sox signed him, I wouldn't be able to continue calling him Assdribble.
  8. Remove the 'n' from the first name and I'm interested.
  9. Big bust potential is a bad thing in basketball players but a good thing in cheerleaders.
  10. I marked "Married, with kids" but apparently that is subject to change (not the kids part).
  11. Yeah, I would really love to see Viciedo moved and replaced with a RH guy who can play 3B and possible 1B and/or LF. I can also see Webb in that last bullpen spot over Surkamp.
  12. 1 Win the AL Central 2 Win the AL Pennant 3 Win the World Series
  13. Hey, the Bears have gone five consecutive Sundays without losing!!!
  14. If the Sox view Nieto as a potential starting catcher down the road, then he needs to be starting 100+ games in the minors instead of being a backup for Flowers.
  15. I live too far away to get to more than 1-2 games per year, but if your boss hires me so I can move closer, I'll commit to at least 5 games as well
  16. Or the Olympics Or college sports Or high schools sports Just put the Little League World Series on a continuous loop year round.
  17. Doing some shopping today and walking in the parking lot behind a young couple that had just gotten out of a Prius plastered with every pro-environment and anti-Republican bumper sticker you could imagine. Both promptly stomped their cigarettes out on the ground before entering the store.
  18. He has all three option years remaining. He was never on anybody's 40 man roster until the Sox picked him in last winter's Rule V draft and he stayed on the Sox all season.
  19. What team would do that though? I can't see any team giving up a draft pick for him.
  20. Eaton, Melky and Garcia are all guys who are going to start just about every day. The most important thing I want in my backup OF is being able to play all three positions well defensively. Danks fits that criteria. What hand he hits with, or how well he even hits at all, are secondary considerations.
  21. Hoping Viciedo is on his way out the door soon.
  22. He's projected to get $4M, but apparently the Sox can cut him and pay only part of that. There is zero chance he stays on the Sox now that Melky is signed.

  24. I would say the roster as of now is: OF: Eaton, AGarcia, Cabrera, Danks, Viciedo IF: Sanchez, Ramirez, Gillaspie, Saladino 1B/DH: Abreu, LaRoche C: Flowers, Brantly SP: Sale, Samardizja, Quintana, Noesi, Danks RP: Robertson, Petricka, Duke, Putnam, Guerra, Webb, Jennings Moving Viciedo and replacing him with a good utility guy and possibly moving Danks are really the only moves left.
