Bourjos and Trumbo available for pitching
I would love to get borjous. his speed would be great as a leadoff hitter. also as a defensive stalwart at CF. this guy brings A+ speed. plus I don't think it would cost a whole lot to get him either. some like rienzo might get it done. throw in a lower level guy too.

Sox Sign Jose Abreu - 6/$68 million
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/10/jose...n-contract.html Jose Dariel Abreu About To Agree To $68MM Deal By Charlie Wilmoth [October 17, 2013 at 7:29pm CST] Cuban first baseman Jose Dariel Abreu is "finalizing" a six-year, $68MM contract, likely with the White Sox, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal tweets. Abreu is represented by Praver Shapiro Sports Management. The deal would be the largest contract ever for an international free agent. It would easily surpass the six-year, $42MM deal Yasiel Puig received from the Dodgers last June. This afternoon, it emerged that Abreu was deciding between the White Sox, Red Sox and Astros. The Rangers, Marlins and Giants had also shown interest. Abreu, 26, defected from Cuba two months ago. He put up massive numbers in Cuba's Serie Nacional, winning over-the-top praise for his power and earning comparisons to Ryan Howard. Some experts have raised doubts about his bat speed, however, and his defense and athleticism are not highly regarded. Tim Dierkes' profile of Abreu predicted he would receive a six-year, $54MM contract.

How Should Rick Hahn Fix The White Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 10, 2013 -> 03:06 PM) There's no reason to waste this starting pitching any longer. Hahn has to take a chance with some money. I've become convinced we're not going to win with BOTH Viciedo and DeAza in the everyday lineup. So Hahn has to spend some money and get Grandy and dump DeAza in a minor trade. Or keep DeAza as fourth outfielder and dump Jordan Danks in a minor trade. We also NEED to sign a catcher if we are serious about winning anything. Spend the money. And we need to replace Beckham and Kepp/Gillaspie (3B). Semien takes over for Beckham and WE GOT to find somebody for 3B. The current everyday lineup means another 95-100 loss season no matter who we have pitching. These guys are THAT BAD. That's it for changes for now. That would be a reasonable attempt at trying to match our pitching with a lineup possibly capable of contending. Considering all it will take is some money, give it a shot, Mr. hahn. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing leury garcia at 2nd and semien at 3rd. both play good defense. and semien I believe will be a good hitter too. he has shown power in the minor leagues and might be able to continue it to the next level. get abreu in here to play 1st.

How Should Rick Hahn Fix The White Sox
I think we have a good starting rotation and some extra here. the bullpen needs to be retooled. and the position players and batters need to be rebuilt. so my answer is both.

Alexei Ramirez
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 04:29 PM) I think Alexei might be trade bait this winter but I really like the guy. I hope he and Beckham anchor the middle for a few more years. I think 3B and maybe 1B will be our issue next year. Possibly even RF isn't garcia locked into RF? why is this a question?

Konerko on waivers today
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 07:13 AM) Either you seriously don't understand player value and the economics of baseball, or you are baiting the hook. Or perhaps both. Well baseball is quite the confusing sport! remember?

Adam Dunn cleared waivers
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 05:18 PM) Kyle would sniff out your Ponzi scheme immediately...that's like his job and stuff. plus ponzi schemes are incredible complicated, much like the game of baseball.

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 02:20 PM) Who do we need that OF slot for now? If Rios wasn't moved I'd have thought that was an option yes, but who is going to take the starting OF slot from Viciedo now unless we sign someone? Jordan Danks? Blake Tekotte? Trayce might force one of the OF's out of the way at some point but he's not nearly there yet. maybe brandon jacobs? he has been hitting very well since coming over from boston. and he is very athletic and a good defender too.

Peavy to Boston, Avisail Garcia + 3 low lv specs to Sox
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/07/jake...s-imminent.html Jake Peavy Rumors: Sunday By Edward Creech [July 28, 2013 at 1:52pm CST] Jake Peavy has cleared his belongings from the White Sox's clubhouse and is prepared to be traded soon, reports ESPNChicago.com's Bruce Levine. "It is sad to think that this is probably my last day in here," Peavy said this morning. "We all realize the reality of the situation and I am prepared with that to happen soon. If I am not traded I would be happy to know the message here is we think we can win it all next year with you a part of it. I am reflecting on my four years here as we speak and getting a little caught up in the emotion. It is a sad day when you think it could be your last. This is a business and this is what we do. I will always cherish the people here and my time in Chicago." Here are the other rumors involving Peavy today:

Peavy to Boston, Avisail Garcia + 3 low lv specs to Sox
if we trade with the braves I hope to see edward salcedo as part of the deal. he was a highly rankes SS that has now grown into a 3rd baseman. has tons of upside too. big bat and powerful arm. has good range for 3rd baseman.

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 09:37 PM) Hayes just tweeted that Rios never invoked any deal to the Yankees. He was never asked. Was angry too. the yankees don't have anything worth while anyway.

Peavy to Boston, Avisail Garcia + 3 low lv specs to Sox
QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 08:35 PM) Sure would loves me some Matt Adams. Blazek looks like he could be a good get as well, though with Jones and Reed I wish he was left handed. Swap out Butler for something a little sexier and I'd take it. I agree we need something better than butler as part of that deal. we are giving a up a quality short stop and starter.

atlanta braves
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 03:28 PM) Ha! Honestly, I have no problem with it if it's for lesser players (Heyward won't be one of them during the season, BTW, because he is too valuable to that team at the moment), but I don't want to see a Jesus Montero, whose stock is down, be the centerpiece of a deal for Rios or Peavy. He can, however, be a #2 piece in such a deal. oh I don't know, now it is just getting to complicated.

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/07/brav...ation-help.html Braves Seeking Front-Line Starting Pitcher By Steve Adams [July 26, 2013 at 12:15pm CST] FRIDAY: The Braves are more focused on front-line starting pitchers such as Jake Peavy and Ervin Santana than they are on Norris, writes Mark Bowman of MLB.com. Peavy's 118-pitch outing yesterday, which was scouted by the Braves, helped to quell some of the hesitation surrounding his health, Bowman adds. The Braves aren't interested in Yovani Gallardo, according to Bowman, but they may contact the Brewers regarding Kyle Lohse's availability.

Hawk Harrelson Documentary
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 04:56 PM) I'd be SHOCKED if we don't put a former Sox in the booth because that's how we do things around here. all I know is that it better be someone smart. so that he can keep us informed of the complexities of the baseball game. otherwise none of us will know what is going on out there on the field. I've heard it is a confusing game.

Hawk Harrelson Documentary
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 11:02 PM) Settle down. Baseball is a relatively simple game, but there are intricacies in the game that are complicated and rival no other. That's why it's such a great game. The old cliche is that you see something new every game. A lot of that is true. i'm actually trying to apply to an ivy league school, so that i can become a fan (educated one, that can handle the complexities of this super confusing game) again of baseball!

Hawk Harrelson Documentary
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 08:12 AM) http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/quiz/_/id/...w-mlb-rules#top Let me know how you do boy you are complicating things way too much. you are also trying way to hard to be right about something so stupid! so good for you. you win. you are the winner. baseball is a complicated game that should only be enjoyed by intellectuals!

Hawk Harrelson Documentary
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 03:23 PM) Jesus, baseball is anything but a simple game. There are times I get confused as to what's going on. Having someone who knows what's going on and can explain it to me is greatly appreciated. it really isn't that complicated. baseball 101 might be a good read for you then.

Hawk Harrelson Documentary
I don't get the hawk hate. I actually really enjoy him. I think he does a very good job with our games. I guess it helps that i am not from chicago or live around there? either way the documentary was very entertaining and i like listening to hawk and his stories. i also think he is very entertaining as an announcer. some of you just seem to damn crabby about every and anything possible.

7/6 White Sox vs. Rays (Sale vs. Moore)
boy I hope it is a miss print but on the espn box score it shows that flowers took a whole total of 4 pitches this game! in 3 at bats. nothing but first pitch swinging. he really has no clue. or is too damn scared of a breaking pitch so he takes the first pitch fast ball.
-
7/6 White Sox vs. Rays (Sale vs. Moore)
poor sale can't catch a break with our terrible offense and bad defense

Phegley Up/Gimenez Gone
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 07:12 AM) Phegley has 8 passed balls in 60 games in Charlotte. Flowers has 7 passed balls in 65 games in Chicago. I'd also like to think the breaking stuff might be a bit easier to catch in the minors. You should not expect this at all. I don't believe this at all. guys in the majors also have more control of their pitches too. you see more wild pitches in the minors than you do the majors.
