  1. The is no reason Palka shouldn't be our DH next year
  2. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Dec 13, 2017 -> 09:43 PM) Do. Not. Like. Why? He's not going to sign an extension, so why? This is such a dumb White Sox move. I think our is only dumb by who they have offered. I would be ok if say out was Rutherford and Fulmer as the 2 headliners
  3. What are you pumping the brakes on? Nobody is proclaiming him the next Greg Maddux. Just that he probably should start next season in the starting rotation at the big league. Why not? isn't that what next year is going to be about? QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 1, 2017 -> 03:34 AM) Let's all cement this into our heads for the next 8 months as a site-wide mantra.... 5 games started... 35 total innings pitched... 24 years old... 5 games started... 35 total innings pitched... 24 years old... 5 games started... 35 total innings pitched... 24 years old... 5 games started... 35 total innings pitched... 24 years old... 5 games started... 35 total innings pitched... 24 years old... 5 games started... 35 total innings pitched... 24 years old... 5 games started... 35 total innings pitched... 24 years old... 5 games started... 35 total innings pitched... 24 years old... 5 games started... 35 total innings pitched... 24 years old... edit: I don't think anyone is sold on Carson... and myself, I was conceding him to the bullpen already just a few weeks ago in August. So... the mantra applies to this dude as well.
  4. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 05:59 PM) We need a young, premier third base prospect ...or two. That has been one of the toughest positions for the Sox to fill post-Crede. Burger?
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 07:37 PM) Wait until Melky and MiGo get traded. Perfect!
  6. QUOTE (b-Rye @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 07:36 PM) Worst Sox team possibly worst mlb team I've ever witnessed. Deep breathe and repeat after me... REBUILD.
  7. Some of you are insufferable in game threads. Every little thing is the end of the world. I hope the sun rises tomorrow morning for some of you.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 09:31 PM) shouldn't this be considered trolling? I could go into an angry diatribe at this but I'd be the one banned. You are really struggling with this whole idea of rebuilding. Boy you must be a peach to be around, so oblivious.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 02:38 PM) I hope you are joking. He'd bring nothing. I can buy that, however. Kudos to him. Why so serious? Can you not read sarcasm?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 02:41 PM) Well here comes another three years of bunts Would you like some tissues for your issues?
  11. Not a bad last month. 2 very good corner infielders who bring a big bat and low strike outs. And a future center fielder who hit a HR in his forest game, in Robert.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 04:36 PM) I'm all for losing when it's guys like Pelfrey and Covey. Seeing Q and Robertson get shelled is not beneficial for the rebuild I don't think you know what you want. You've been the biggest complainer of any and everything this year.
  13. QUOTE (Soha @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 04:25 PM) And the Sox are now tied with the A's for the worst record in the AL. Isn't this what we want? Seems some are getting so upset we loser, like this was suppose to be a good year.
  14. Or see how Willie Garcia develops in center?
  15. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 06:37 PM) Yep, they are not the future and should be getting reps in the minors where they belong. At least May plays really good defense.
  16. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 14, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) yea not going to bother answering this. Figure out the demographics of SP in MLB yourself. Then look up the meaning of generic. StI'll don't understand why race is pertanant?
  17. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 14, 2017 -> 11:42 AM) I saw Covey in spring. He is literally the generic right handed AAAA SP. He's Caucasian, about 6'2, maybe 200 lbs wet. He throws his heater about 89-92. He has a mediocre curve and a mediocre at best changeup. His control is mediocre to poor and his command is mediocre. He has no out pitch at the MLB level and will rely quite a bit on defense and ground balls if he's to have any success tonight. Good luck dude. It might be a very long night. Hopefully in a month he's replaced either by Rodon or Lopez. I believe the super 2 deadline is May 13th this year. What does white have anything to do with it?
  18. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 13, 2017 -> 10:06 AM) it may not be Jacob May that's replaced, but man he is 100% overmatched at the MLB plate or what But he does play a major league center field. let the kid go and just play. Maybe he gets more comfortable at the plate as the season goes along or until Tilson gets back. Let the kid take his cuts, while playing a good centerfield.
  19. I like Maitan better because of his chance to play 3rd base.
  20. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Mar 3, 2017 -> 10:40 PM) First of all, I've never said Rodon is "bad," but rather "mediocre." Given his talent, Id consider that a bit of a disappointment. Given his slider that he has, one would anticipate him being better than he has been so far. I suppose Id consider a "core player" to be essential to a team's fortunes. I don't see that at all in this player. So, convince me. (And again, I never called him "bad.") Come on you guys. ...convince him. It is vitally important that he is convinced. Rodon will forever be average if he isn't convinced.
  21. I was hoping there would be more to the Philly rumors. They have some nice outfield prospects at the top of their minor system.
  22. QUOTE (South Sider @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 09:38 AM) I wanted to start a discussion on Giolito to gather some opinions from our more savvy posters regarding his future in the MLB. Basically, when the trade happened people were saying Shelby Miller 2.0 and that the Sox fleeced the Nationals. I think a lot of people here had a more clear view of the trade, yes the Sox got a nice return but the Nationals got a good player and I highly doubt he will be as bad as Shelby Miller has been for Arizona. However, I was reading some tweets and articles talking about Giolito and that a lot of executives at the winter meetings had him lower on their prospect list then the national outlets. How low? One may never know, but it is interesting topic for discussion because some felt the Sox fleeced the Nationals, while others are down on Giolito. If Giolito isn't as good as we hope, then it severely hurts the value of this deal. Lopez projects as a bullpen piece, which is fine, and Dunning could be a starter but he's kind of far away yet. Giolito is the headliner and there's talk that the Nationals screwed up delivery, so he seems like an ideal candidate for the Sox to fix. I guess I just want to see what some of you guys out there feel like his ceiling really is. I think you are selling Lopez way short.
  23. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 10, 2016 -> 02:40 PM) I hope you're right and RH doesn't say at the beginning of the season that "we just didn't get the price we wanted for anyone else." I worry that it was just about getting rid of the Laroche fan club that really stood up to management. Notice they were the first 2 to go.
