It was Shrine Tuesday yesterday or Pancake Tuesday (or whatever it's called). But if you're hungry, go get yourself a free Quiznos sandwich. http://www.millionsubs.com/Landing_Registe...c08c872a1a6d00f

If VDN sticks to that 9 man rotation the Bulls used last night, they should make the playoffs. If the Pistons keep Michael Curry, they're not going to make it (called it a week ago, and they're on a 7 game losing streak currently).

Bulls have been lookin pretty good against the Magic so far. Don't think SVG would be happy with our defense at all ATM.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) Champions League is finally back today. Yep, Man Utd have been all over Inter in the 1st half but didn't score. Something tells me Inter are going to score in the 2nd half though.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 11:13 AM) The girl who sits right next to me at work chews louder than any other girl I've ever met. It cuts through me like a hot knife through butter, but I don't know her well enough to tell her to shut her f***ing mouth. It drives me nuts. You need Terry Tate the Office Linebacker in your workplace I think.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 10:51 AM) yeah it was. It is probably going to be a shot that will be remembered for generations. It would be for sure if it came from Kobe or Lebron. Yeah it was quite unbelievable. Harris should win the most improved player award this season also. He's carrying what is a pretty bad team to a decent enough record while they wait for the 2010 off-season.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 11:36 PM) haha larry hughes first few minutes with the knicks were beyond horrible...and he got booed....lol the devin harris shot to beat the 76ers was ridiculous Yep they love him already. And D'Antoni will too if he keeps shooting at that wondeful percentage. Lee and Robinson are carrying that team right now.

Music Thread
Went and saw Jimmy Eat World live at Terminal 5 in New York last night. It was officially 10 years to the day Clarity came out. They played al the songs from that, and then added a few older songs (e.g The Middle, Sweetness) and a couple of their newer ones (Work and Pain (not 23 unfortunately)) at the end. Was a good show, although I think the crowd was definitely more into their faster, heavier stuff throughout the night.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:55 PM) If there was anyone offering as anything for Anderson, he would have been gone years ago. I don't think anyone out there thinks he can hit well enough at the major league level to be a starting OF. For a team like the Padres though, who could use a really good defensive CF to cover the ground in PETCO (and it's not like they're great on offense anyways), he'd make a lot of sense.

Are the Bears looking for more a speedy WR in the DeSean Jackson mould or a big possesion receiver (like they thought Moose was going to be)?

I also think the Dark Knight should have done better than what it did, but movies like that (action / comic book movies) never do well for the Academy.

2009 Oscars Thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) I think it's official. We have our default bulls*** excuse that everyone will throw out. Tell me which of the movies that were nominated you saw. Did you see The Dark Knight or The Wrestler (both of which I'd say were better)? Seen the Dark Knight obviously (you're an idiot if you haven't), and I've seen the Wrestler also. I actually didn't think the Wrestler was as good as it's been touted to be, but that's JMO. Slumdog Millionaire is comparable to No Country for Old Men from the last Oscars really.

Sign-and-trade Orlando Cabrera?
The A's aren't willing to include incentives in a contract apparently, and just want to pay the whole amount up front. Still think something will get done there though.

Dave Wilder saga takes another interesting turn
This has been mooted for a long time, not really surprising. Bowden's probably been doing it since he's been at the Reds, and it's finally caught up to him.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 22, 2009 -> 11:51 PM) So Slumdog Millionaire isn't the tied for 8th best movie ever made? Says more about the quality of films that came out in 2008. Nothing really stood out, and because Slumdog Millionaire was the low budget film in India that no-one expected to do as good as it's done, that's why it's done so well in all of the awards.

2009 Oscars Thread
Milkman it's not like it was a great year for Movies anyways. And if you came into this tonight not thinking that Slumdog was going to not win a lot of awards, well that's just pretty stupid considering all of the awards it's won at previous things (e.g the Golden Globes).
