  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 02:48 AM) Eddie the Eagle? I thought it was Everyday Eddie. Oops, I knew it was one or the other.
  2. Thanks for the wishes guys. It's been nice to see fans of other teams come on here and congratulate us on the win. You Marlins fans especially have always represented your team with a lot of class, and I echo the sentiments in hoping you guys can do better in 2006.
  3. So the M's closer in 2006 will be.......
  4. Iggy >>> Gordon. So if Duhon misses any time, does Gordon move to SG and Hinrich to PG?
  5. I haven't heard of 2 and 5, but I've heard of the rest. Go me.
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) ??? A post about a 3 hitter and no mention of Chad Tracey? I'm sick, it's gone to my head.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) We will get a 3-4 hitter... i have no f***ing doubt about it. Depends if Konerko re-signs and they want to keep Dye in the #3 hole. On the basis on what Dye did in the post-season, it'd be hard to move him from there. Most likely the #5 hole will be the incoming FA as the DH, although if Frank returns and they want him to hit in the 3 hole, then Dye would prob move back down to 5.
  8. Well deserved for a man who has been the face of this team for such a long time. Let's hope he gets back next season and is injury free.
  9. Yep just imagine if that deal goes thru, we may not have one of Dye or Pierzynski today.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) He just said he's staying. His "reason" is that he can't wait to manage in Pittsburgh for the All-Star game, the home of Roberto Clemente, his idol. That's good to hear. And it can only help the Sox when it comes to things like FA's, because you know players will want to play for Ozzie.
  11. You could just see from the interview how much this meant to him. It's just a wonderful feeling that we're all sharing right now.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) He expects him to win it every single year. Because you know if we made all of those moves he wanted, we wouldn't have lost that 1 game in the playoffs at all.
  13. Get him re-signed to a nice long - term deal please. Honestly 1 month ago, people were speculating KW may be fired. Ok then.
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) BTW, update your signature. Probably a good time to do so isn't it. Heads takes the credit for his game threads. I'll take it for my choke siggy.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Maybe now people will stop calling him dead? You'd hope so. Just shows you don't judge a guy by 1 or 2 months of production. He had a great series, and was our only dangerous hitter against Backe tonight. We were lucky he was when Harris was on 3rd.
  16. Buck was waiting to crucify him if he got the call wrong.
  17. Bout time you showed up again Steve. And for the record, I don't know. But for anyone to wants to replace him, because of his little bullpen quirks in insane in my mind.
  18. I was actually pretty composed. I just sat there, smiled and took it all in.
  19. To all of you who said this team wasn't good enough offensively to win a world series, Eat Crow. To all of you who said this team had no chance in the playoffs and would go 3 and out, Eat Crow. This is just UNf***INbelieveable. We may never get to see this again (hopefully not). Words just can't comprehend the wonderful emotions I'm feeling right now, and I'm sure it's the same for all Sox fans.
  20. It wouldn't have been the same without ya guys.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 08:30 AM) I have a 40...fits me pretty good, but probably could have went with a 44. I've noticed some fit different. I'm 6ft (well half an inch under, but 6 sounds better). Yeah mine's a 40 too, and I just fit it, although Jason's seen how short I am.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) I nominate DePloderer as our foreign good luck poster. We tried an Aussie for years, but that didn't work out too well. Oh gees thanks YAS. I'll go support the Astros then.......
  23. Wow maybe the Hornets should have taken those Raptors 2 1st rounders when they had the chance. Desmond Mason's a damn nice player, but Magliore's worth a lot more that what Milwaulkee gave up for him. They could be a top 4 team in my mind now in the East, depending if T.J Ford can stay healthy.
  24. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) I want to give LARGE kudos to AJ for working Oswalt last night. He must've been responsible for 20 pitches' worth of Roy "Munson" Oswalt's pitch count. Drew two walks, went deep in the count all the time. One more reason why I REALLY appreciate that guy, and I want the Sox to try damn hard to lock him up long-term. Anthony John And the weird thing is, he's not really a patient hitter at all. He only had 23 walks during the whole regular season. I think that's been a real big reason why we've scored a lot of runs, especially during this series. Our hitters are being a lot more patient at the plate, they're not swinging at the 1st pitch (well except for Konerko ) and it's paying dividends.
  25. Lost in all of the plaudits that have been going Joe Crede and Paul Konerko's way, has been Juan Uribe's impact in the #9 hole. He had a strong finish to the season, and he's carried on with that momentum throughout the playoffs. Even though last night wasn't the best for him at all with those 2 errors in the field, he's got splits of .316/.395/.526 and that was after a 1 for 6 performance last night. And with a 6/5 K/BB ratio, that patience at the plate is really paying off.
