Glad you had a good one dude. I would have gotten smashed myself, but each to their own.

Sox could offer 4M for 2010, with some deferred money down the line, and perhaps a mutual option at about 8M for 2011. FWIW, I think Damon would take less from the Sox than he would from Detroit, but with Bora$$ being his agent and all, I don't see that happening.

I think we at least have two fairly capable defenders in Barnes and Pietrus to put on him. Basically with the Cavs, you've got to make them a jump shooting team. You give the likes of Varejao and Hickson as many good looks as we did, they'll kill you offensively. But I think we showed that if our shooters get hot, we can give them all kinds of trouble. But then again, I think a lot is gonna ride on how VC performs, because if he struggles offensively, then the rest of the team really does as well.

Jameer Nelson cost us this game tonight, 2 blown lay-ups and numerous TO's. He hasn't been 100% since he had the knee surgery and needs to have some time off. Nice effort to fight back in the 2nd and the 3rd Q's though I guess.

The Bulls could get Anthony Johnson from the Magic for a future 2nd round pick if they needed another PG. The only deal I could see Hinrich moving in is one for Ray Allen. I think the Bulls are pretty much stuck with Salmons also, but I know they've offered him in exchange for J.J Redick also (since Redick's deal expires at the end of the season, while Salmons is a lock to exercise his player option in the off-season).

Yeah I heard that Denver offered Balkman plus 2 other players for Thomas also. I don't think there's any doubt that he gets dealt this w/e.

The ASB is really coming at a good time for the Celtics, lost again to the Hornets tonight. If they don't pick things up, I could actually see them dropping out of the top 4 in the East, and the Raptors passing them. Orlando vs. Cleveland should be a fun game to watch tomorrow.

Dwight Howard vs. Brad Miller is quite the mis-match. Bulls are really missing Noah ATM.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 02:39 AM) Turco is playing like s*** this year. Lehtonen would have been nice. Sounded as if Dallas gave up their top prospect and a pick for him. Don't know if Bowman would have been willing to pay that price. Turco's a UFA at the end of the season also right?

I'll see you Lindsay Vonn and go with Australia's main female medal hope snowboarder Torah Bright. -
Hmmm, looks as if we wanted to make a statement. Still we dropped a 21 point lead to Washington at home the other night, so it's not other just yet. Losing Rose hurts big time though for the Bulls.

Vintage Vince Carter tonight, 48 points, the guy was hitting shots left, right and center in the 2nd half. Terrible performance defensively, but I'll take the win coming off a back to back. We've got Chicago and Cleveland next, the Cavs on a back to back. I'd probably take a split of those 2 right now and go into the ASB at 36-18.

If the Knicks offered a future 1st and the expiring contract of Duhon for TT, would you take that?

QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 02:36 AM) Playing Command and Conquer Yuri's Revenge again lately. Ha. I got the First Decade CD in the States on Ebay last year, so I've finally played all of the C&C games now, before C&C4 comes out in March. That Soviet Chick in the cut scenes is decent though.

Clips reaching out to Isaiah Thomas to be their next coach / GM. Sometimes you just have to laugh.
-
I'd honestly just hang onto Beasley instead of bringing in Butler and Jamison. If you could get Jamison by dealing those other guys though (although I've always liked Haslem as a glue guy), that's something I think the Heat should definitely look at.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 01:14 AM) But...that assumes that the 'Stons would be able to make a move for a piece like that. Billups for Iverson made sense to me and still does. They cleared immediate cap space on a team that was at the time the #3-#4 team in the East and which was on a downhill path. Clearing cap space before they get stuck with an 8 seed that is very old and is paying the tax is a solid basketball move and its one that a lot of GM's wouldn't have the balls to make. Blowing their cap space on Gordon and Villaneueva, with seemingly no thought to how that team was going to fit together, now that was the stupid part, and that's why they're in such a rough spot right now. They'd be better off if they'd have just held their cap space until mid-season here. The Gordon signing was the really baffling one considering they already have Stuckey, Rip Hamilton and Will Bynum at the guard spots. I think they'll try very hard to dump either Hamilton or Prince at the deadline / off-seaso without much success also.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 04:37 PM) That logic will forever baffle me. Seriously. Obviously if you're losing in the playoffs, you would want to acquire a big piece. Not a "I Must Start or Nothing" Allen Iverson/ Billups was the heart and soul of that team also. I mean yeah he was getting old, but so was Iverson, and for the style of basketball Detroit played, Billups was perfect in ther system. Now it looks like they'll be stuck in mediocrity for quite a while. Dumars should really be on the hot seat come the off-season.
-
Paul Pierce may have a broken foot apparently. That team is in a whole lot of trouble right now. Ray Allen has slowed down signifcantly, Garnett's a shawdow of his former glory, and I'd argue that Rajon Rondo is their best player right now.
-
For this offense, the Bears are definitely going to have to upgrade on the O-Line in this off-season. I'm looking forward to seeing how Jay and Martz get along with each other as the season goes on though, consdering Martz's comments about Cutler.
-
Cavs b****ing about Mo Williams missing out on the ASG ain't a shock, as they did the same thing last year. Hopefully, they'll get what's coming to em come the playoffs.
-
Something that needed to be done for a long time now. We'll need to see some results down the line though...
-
Such a huge win for us tonight, as we were terrible offensively for 3 quarters but were still able to pull it out. But Vince Carter has to go, it's just not working out at all with him, and it's pretty telling when the guy doesn't play for pretty much all of the 4th Q. He's only got 1 year left on his deal after this, so maybe we could dump him, but that's doubtful. I wonder if the Nets would take him back.
-
Reminds me a lot of the Shawn Marion situation there a couple of seasons ago actually. I think they move Amare for sure by the deadline, if they can get some good assets in return. Thomas and Deng would give them 2 forwards that could definitely help them (not sure if Deng fits in their system long - term though).

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 06:46 PM) I'd take Stoudemire, in a deal that sent Phoenix Thomas and Deng (might need to throw in a first rounder). If there were enough cap space (and if I learned how the Bird Rule works) , then the Bulls could sign Rudy Gay for the SF role. Pretty sure you'd need to get rid of either Hinrich or Salmons (probably the former) to make that work cap wise. I think Gay would be a really good fit for NY FWIW. Although they seem to have something pretty good going in Memphis ATM also.
