  1. QUOTE (T R U @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) Yawn, there is NOBODY to feud with Cena except for Orton.. why cant they just keep the belt on Orton and bring a different face into the title picture?? Whatever. I'd like to see em push Swagger into a feud with Cena for a couple of months but it will never happen. My guess is, Batista gets involved somehow now that he's due back. Yippee.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) I've bashed Darryl Drake before, but this isn't on him. These WRs (except Hester) really suck. It's frightening. Is that because they're not being developed to their full potential though?
  3. The Bears need to go out and get a better WR coach. But it was only Cutler's first game, so at least give him some time to build up a better chemistry with the likes of Bennett etc. going forward. It'll be hard for em in the NFC North this season though.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 08:26 AM) Fixed. Just make sure she doesn't know about the word.... of the bird. I think Jason, Mario or Andy snitched from fars awayz. Yeah I totally liked informed her of the situation via Skype.
  5. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 07:35 AM) Not funny. It's funny because it's true.
  6. Thanks guys much appreciated. Wish I was still in the States, but maybe in the future. Hope you had a great day also Felix.
  7. .554 OPS post ASB says it all really. He won't be back next season I would have thought, unless it was for a heavily discounted contract. JD's been a fine player for his time here though, and I'll miss him if he's not around next season.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) Man, this lady that is trying to sue Roethlisberger for rape seems like she is extra special crazy, she says she will drop her lawsuit if Ben admits to raping her. The only problem is that multiple hotel workers saw her go into his hotel room multiple times, she had been sending him messages on facebook, texts, and emails talking about how great everything was, and tried a "im his baby-mama" trick too. I dont see this going well for the accuser That there is basically admitting defeat. No way she can win now, and Ben ain't going to settle for that.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 11:04 PM) He's right. What else can you say? Not much really. We are what we are. And unfortunately, it's really not all that good, although I think the main pieces are in place, but a little more tweaking is needed.
  10. Was just reading the news and saw this little bit; She is pretty hot also.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 11:41 PM) I take it for you torrents don't qualify as "safe" so that's a no-go? That's how I get my fix, especially since season 6 won't hit our TV sets until 2010. How are people finding this season so far? Drama's storyline has probably been the main positive, but I am liking E's new workplaces and the potential for storylines that holds (the Bob Saget segment for instance).
  12. I think Pods has at least earned the right to come back next season as a 4th OF, and both parties will want to get a deal done, partly because they both need each other. The Sox need Pods' ability to get on base at a good percentage in the leadoff spot, while Pods hasn't had much success elsewhere in the MLB. I think the Sox will look to sign a more athletic RF in the off-season, to replace Dye however, basically a younger version of Bobby Abreu for instance, although off the top of my head I dunno who'll be out there in FA.
  13. QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 01:05 AM) Why would we want Dotel back, at even half of his current price? He'll be 36 in November and has a 1.53 WHIP this year. We can get below-average pitching from our farm system at a fraction of his salary. I'd imagine Jhonny Nunez is definitely going to be on our roster most likely come 2010. But then again, guys like Adam Russell haven't done the job in the past either. It all depends how KW uses the money.
  14. If we were to offer Dotel arbitration, and he accepted for say 4.4M would you then; Try and trade Dotel for a spect or 2 OR Keep him at that price?
  15. QUOTE (T R U @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) I guess im the only one who thinks the Patriots are dumbasses for trading Seymour for a 2011 1st round pick. The Patriots have already lost a bunch of people off their defense this offseason now they trade away a pro bowl DE. They are a team that was already in position to contend for the Super Bowl why make that trade? And they dont know how Oakland is going to be in 2 years, its quite possible they lose out on a good pick now for a later pick in a couple seasons. Of course, I don't know if that's all Oakland would give them and refused this one. Either way, its a little puzzling as to why they make this move. He signed a big contract a season ago right? People say that Wilfork and Ty Warren are more important to their D, so maybe they thought Seymour was expendable from that point of view. And remember they last guy they traded for a 1st rounder, Deion Branch, he didn't exactly light it up for Seattle.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 01:01 AM) I bought it a few days ago and I've been hooked. I love all the character bios, interviews with the Arkham doctors, stealth elements and upgrade options. It is really a fun game and I haven't been bored once. Still, once MW2 comes out I will be hooked. Those 2 games have me very excited for the rest of the year. Don't own a PS3 or XBOX360, although the PS3 Slim has been reduced down here to $499 (yeah we get screwed big time down here), so I'll have to wait til they come out on PC.
  17. One thing that concerns me about Rios' offensive #'s so far for the Sox (and yes the sample size of 66 AB's is obviously very small), is that I think he may already have the "swing for the fences" mentality, which is certainly not what this team needs. His LD% has decreased significantly to 10.4%, and he only hits 39.6% of groundballs. Add that to a 3.7% HR/F percentage and 17 K's in 66 AB's, those type of offensive numbers do have me more than a little concerned. And by all means, people should be able to bag Rios if they want, but at least come up with some justification of why they're doing it by delving into some intelligent baseball discussion instead of just saying "OH RIOS IS WORSE THAN BA!!!!11111"
  18. Small sample size to say the least. You can't make a fair judgement on Rios until the middle of next season IMO. But I'm not one of those who's confident he can put up an .800 OPS and play CF everyday for the next 5 seasons.
  19. Nothing really "shocking" about that piece. The offense needs to get more consistent and that's been a theme for a few seasons now. Whether or not we have the resources and personnel to accomplish that going forward, well we'll have to wait and see.
  20. QUOTE (tommy @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 03:38 PM) I was just going to ask.. have we waived the white flag? I think that's a pretty resounding yes after these moves. And I think at least the people on here would like to see what the likes of Flowers can do at the major league level for the moment.
  21. Wow, that all certainly happened very, very quickly. Firstly, I'll be rooting for the Dodgers come playoff time because of Jim Thome. That man deserves a World Series, and I hope he can actually win one. Classy move by KW to give him that chance. Very happy at what we got for Contreras. Hynick seems like he could be a contributor down the line, and to get anything of note for Jose who's been terrible lately is a pleasant surprise.
  22. Listening to Brand New's new album ATM. On first listen, I don't think it's as good as their older stuff.
  23. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 12:50 AM) PS http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2007/12/phillies-inte-1.html So there. The same guy Kenny dealt for Carlos Quentin he also was going to deal for Akinori Otsuka, who at the time was a 35-year-old setup man with 4 seasons in MLB. I maintain that Allen is a very similar prospect to Carter, and I believe this Tony Pena deal was very close to the deal the Sox almost made for Otsuka. It was a short-sighted, desperate move by Kenny and a steal for the DBacks Honestly if Conor Jackson is 100% healthy going into next season, he's their starter at 1B next season not Allen. And I still think Pena can turn it around. At least he's shown dominance at the major league level in the past.
  24. No, but they're just far too inconsistent, especially on offense, which has been this team's downfall for a few seasons. The thing is, you wouldn't expect that to happen from players such as Jermaine Dye, but unfortunately since the ASB, that's been the case.
  25. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 11:23 PM) lol. well, peavy shouldn't bother pitching this season anyway. don't want him to get infected with any of the bulls***. i bet he's wishing he didn't come here now. San Diego ain't exactly charging towards the postseason themselves.
