  1. Collins is 2-2 with a HR. Obviously we'd all like to see fewer strikeouts, but his batting line is still impressive. Robert's box score on MLB Farm currently showing 0-0 with 2 BB's, 1 SB and 1 CS.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 05:13 PM) Should teams be allowed to trade for picks, like every other sport? Discuss I can't think of a logical argument against this. It would certainly make the draft more exciting.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 11, 2017 -> 02:47 PM) They're walking back those comments about the Senate likely passing this thing around the second week of July. http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/04/opinions/hea...nion/index.html "Medicare for All" becomes the defining opportunity for Dems in 2018/20. If the GOP repeals the ACA (which all signs point to them still doing) and Dems don't run on single payer in '18 and beyond they deserve to lose.
  4. People don't *seriously* expect Robles in a trade for Robertson, right?
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 10, 2017 -> 09:11 PM) It's absurd he's still down there. I have no idea what Getz is doing TBH. I think they're taking it slow with him because of how badly he struggled in college last year.
  6. For such a good reliever it's crazy how much variance there is with Robertson's stuff. There are times when he's completely untouchable and others when it looks like he's throwing slop at the plate.
  7. Difficult for me to see Collins struggling with strikeouts to this degree and think Jeren Kendall is who the Sox should take at #11.
  8. But a 6 out save against a good lineup would look good to scouts & opposing GM's.
  9. Managing this game like it's the playoffs is fairly odd from Ricky.
  10. People don't like Frazier but the Sox have struggled for over a decade to find reliable 2 WAR players like him.
  11. Anyone know how Giolito's stuff is tonight?
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 10, 2017 -> 11:54 AM) That would mean most of the players the Sox have acquired are playing poorly. I'll take this year. But if the Sox are that bad next year, they need to start the rebuild all over again because the players they acquired suck. That's not necessarily true at all. We've seen the Sox have one of the best (and cheapest) cores in baseball and still manage to be a mediocre team. If Q, Robertson, Frazier, Kahnle, etc are all traded and the Sox don't sign stop gap veterans to avoid bottoming out guys like Moncada, Kopech, Lopez, etc could all be playing well in the majors next season and this would still be one of the worst rosters in baseball.
  13. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 11:23 PM) I can respect defense from great teams. I can't respect terrible defense from "great" teams Part of why the Warriors have been allowing so many points is because of the ridiculous pace in the series. Also, LeBron and Kyrie being surrounded by this much shooting is going to score against anyone. 95-96 Bulls allowed 101.8 points per 100 possessions 16-17 Warriors allowed 104.0 points per 100 possessions I'm not trying to argue this Warriors team is/is not better than the 95 Bulls, but it's also not fair to act like the Warriors are a bad defensive team.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 10:52 PM) The 96 Bulls lost game 4 of the finals by 21. If they win Game 5 they'll have a very legitimate argument as the greatest team of all-time. Of course I would have said the same thing last year...
  15. LeBron literally can't sit for 1 minute without the Cavs collapsing.
  16. Losing track of which team this game is supposed to be rigged in favor of.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) OMG these refs are such f***ing garbage. Nobody called that a backcourt violation. Could easily argue they've been bad for both teams. Jones getting a T for talking trash on the bench is ridiculous.
  18. Korver not being automatic from 3 has been devastating for Cleveland. But this is the first time in the series Cleveland has been able to survive at all with LeBron on the bench.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 08:55 PM) There are 12 million reasons the Warriors wouldn't mind another home game. Worth pointing out the league doesn't benefit at all from additional games in this series. Only the Warriors and possibly Cavs do if there's an eventual game 6.
  20. 16 point lead after 1 for Cleveland and it doesn't feel safe at all.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 08:15 PM) Gotta be pleased with Adams' season so far. Not bad at all. Agreed. There's definitely a path for him to eventually become a Josh Tomlin or (if things go right) Phil Hughes type of pitcher.
  22. We don't talk enough about how weird it is that Renteria (seemingly?) prefers Kevan Smith to Narvaez.
  23. Turns out even for Frazier a BABIP below .200 isn't sustainable.
  24. Frazier getting dangerously close to a league average batting line again.
